We took a trip by train to San Diego and this hotel is walking distance from the Santa Fe station. Riley at the front desk checked us in and he really went to extra mile to make sure we had a pleasant stay. Everything was very clean in the hotel. Vistal restaurant had a great view and the food was also very good for both breakfast buffet and dinner. Seneca restaurant at the top floor also offered great vibes and nice drinks, I just wish it stayed open a bit later. Overall we definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel especially if you use the Chase Sapphire programs.

The location is ideal for walking the boardwalk and visiting the Midway, Seaport Village, and a dinner cruise. Petco Park was a $6.50 fare on Uber. Tha Gaslamp is close. Park your car and Uber or tram to your adventure. The restaurants at the hotel are great. There's a Starbucks on the property. The corner suite we had was very nice. In this price category you have options so location is key.

This stay showed strong coordination and service detail. Ambassador recognition was handled clearly, and the front desk operated in sync during check-in. That alignment carried into the lounge and Vistal, where staff rotated across roles and maintained cohesion. The Grand Suite was well laid out with strong natural light and clear function. Housekeeping maintained the standard, with the suite consistently refreshed and restocked with detailed touches from Angie. The rooftop pool and deck added a resort layer. The water was clean and warm, the layout organized, and the waterfront views reinforced the setting. It could get busy at times. Vistal and Garibaldi provided a coherent and complementary dining experience. Vistal was energetic and attentive, while Garibaldi was quieter and more measured. Justin and Julie anchored the experience. The “Incredible Occasion” package was completed while we were out and matched the booking without issue, reflecting a proactive level of coordination and initiative. The location at Santa Fe Depot provides direct waterfront access and convenient transit. A reliable return point.

We had a room with a few minor issues when we arrived, but the front desk handled it beautifully. Noah helped us and was incredibly kind and thorough. He took the time to listen to our concerns, assured us he would take care of everything, and upgraded us to a nicer room. His service really stood out and made our stay much better. The hotel location is excellent—right on the water with beautiful ocean views. Breakfast was good (buffet style), and the convenience of the area is hard to beat. Our favorite sandwich spot, Beach Hut Deli, is right across the street, and we were even able to walk to the CRSSD Festival from the hotel, which was super convenient. Overall a very nice hotel with an amazing location. Thanks again to Noah for the excellent service

We had a great family stay at this beautiful waterfront hotel. Hotel was wonderful and the team of hospitality professionals was even better. First class service in all departments. Food and beverage manager Ryan was excellent and seemed to be at the hotel during our entire stay. Great job and we look forward to our next visit!

Nice hotel in a great location. The property has nice restaurants. The room was spacious, clean, and well stocked with complimentary water. There is a heated pool with plenty of chairs and loungers. The hotel is beautifully decorated for the holidays. I was pleasantly surprised that, as an IHG Platinum member staying on a reward night, the $58 hotel fee was waived for my stay.I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The intercontinental needs to figure out its identity on if it’s a luxury hotel or not. It’s at best a 4 star hotel masquerading with 5 star prices. Pros - the location is good, views are nice, and rooms were clean. Cons - the water pressure was poor, mattresses too soft, and gym too small (in the morning, every equipment was occupied). Despite the price being $600/night, we felt nickel and dime for everything. We paid for a breakfast package when booking the hotel through Chase’s “The Edit”. However, the breakfast package only included the cold dishes at the buffet. Without knowing, we got a single sausage from the hot bar and were charged an extra $14 per person.

Love the IHG family. Excellent location. Beautiful view of the habor and city views. We were lucky enough to see the sunrise and gorgeous twinkling city lights in the evening as well. As for cleanliness in the rooms , its average. The bed is comfortable but the pillows are horrible. The need NEW pillows. They were flatter then my pancakes. No neck or head support after using 6 pillows. My head was still resting on mlthe mattress. Not the restful night. This hotel is kid friendly. The breakfast buffet is great and convenient for our pickiest eaters... our kids. 😊 Our television in our room was operational, meaning broken. Engineer was in and out of our room for a couple hours but still wasn't able to fix it. Which was a blessing, it made my kids talk to eat other and at the same time argued with each other too. No movie night for us. However to be truthful, the quality of this hotel has definitely gone down hill since our last visit from 2 years ago. Our family ❤️ visiting San Diego quarterly but perhaps a different hotel going forward.

We had such a wonderful stay here at the Intercontinental. Our first time staying here & we had the best staycation thanks to Riley Kelley! From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out he was always so helpful and willing to accommodate what he could for us. Such a friendly and professional customer service manners. He made our experience truly so enjoyable! Traveling with toddlers can be exhausting and overwhelming, but we actually felt at ease with everything. Upon check-in he requested things we needed for our kids, such as crib, fridge & other accommodations. We can’t wait to be back and hope Riley will continue to serve the way he did! Even walking through the lobby if we would see him he always greeted us with such positive attitude! Thank you, Riley!

Very good location! We were upgraded to a room on the 15th floor. It’s within walking distance of Seaport Village and the USS Midway Museum. The only downside is that the swimming pool is a bit small. Only a 5-minute walk to the Amtrak station. If you don’t want to deal with driving, just take the train from North Orange County. It was easy and convenient!
