I’d give 0 stars if I could. An employee named Suze hit my 3 year old son in the bathroom with the stall door pretty hard. It bounced off of his head and pushed him forward into the sink. Suze then proceeded to walk out of the bathroom with headphones in and once I got her attention and let her know she hit my son she immediately escalated the situation and denied anything happening. She then assured me “tonight’s not the night to come for me. I promise you that” so not only was my 3 year old son assaulted I was also threatened. I spoke with the shift manager who was apologetic and took down my information so the store manager could contact me. Other than getting my side of the story and assuring me that’s not behavior they want their customers treated with, nothing was done. I wasn’t even told if she’d lose her job for assaulting a 3 year old child in the bathroom. And by the way the other employees who were standing there acted about that situation with Suze it seems like it wasn’t shocking whatsoever. So I’m going to assume Suze is a feral woman who gets away with too much at BJ’s. So I definitely do not recommend shopping at BJ’s ESPECIALLY if you’re a mother to young children.
Bill & same is horrible This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. While shopping for an Instacart order, I was falsely accused of stealing by an employee named Bill, even though all items were clearly visible and accounted for in the app. He then became aggressive and extremely unprofessional. What made this situation completely unacceptable is that he used racist and degrading language toward me in front of my 10-year-old child and other customers. No one should ever have to experience that kind of treatment. Management was present and failed to intervene appropriately. There was no apology and no effort to de-escalate the situation, which made everything even worse. I usually shop at Costco, and after this experience, I will not be returning to BJ’s. I truly hope this location is investigated so this does not happen to anyone else.
Mary at member services is very helpful. very friendly. I had forgotten my card today so she helped me out with that and I really appreciated it. Thank you, Mary
I know now why BJ wholesale is not doing well in Jacksonville. You have more staffs in the store than customer at 3:30pm on Thursday and I’m waiting for 10 minutes for someone to show up to help me with an online order pickup. All the staff standing around looking and dont bother to help. The team that work in the pickup show up and confuse about the order keep trying to check a cart with 5 items that none match my list. Telling me that another team member might be going around collecting the stuffs but that was his guess. He not sure what happen to my order either. I went to the service desk to inquired about my order. She first pointed back to the guy I just spoke to that is confused. Then she finally take me to someone else then pointed back to the same place I was before.
This company is fraudulent. If no one told you, I am here to tell you. If you are not a member and use a friend/family member's membership card, the company will keep your credit/debit card information during checkout -WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE- and use it to pay the member's annual membership fee. They will also set it to auto-renewal, all without your knowledge or consent, and without feeling the need to send you a receipt. This happened to me yesterday, charged my account without my knowledge after I used a so-called friend's card---8 MONTHS AGO!!! I couldn't find a record of this transaction anywhere but on my bank transactions--no confirmation anywhere. Then the agent this morning told me they could not verify the membership information that my card paid for....TO PROTECT THE MEMBERS identity. That's laughable. You will take someone else's money for the member and then say we can't give you any information. Where is the protection for the person whose money you're taking? I guess the member got my receipt too. This is legitimate fraud. Now if the member knew this would happen, then she too is fraudulent. However, BJ's needs to put a system in place for this kind of thing. There is no cardholder verification/consent in place anywhere at all. They should not be able to keep and charge someone else's card information for a membership, ESPECIALLY if I don't even have an account with BJ's! They don't have my name anywhere in their system, the lady couldn't pull me up and had to ask me for my email address for the dispute. That makes no sense at all. BJ's, you are committing fraud. I did not agree for you to charge and KEEP charging my bank card. Period.
I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit. There selection is nice and prices seem competitive. I particularly like the fact that they do offer some items in portions that are more conducive to a two person family.
The bakery staff made me such a beautiful rainbow birthday cake, and I am so, so pleased with how it turned out!!! They piped a border in every color of the rainbow with individual precision, and I am just so thankful that they took the time to make my birthday so special. I feel very loved. Thank you! ❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜
I had a very disappointing experience with curbside pickup at BJ’s Wholesale Club on Phillips Highway in Jacksonville. After getting home, I realized an item was missing from my order. I called the store to resolve it, and what followed was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Member Services transferred me, and I was placed on hold for an extended period. The call would repeatedly loop back, and multiple times the phone was picked up and immediately hung up. On two occasions, I could hear joking in the background before being disconnected, and another time the person answering made screeching noises before the call was dropped. This happened several times. Eventually, I called through the deli just to reach a human being. The gentleman who answered was kind and actually took ownership of the situation. Instead of transferring me again, he walked to his manager, Tammy, who went above and beyond. She personally walked from the back of the store to Member Services at the front to make sure someone addressed my issue. That level of effort and professionalism was truly appreciated—thank you, Tammy. Once I finally spoke with a store manager, I did receive an apology and a refund for the missing item. However, what was most concerning was the lack of urgency or concern regarding the behavior of the associates handling the calls. Mistakes happen—I completely understand that. Stores get busy—that’s understandable too. But repeatedly hanging up on customers, or making noises instead of communicating is unacceptable. This experience was frustrating and disappointing, but I do want to recognize Tammy (and the deli associate) for their outstanding customer service. They were the only reason this situation was resolved.
I've been a BJs member for about half of a year. I'm rarely blown away by any of the 'deals' in the store, but occasionally, you'll find that truffle of a value. It's worth looking around. Also, the employees here are all very friendly and helpful. I joined for the gasoline prices. Regarding the store, this location DOES NOT HAVE CAFE OR EATING AREA.
The employee named “Young” is rude and has bad customer service skills. We bought a tv one day and management said they can hold it until the next day because it wouldn’t fit in our car. We came back with the receipt the next day and Young gave us so much trouble. I understand you want to make sure that merchandise is not stolen. You should never accuse someone of stealing especially if they have the receipt and the item number matches the TV. She made me feel horrible. If you are reading this Young, learn how to treat people. It seems like she is an older person and they just let her do whatever she wants because she is older. RESPECT GOES BOTH WAYS. It’s unfortunate, she will probably continue to treat people who she thinks are less than as thieves. Read between the lines.
