I've shopped at several other grocery stores and this Fres Meyers is my favorite. Always clean, tons of selections. Always tons of parking.
Maybe the worst location of one of the worst companies in America. Kroger has destroyed a company that I once was proud to say started in Portland. The history behind this location is extensive and interesting, and I'm sad that I can't in good conscious return to this store again. Every couple months I shop here, forgetting what the last time was like. They're deceptive. They make it extremely difficult to get the prices they advertise. They treat every customer like a criminal. The final straw today was using self checkout. An item didn't scan, and I realized it as I got too close to the bag for the system's comfort. I had already brought it back to scan, but the system scolded me and then proceeded to force me to watch the video of myself. Then, it wouldn't proceed without someone coming over to clear it. She got into it and made us stand there and watch the video again. It's embarrassing, and it's not worth shopping here (yes, shopping, giving Fred Meyer money, not stealing) anymore. I left everything there and went over to New Seasons, happy to pay more for a better experience. But you know what? Milk was over a dollar cheaper here. Not everything is cheaper, but it's worth slightly higher prices to not be treated this way. And if it's not? I can shop at Safeway for a lot less or Winco for even less, and they both treat me better every single time I walk into one of their stores.
They treat you like a prisoner This place is a good store. Fresh produce. Good selection. Nice cheese, wine, meat etc. But after you drop hundreds of bucks on groceries, they make you interact with an armed rent-a-cop to leave the store, who demands to see your receipt. Terrible vibe!
Friendly and helpful staff, from the checkers to customer service desk, produce, cheese, meat and seafood folks and everyone else in between. I always enjoy my time shopping here because the people who work here make it the best place to shop in town. The store is clean, inviting, organized and I feel safe. THANK YOU Freddy's!

was stunned by the flat-out rudeness and illogical enforcement of a policy that, to my knowledge, does not exist. I had just sold my motorcycle—a significant and emotional moment—and accepted a money order as payment because the buyer couldn’t withdraw cash or use mobile apps. A money order is a legitimate, traceable form of payment. So why was I treated like a scammer? Apparently, they refuse to cash money orders if they’re handwritten, and even if purchased in-store, they impose a 48-hour hold. That makes no sense. As far as I know, money orders must be handwritten—it's standard practice. Yet I was met with suspicion, condescension, and zero empathy during a vulnerable moment. There are real scammers out there. I’m not one of them. I was simply trying to complete a lawful transaction, and instead I was treated like a threat. If there’s a policy, it should be clearly posted and consistently enforced—not invented on the spot. This experience was degrading and unnecessary.

I was followed throughout store, meat service counter told me to buy rotten looking freezer burnt meat. Otherwise there was a cashier in self check that was the nicest sweetest lady I've come across in a long time. Cannot remember her name. I had a brace on my knee, she helped me for maybe 1/2 hr. Bagging my groceries and helping me. The meat section was inexcusable
