This was our second visit to this Intercontinental Property. It is wonderful. However, our highlight was seeing and being greeted by Kirk Larowe. His smile, stories and hospitality were the highlight of our entire experience. We would come back just to see Kirk. The entire staff made a great hotel even greater. Can’t wait to see you again😊

We recently stayed at the InterContinental San Diego – Bayfront, and overall, we had a great experience. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and in a prime location—right in the heart of downtown, within walking distance of Seaport Village and the USS Midway Museum. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Riley at the front desk. He was incredibly kind and patient throughout the entire check-in process. I had requested a bay view room, and while the view from our room wasn’t quite what I expected, Riley reassured me that it was the best available at the time, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, our room did not come with a refrigerator or microwave. This was important to us since my husband had prepared a lot of food for his marathon. When I called the front desk, I was told there would be an extra charge for each item, which was a bit disappointing on top of the room view concern. However, Mauricio, the resort manager, personally stepped in and truly turned our experience around. He arranged for both the refrigerator and microwave to be delivered at no extra charge and even double-checked availability for a bayfront room. Although none were available, we really appreciated his effort and attention. From that point on, our stay was wonderful. A big thank you to Mauricio for going above and beyond—it made all the difference!

LOVE the hotel, HATE the RESORT fee. I’ve been traveling on business and pleasure for 30 years, 118 countries, over 1000 cities. If there’s ONE thing that travellers HATE is to book a room, and then find out you have to pay MUCH more after you arrive!!! Not only do you not have a choice, but it’s a TERRIBLE deal. I have to PAY to get 10%off the spa? 15% off a restaurant I’m NOT interested in? Gym? Pool? It should ALREADY be in the price!!!

Hello, We made our reservation before August 15th after hearing many good things about this hotel. We have fond memories of staying at this brand in other countries, so when we found it here in San Diego—right in the middle of the city with such beautiful surroundings—we were very excited to book. However, I was quite disappointed with the service we experienced. We requested room service to change the sheets, but instead of replacing them with clean ones, the staff put the same dirty sheets back on the bed. My makeup stains were still visible, which is completely unacceptable—especially given the price we paid. Additionally, the following morning we requested water around 8:00 AM. By 11:00 AM, after calling again, we were told it had simply been forgotten. This level of indifference does not reflect the reputation or standards we expected from such a well-regarded hotel. A hotel of this caliber should never compromise on cleanliness or basic service, and I sincerely hope you will address these issues to ensure a better experience for future guests.

I recently stayed at this hotel with my family and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautifully maintained, and most of the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the valet and bellman at the entrance. One staff member who stood out was Robert, a bellman who was especially welcoming and helpful. He efficiently handled our luggage and provided us with insightful recommendations about the area, making for a great first impression. As we entered the lobby, we were met with an elegantly designed space that immediately set the tone for our stay. The front desk staff were courteous and professional from check-in to check-out, ensuring we were happy. A front desk manager, whom I believe was of Asian descent, consistently checked in on us to ensure we were satisfied with our stay. She was always lovely. Our rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and had a stunning view of the water. Housekeeping did an excellent job maintaining cleanliness, restocking amenities, and ensuring we never had to request additional supplies. The gym was well-equipped and spacious. While I typically use the rowing machine, I noticed that one was making a loud noise. However, there were plenty of other machines available, so I opted for a stationary bike instead. The pool area was another highlight, featuring ample seating and a breathtaking view of the bay. Though the weather was a bit chilly during our visit, preventing us from fully enjoying the pool, it was still a fantastic amenity. The hotel’s restaurant had ample seating and a well-curated breakfast menu. Although we only dined there for breakfast, everything we ordered, including the avocado toast, was delicious, and our entire party was pleased with their meals. The Club Lounge was another great feature, offering bright, sunlit indoor seating as well as an outdoor seating area. The lounge was always well-stocked with snacks, and both the breakfast and evening food were enjoyable. However, one staff member detracted from the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. A particular gentleman (shorter, stockier, with an extreme tan) was consistently loud, engaging in conversations across the room with staff and discussing guests’ accounts openly in the dining area. This behavior felt unprofessional, as such discussions should be handled privately and discreetly. The hotel's location is excellent, with plenty to do nearby, including waterfront walks, great restaurants, and beautiful parks. During our stay, there was even a food fair at the park, which was a nice addition to our experience. Overall, I give this hotel a well-deserved five-star rating. Despite the minor issue with one staff member, it does not overshadow the outstanding service provided by the rest of the team. Our stay was truly enjoyable, and I highly recommend this hotel.

Right from the start, Ramsey and Maria made us feel beyond welcomed. Garret at the bar was amazing as well! Service in general was extremely fast, hospitable, and great quality. Spending a few weeks in SD, Ramsey was more than happy to help us unload a ton of stuff and move it to our room. Maria was able to find a wonderful room that accommodated us and our service dog. We can’t wait to be back just to see the service staff!

I’ve stayed in IC’s all over the world and this has got to be the worst. Let me start by saying the staff were amazing. The room was ok (nothing more) but the rest just poor. Not up to ICH standards at all. For such an expensive hotel to only have the basics is not acceptable. Breakfast for 2 was $131 and it was buffet style. Only 1 restaurant available, limited menu choices and cost $190 for 2 adults and a kids meal. Then to top it all off, they add a $50 a day resort fee to the bill (no idea what for. There were no benefits or reasons to charge it. Can guarantee when I come back to SD, it will be my last choice of hotel.

Clean rooms, decent views, good amenities, no microwave/fridge in the rooms by default though, those cost extra. For a business trip this wasn't a problem, for others it maybe. Service was exceptional and staff goes above and beyond, so I would highly recommend this hotel for that reason at the minimum.

We were visiting from Colorado with family and this was one of the best experiences we've had from a high end hotel in quite some time. We have platinum elite status, and while there was not an upgrade to our room, we felt like our double queen room was comfortable and quiet. Housekeeping serviced our room everyday. Vistal restaurant is a great setting, has tasty breakfast, dessert, and cocktails. The "Good morning" from the front desk on our way out for our day was a nice touch. My wife enjoyed the gym, my kids enjoyed the pool. Not everything was "perfect" but close enough. We stayed 4 nights.

Be careful, they will pad your bill and post multiple fraudulent charges on your card. They will give you a run around to fix this. I am a Diamond Elite member and even after spending hours talking to them, it is still not fixed. Front desk is rude and hotel is average. Definitely not a five star hotel like they claim.
