I really believe I would’ve did better listing my items on EBay!! I took 2 brand new coats in (never worn & on hangers) from Dillard’s with the tags still on them, one even had a cute little hat attached . I was offered $9 . After they saw I was about to take the coats back they offered me $11. Their reason “we don’t sell coats for that much” .. 🤦🏽♀️This place is a rip off if you’re planning to sale items.
Service lacked. Head lady was kinda short with me. Did not approach me, the customer. She was in the back corner talking to another associate. What I heard was not work related. Although, she seen me I had to beckon for her assistance. This not good. However, the store is quite larger than the other stores I have seen in the Memphis area. They have a larger and more acceptable selection of clothing, but their toys are lacking compared to the other stores.
I was a big fan of this place until this weekend. No way to call and check on items that have been dropped off. Phone does not work. I was told to come back in 4 hours. I did just that and items still weren't ready. Waste of time and gas. Manager says come back tomorrow. OK fine. I come back the next afternoon and items had been passed over due to wear and seasonal needs. Ok. But let's say I put my last $5 in the tank and was counting on something for extra cash. Someone could have saved me the trouble and told me over the phone..long story short manager & staff showed no sympathy....and i will no longer give them my business. .
The young ladies are so rude at this location. The store is overcrowded and the communication is horrible. Several weeks ago I received a text that my buy was done. I get there only to be told only half of my stuff was looked at and they couldn’t find it. At the same time the same thing is happening to another customer. A couple weeks later I took some gently worn clothes and brand new teddy bears. The text me that my buy was done but they couldn’t over me money for anything and asked if I wanted to donate. Against my better judgement I said yes. Big mistake…the following weekend found two of my bears for sale. I’ll stick to Collierville.

I live in Arkansas so coming out to this location is a 42 minute drive for me. Plus I have one child and an infant to bring with me. This occurred on Dec 30th. I called the morning of at 11 am and the associate there said that I had until 6 pm to bring my clothes to sale. My partner and I load the truck and go out to the Cordova location and we made it at 5 pm. The woman at the counter immediately said she was not taking any more drop off and to come back tomorrow. I told her someone on the phone told me i had until six. She basically acted like she didn't care and kept saying they were not taking any more clothes. The woman was rude and lazy. We didn't even get inside the door good before she said this. It felt like she just didn't want to do her job. I took my clothes over to the Collierville location and they were more helpful.
Dropped off clothes yesterday morning to sale. One staff member was friendly while the other who was attending me would not answer me when I asked questions and not a kind demeanor when did speak. My link has said in que and ready by 4:45 since yesterday midday. It is now almost 6 pm next day There has been no update. I’ve been trying to call for about an hour(since 4:40) and the call line has stayed busy or beeped at me. I would like to get an update or something.
I shopped at Once Upon A Child all the time before moving to TN, but I couldn't believe how poorly this store compared. Most of the baby gear is so dirty! Strollers, bassinets etc., not “gently used” at all but they still mark the prices more than 50% of that product new. If it is clean, you can expect to pay almost new prices. Even clothing was marked almost twice the amount I’m used to seeing. For the most part, the clothing looked to be in expected shape and there was definitely a large selection but I believe their prices are far too high for the quality of the products.
I am extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service. I have been shopping at this location since it opened and the people used to greet you and offer assistance but not anymore. They are not necessarily rude but there is just a lack of customer service. They have inappropriate conversations while checking you out and don’t even bother to say hello. They mumble the price and when I have to ask them to repeat it, they seem annoyed. Tonight I brought in two totes which I struggled to get in and they watched me struggle without even offering a hello. When I finally got to the counter I was then told that they were behind two days (which I was in no rush and okay with) but they could only take one of my totes. I was annoyed not because they didn’t offer to help but this is something you clearly could have said as you saw me struggling to get them through the door. At one time there was a great manager that was there and seemed to keep the staff on point. Management please get this store together. I am looking forward to the new location and hopefully some friendly faces that exhibit good customer service. I appreciate the closeness of this one but have as of late been driving to the other locations due to the problem with customer service.
I went in today to find a basic pack N play and they have 2. One was very nice but very basic, no bag , bassinet or changing table to it. And a dirty one that had nothing with it (surprised they even bought that) they told me $90 for the clean one and $70 for dirty one… I was floored.. couldn’t believe that! I can buy a basic one for 56.00 at Walmart NEW… seriously!! I was there a couple weeks ago and they were like $25-$70. What a shame, this is why they have a over load of stuff in there store. The sister store only wanted $70 for a very nice one with everything with it. Who ever prices at Cordova needs a new job!!
