It is a great business and it has a white variety of products and brands. It is a little bit more expensive than the Safeway but there are more staff on the floor and the merchandise is a little more upscale.
I LOVE Metropolitan Market in West Seattle. They always have a large variety of fresh flowers and small plants, the best selection I've found anywhere. Their fresh food choices are excellent, especially the prime rib sandwich that you can have made with or without horseradish. It's a bit pricey but as an occasional treat it is superb! Their cheese selection is exquisite, and their fresh chocolate chip cookies that are made in-store, are wonderful. Grocery choices are broad and the Met tends to have more healthy brands than not and compared to other supermarkets, they maintain significant ly more healthy and organic products. The store is always clean, the personnel, always quite helpful and friendly. The reason I don't shop there more than I do, which is occasionally, is the prices are a bit on the high side. The products are worth it for sure as they are always of high quality. But my income simply doesn't allow me to spend as much on groceries, flowers, and other essentials as I would like. The reason I scored 4 stars and not 5 is because of a recent experience I had there. I was looking for a particular "flower" (pussy willows), to give to someone who shares a special memory with me involving them. The person working in the flower department assured me that although they had none at the time, they could order them for me and notify me when they came in. I was happy to hear that so I left my name and number with her and went about my business. Approximately 2 months have passed and I have not heard a word from them, even to say they were unable to get them, or they would be delayed, or, of course, that they had arrived. It is certainly a disappointment. A promise not kept. Overall, the Met Market is definitely a place that everyone should experience. It is refreshing to shop there instead of a large chain supermarket where shopping is almost dismal. Shopping at a supermarket can be a drag, but the Metropolitan Market in West Seattle is not. I often take longer at the Met than other stores because I frequently find myself enthralled by the choices and stop and look closely at many different things during my visits there. Give it a try, I bet you'll find it a lovely, refreshing, shopping experience, such that the higher prices are typically well worth it, even if only occasionally.
The store always has a great selection of local products, fresh produce, and “the cookie” 🍪 😋 Everyone who works there is knowledgeable and friendly.
The atmosphere was amazing and there's plenty of things to look at. There's an area for those who would like to just sit and eat their food as well which I thought was pretty cool.

We love metropolitan market. Their house pasta and sauces are the only ones we use anymore. Likewise, they're frozen Italian meatballs. We get two for one offers so we go there two or three times a month for top quality meat, fish and produce. The prime rib French dip is worth going out of your way for. We had it with extra meat and one sandwich was plenty for two people. Last week we bought their barbecued pork ribs. We had tried them once before and resolved to get a supply. We bought two pounds and had several meals throughout the week. They're just wonderful! There's a great selection of cheeses and fresh food by the pound. There's a poke bar. There's hot food by the pound. The staff members are friendly and helpful. There's plenty of parking. UPDATE 12/1/23 BOGO sockeye salmon, yum!
The deli is amazing with lots of options. Great selection of fresh fruit. And the butcher always has the best cuts.
