I have never in my 61 years as a KC resident had as nice an experience as I had tonight At Lonnie's Reno Club. I don't think there's much I can add to that.
Wow! My wife treated me to a night out for my birthday and picked Lonnie’s. We both love live music and I love jazz. First, the food was fantastic! We both had beef Wellington. The desserts were great and so was the merlot. By far the best part was the entertainment! Lonnie is a ball of fire. He tells stories, he’s got moves, he plays trumpet and he even does a little tap (extremely well, at least to my untrained eyes). If you love a night out and want a true KC experience, you need to book a table at Lonnie’s!
A really cool performance - lead Lonnie and band which includes guitarist, drums, and piano. Really great atmosphere, three course meal and good drinks. Three hour jazz performance. Highly recommended.

This place should have happened years ago. Lonnie is a true performer, and this place is special. This is a very swanky feeling venue with incredible music and delicious food. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an intimate Kansas City jazz experience.

Such a memorable evening! Lonnie is a Kansas City jazz titan! Lonnie’s Reno Club is inside of the Ambassador Hotel. The ambiance is spot on. The furniture is plush and comfortable. The service is outstanding. The food (3-course menu) is tasty - we had the beef wellington. And the music! Oh that was definitely the best part! Incredible show! Lonnie and his band take you on a jazz journey that honors the greats & celebrates KC. He tap dances too! Website’s pricing transparency needs improvement. We went on Sat, June 21. Cost $35 pp to reserve ticket plus tax & fees so $173.94 for 4 guests for the show & a welcome champagne cocktail. The dinner was $85 pp + 20% service charge, which goes to the staff. We had a $70 bottle of Pinot noir, but they do allow you to bring a bottle of wine for $25 corkage. Valet is available for $15, but we parked on the street right outside for $4.50 using ParkMobile. I thought the night was well-priced given the incredible show quality & great food and service. I was happy with the value for price paid. There’s an elevator that goes downstairs to the club - so ADA friendly. Bring cash to tip the band!
