Incredibly hostile place to be. Instead of paying staff, they: hire private security to check receipts when you leave. never staff all checkout lines during peak hours, relying on the customer's labor to self-checkout. heavy use of cameras to monitor customers, feeding your private data into algorithms that erroneously report your bags as stolen goods. keep records of personal purchase history to sell to data brokers.
Lots of options, baked goods made on site, many healthy options, huge produce section. Quick easy check-out process. The Fred Meyer Credit Card by US Bank used with your mobile app will get you 5% cashback, which is difficult to do because many credit card companies see this FM as a "wholesaler" and not a grocery store.
Thank you Fred Meyer Bakery!! I ordered the cake at 48hrs before I needed it and they got it done. The birthday day girl gave very specific instructions for her Hello Kitty Cake and they followed them to a T. She was so delighted, I actually had a tear roll down my cheek.
Absolutely love this Freddies, it is my go to! I feel like its the cleanest one in portland and the employees are always very friendly. Will always drive to this one in particular for my shopping
Edit: Holy crap. I just looked at other reviews for this store and there are SO MANY PAID 5-STAR REVIEWS! Seriously, check it out yourself by looking at reviewer’s profiles. They leave only 5-star, canned reviews. There’s even a profile whose name is “Make Name Acceptable Go” leaving this store a perfect review. Just imagine how low the score would be if Kroger wasn’t buying positive reviews. I hate, hate, HATE shopping here. Much of the stock gets moved to different parts of the store on a regular basis and there appears to be no logic as to where things are placed, so I always wander ailes endlessly, unable to find what I want, until I walk out with nothing out of frustration. Occasionally, if I look around hard enough, I can find an employee who will help me, but the need for help exists virtually every time I enter this store, which should not be the norm. Freddy’s was my favorite store growing up, so I hate to see what Kroger has done to it. Just a horrible, labyrinthine hellscape, where nothing is where it should be and sales no longer exist unless you allow Kroger to collect and sell your data, netting them more than the discount they’re giving you.
This pharmacy is very unorganized and unhelpful. I tried to transfer a medication, and they got the fax number wrong and kept telling me I was not in the system. It took me days to transfer my medication. The workers seem not to understand anything. I would suggest going to a different pharmacy.
This Fred Meyer has sections for everything you need on the individual floor, as well as convenient checkouts near every entrance/exit.
I went to get my son Christmas presents there recently and had a good experience. I appreciate this Fred myer location because they are one of few who sell clothes. And there's lots of parking and not entirely dangerous like a lot of stores feel around Portland.
Why does Fred Meyer keep asking me to review them when I’ve reviewed them already? Is it because they pay for clicks and ads on Google maps? I’m not sure, but I go every week and buy the same stuff. Service is pretty much the same. I use the self check out or grocery pick up service anyway. The pick up service is nice and convenient and staff who bring it out to car are all very nice.
One of best Fred Meyers around. Customer service is top notch. 5 stars for everything they do. Evan The store manager is fantastic.. Candice at self check out is great. I also want to thank Willie at the exit door. I love talking to him and sharing stories. All their employees are fantastic and noligable. It’s sad since I live in Parkrose and have to drive by Gateways Fred Meyers just to get what I need. One word of advice, stay away from the hot food case. Thanks
