Lonnie’s Reno Club

Lonnie McFadden is an exceptional performer— he seamlessly intertwines moving renditions of jazz classics with KC jazz history and the most soulful tap dancing I have ever seen. We had to leave early this evening and were unhappy we had to miss the last half hour because he and his excellent band delivered a first rate jazz club experience. We will definitely return!

One of the best dinner shows I’ve been to. I’m not normally a big jazz fan, Lonnie won me over tonight. The show was amazing, the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were on point. The ambiance is romantic and charming. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a an unforgettable evening out. Thanks for a great show Lonnie!!!!

Wife graciously made us some reservations at Lonnie’s Reno Club for my birthday. We were greeted with cocktails on entering. Super intimate space with probably only 45 people maximum. Lonnie is a fantastic performer. Trumpet, flugelhorn, tap dancing, singing; this gentleman had it all. Even got a shout out for my birthday! Drinks were strong and food was top notch. Hard not to feel like you’ve made it when you get to spend the evening here. 10/10 experience, one of the best evenings I’ve ever had in Kansas City.

My cheeks hurt from smiling for 3 hours watching the amazing Lonnie McFadden last night! His enthusiasm is contagious and his performance with fellow world class musicians was spot on! Loved learning new things about Kansas City's rich jazz history from a living legend! Lonnie interacts with every table/guest (even on break) - what a delightful soul. The food and service were excellent at the Ambassador Hotel was lovely. What a special treat right here in my home city!

We went to Lonnie’s Reno Club for a date night and couldn’t be happier we did! Lonnie’s showmanship is unmatched — the energy he pours into the crowd is incredible. What makes it even more special is his intimate knowledge of Kansas City jazz history; he told stories of the actual jazzmen who built the scene, and it brought the music to life. Service was excellent, the staff was fantastic, and the Beef Wellington was top notch. An unforgettable night — truly a must-try Kansas City experience!

Lonnie's Reno Club in Kansas City offers an unparalleled dinner and jazz experience! From the moment we walked in and were greeted with a champagne cocktail, we knew we were in for a special evening. The setting is intimate and exudes a swanky supper club ambiance that perfectly complements the rich history of Kansas City jazz. The three-course dinner was outstanding. We chose the beef Wellington and the rosemary lemon chicken, both of which were excellent and full of flavor. The staff was polite, and the service was timely, adding to the overall positive experience. The bathrooms were clean, and attention to detail was evident throughout the venue. The highlight of the evening was, without a doubt, the live jazz show. Lonnie is a fun performer—lively, engaging, and incredibly talented. He even made rounds to interact with the audience and showcased his impressive tap dancing skills, adding an extra layer of entertainment and personal touch. Lonnie's Reno Club blends historic charm with modern style, offering classic and Prohibition Era cocktails alongside tasteful cuisine. It's a unique experience that combines the best of dining and live music. If you're in Kansas City and looking for a night of jazz, food, and fun, Lonnie's Reno Club is the place to be. If you have not been to Lonnie’s Reno Club you are we missing the most exciting evening of entertainment in KC. Lonnie is the most charismatic and talented entertainer. Food and service are excellent. Have been 3 times and will definitely go again. It’s amazing !!!!!!

Lonnie brings the history and vibe of KC Jazz to life... and man oh man, is his energy contagious! The depth & rhythm that Andrew, Tyree & Zach add to the mix made our Anniversary night unforgettable. You will hear songs that you thought you knew by heart take on an entirely new life just by their enthusiasm, timing and artistry. It was truly incredible. The menu choices are limited but the food and service was on point. They did a great job not distracting us from the entertainment. We've enjoyed watching Lonnie perform at so many places around KC over the years. But if you ever want to experience what jazz clubs were like back in the day, then you have to put the Reno Club on your list. This is where Lonnie & his band (and the KC Jazz scene) were meant to be.

This is my second time with the first being opening night. I’m so happy that the place seems to be thriving! I can’t imagine Lonnie having a bad night because he’s a consummate entertainer and would bring the same energy regardless of the room size. To top it off I had the best espresso martini EVER tonight.

Lonnie and his band put on a Wonder show. Me and my wife went spur of the moment -a night out with no kids isn't something we've had in a long while. Lonnie did not disapoint. I haven't listened to such wonderful jazz in a long time a couple songs brought me back to being in fostercare. For something that was spur of the moment we made some memories and revised a few others. I wished I had dressed better for the atmosphere. They were kind and gracious and even commented when I spoke up about being underdressed that there wasn't a dress code. But this place deserves one.
