This was my husband and my first time at Lonnie's Reno Club, as it was recommended by my brother, who took his girlfriend and daughter on separate occasions. Lonnie was fantastic! We enjoyed the band, the history, tap dancing, food, drinks—everything about it! Worth a visit if you haven't!
This was my first time here!! My boyfriend and I booked the showing on Valentines weekend. Lonnie’s was a fantastic experience. Wow! Lonnie and his band were amazing. The service from Joshua and Kenny made the experience really enjoyable and memorable, too. I cannot wait to take my friends and family here. Lonnie was really kind and interacted with everyone-very genuine and happy! You can tell that he truly enjoys and cares about those who come to watch his shows- and he loves Jazz with all his heart!
We’ve always had a great experience at Lonnie’s, so when we invited guests from the several states away to come hear him, but I was embarrassed by the evening. Lonnie’s performance was replaced by something like a lounge act rather than jazz. We felt like we were attending a party to which we are not invited. We love you Lonnie, but please don’t leave the store. I still will give 5 stars for the Club because I know you’ll be back, and so will I, and we’ll have a great time again.
What a fantastic night of entertainment! Lonnie's band killed it, and the level of showmanship and engaging the audience was high energy for a jazz club. The service and the food were both good as well. The club is relatively small, with more of an upscale restaurant feel. Not a bar.
Our first trip to Kansas City and this was a great show! The service was great and we enjoyed the pre fixe menu. Food was mostly really good, but can’t say all dishes were great. Overall, we would go here over and over for the full experience of an amazing performance by Lonnie McFadden and his band, who are young, accomplished musicians on their own. Lonnie is high energy, tells stories, highlights his band members, performs a variety that will not disappoint (including tap dancing) and engages with every single audience member. It is an intimate room with great history on the walls and great acoustics.
Let me tell you...This club was so much more than I expected. From being greeted at the door with cocktails, the food, the service, the band and Lonnie himself...if you are looking for a Jazz spot in Kansas City this is well worth the money. It's a WHOLE VIBE!!! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Lonnie is just fantastic from telling stories & experiences, to tap dancing and the way him and the band keep you entertained from the moment they start. We will be back for more!
Lonnie is an amazing performer. He's so talented! This was one the most fun evenings we've ever had experiencing KC Jazz. Food was delicious service was top notch.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Lonnie’s Reno Club and had such a wonderful time! The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was very fun and energetic. The food was also so delicious. And Lonnie was the best part! Him and his band have such a talent and kept us laughing, singing, and smiling all night. I recommend Lonnie’s for your next date night, celebration, or just needing a fun and unique downtown experience!
This is the BEST jazz club you can find in KC! Lonnie and his crew make for an absolutely incredible night along with amazing food! We’ve seen him more times than I can count over the years, even before he opened this club almost 5 years ago! Great for date night or any special occasion you are celebrating! Hands down one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. I stumbled upon Lonnie’s during my stay at the Ambassador and it was exactly the kind of authentic Kansas City experience I was looking to have while visiting. Lonnie is so full of energy you can’t help but feel electrified sitting in the room, and the music will have you swinging along with him.
