I want to thank the following staff at the Intercontinental Hotel San Diego for making our stay amazing! Let's start with the Valet crew! So very helpful! Very easy in, very easy out...And I must mention the front desk staff, as we arrived Friday with their big smiles. Riley, who assisted us on our last visit, was there again for us on both Saturday night again Sunday with his helpfulness, inviting smile and genuine desire to make our stay magical. Lastly, when we upgraded rooms, the Bellman took care of everything. Our vacation was saved by these guys!! More than happy to share our experience.

InterContinental San Diego is one of those stays that instantly makes your trip easier. The location is ridiculously convenient, steps from the marina and right in the middle of everything fun, so you can walk to entertainment, waterfront strolls, and last minute plans without thinking twice. The amenities genuinely deliver. The gym is impressive, the rooftop pool is warm and feels like a real escape, and the on site restaurants make it easy to keep the whole stay seamless. Service was strong throughout, polished and friendly, and the rooftop bar is the kind of iconic spot you end up talking about after you leave. The room itself is really solid. Modern and clean, but not trying too hard, and honestly it feels better than it looks. The mattress and pillows were genuinely comfortable, which matters most, and it made the whole stay feel easy and restful. I’d absolutely stay here again. More on social media: @ratedbymaryam

Overall, I would choose somewhere else in the area. While it’s an excellent location with friendly staff, there were some issues. We were on the 16th floor and several rooms had left trash outside their room for housekeeping- it remained there for 2 days. The pool is never in the sun due to location of buildings- chilly. We noticed the property next door (Residence Inn) had a pool in full sun as well as the deck/restaurant open. Ours was closed for the season which was disappointing as my spouse wanted to relax, watch the superbowl and have some drinks. The breakfast options are not much more than what you might find at a free breakfast bar at a 2 star hotel, except they charge $30-45 each for it. Would have expected more as we stayed as part of The Edit with Chase. We applied the credit for valet which was a nice perk.

Our trip started off a little bumpy but the customer service Noah displayed to resolve it truly was above and beyond. It was clear that he truly cared. And he recognized our military status which is always appreciated. Don’t sleep on this hotel. It’s right on the harbour and stunning. Beautiful design and immaculately clean. The pool is heated with incredible views. The gym had spin, yoga, and strength classes from a digital display which was such a treat. The food in the restaurant and club was excellent. It’s within walking distance of so much. The staff was friendly helpful and professional wherever we went. Great place to stay before and after a cruise as the terminal is across the street. Great fish market on Saturday just a short walk away.

The hotel offers stunning views of San Diego Bay, modern and beautifully appointed rooms, and an unbeatable waterfront location. Waking up to views of the harbor and watching the sunset over the water made the experience truly memorable. The staff was professional, friendly, and attentive, providing outstanding service throughout my stay. The hotel was spotless, the amenities were excellent, and the location made it easy to explore nearby attractions such as the waterfront, Seaport Village, and downtown San Diego. Whether traveling for business or leisure, the InterContinental delivers a luxury experience with comfort, convenience, and incredible views. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Diego.

Lovely property and as a Diamond Ambassador I had an upgrade to an excellent view. The rooms were clean with excellent amenities. Note: Club lounge is for club room members and reserve ambassador members. I was able to check-in early and appreciated that after a long morning of travel. The staff was polite and efficient. The dinner options on this property are great, but the lunch menu is sparse and the breakfast buffet is excellent but starts at 7.

We had issues booking through a third-party, but the hotel was very understanding and helped us with an adjustment to our room. The dining, location and amenities were all perfect. Everyone was responsive to our needs and would love to come back in the future.

My experience with this hotel has been extremely disappointing, not because of the stay itself, but because of how they handled a post-stay billing issue. I was incorrectly charged and was assured that the charges would be reversed. I promptly completed all the required forms with the correct information, yet despite multiple follow-ups over an extended period of more than 3 weeks, the hotel failed to process the refund. Every time I reached out, I was met with delays and empty assurances rather than a resolution. What is most frustrating is the complete lack of accountability. As a Platinum Elite IHG member, I expected a much higher standard of customer service. Instead, I was left chasing the hotel to correct an error that should never have happened in the first place. The issue was entirely avoidable and could have been resolved quickly had the hotel taken ownership. Instead, they chose to prolong the process, causing unnecessary frustration and wasting my time. This experience has completely eroded my trust in this property. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend staying here based on how they handle customer issues after checkout.

Feel this ticked all the boxes of what a four star hotel would be. Room was serviced every day to a high standard and very clean. Its a close walk to the aircraft carrier and places to eat. Has great conferencing facilities in the building.

I've been here twice over the past year. Same check in host registered me. Upgraded me both times. First time, alone to a bay view. Second time from a suite to a grand suite and had the most spectacular 180 views. On top of that, everyone we met was outstanding. Only downside is the food could have been better but still better than average. Highly recommend for an out of this world experience.
