I purchased an extended warranty with this company. I had to jump through hoops to get them to pay anything. They are very difficult to work with. My mechanic called to submit the claim but they would not authorize rental car payment until the mechanic called back and told them how many days I would need the car. The policy is that they pay for five days rental car. They ended up only authorizing two days rental car and when I turned the car in, I had to call back and hassle with getting another day authorization. I was at Enterprise an extra 30 minutes at least just to take care of the extra day's authorization. They are very unprofessional and difficult to deal with.
I wish there was a - zero star rating option. Worst experience ever dealing with customer service. DO NOT PURCHASE EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM THIS COMPANY. My claim was denied which was covered in my warranty contract. It was denied saying it was a maintenance component! When is maintenance required for the valve inside the transmission?!!! Breach of contract/warranty!!! I will be canceling my contract and consulting with an auto fraud attorney.
I have cancelled my policy and after 90 days I'm still waiting for my money. First Extended is telling me the service dealer needs to do it yet they do know the dealer went out of business but they want me to go through the dealer. Evidently they think I can go to an empty building and start this. Also , if you live within 40 miles of dealer you have to have car serviced there. I live 44 miles from dealer but according to FE 44 is less than 40 so instead of taking my car 2 miles to a 5 star Chevy dealer they say I have to take it 44 miles away no exceptions. Do not buy from companies that show bad faith and unflexable
Called the service center to get authorization to replace drivers mirror glass. The brochure I was given clearly says “mirrors” is covered. Mirrors is not mentioned in the exclusions portion of the brochure. When I signed up for the extended warranty I was given a one page contract and the brochure. The service center claims the mirrors are excluded in the contract (which I never received). Their position remains that they will not cover my repair. I hope I will never have a major claim as I am sure they will try to exclude that as well.
***buyer beware*** I wouldn’t even give them one star. Run if you are ever offered an extended warranty from a dealership with First Extended Service corporation. Even though we were well within warranty coverage at 24,000 miles and our policy doesn’t expire until next year, they refused our repair which clearly should have been covered. They worked harder to deny the claim than they did to support a policy we paid a lot of money for. Our vehicle sat at a dealership for a week while we tried to play their game…it was a FAILED driveshaft, it’s not like we could drive it anywhere…so the dealer started repairs. And of course their representatives told us how we could claim it even tho we started the repair ….nope, don’t fall for that…they won’t let you claim it…”they didn’t authorize it”….do you know how scary it is to know your vehicle with 24,000 miles had a drive shaft failure? Well it doesn’t matter, they won’t stand behind their own policy. So please don’t waste your hard earned money on anything this company has to offer, when you need them they have nothing to offer but excuses.
This is the absolute worst warranty company I have ever dealt with. I have been without my car for 9 days now waiting for an approval that was supposedly going to take 24-48 hours. Every time I speak to them they say that they are sending it to the management team and I will have an answer back in 24 hours. This has now happened 5 times and all they can tell me is that they will reimburse me for a rental for up to five days. So I guess the other 4+ days gets to come out of my pocket. Do not waste your time or money on this place.
Haven’t had my vehicle for four months because they refuse to cover any of the transmission which is in my warranty to be covered. They have hung up on me multiple times. Customer service is the rudest i have ever dealt with before. Never put me through to a supervisor when i ask, they’re always on their break or “too busy”. They take weeks to authorize something that is supposed to take 24-48 hours. You really have to pull strings to get them to do their job. They are currently trying to retract my warranty too so i have to pay for the transmission out of pocket. This company is just full of money hungry children. Do not waste your time with them. They are absolutely ridiculous.
We bought our truck 3 years ago from Steve’s Chevrolet in Chowchilla, CA. They sold us an extended wrap around warranty for a lot of money. Just this week and being out of state for this month our thermostat went out. We call First extended service corp to get the ok to take our truck in which we got the ok. After 3 days in the shop and paying for a rental car they did not want to pay some of the labor. The total was $1120 for parts and labor and they paid $490 leaving us responsible for paying $862. This company really sucks and just trying to get the word out DON’T PURCHASE from this company find someone else. Looking at their reviews and most are negative maybe one star and that tells me a whole lot. We even contacted the dealership about this and they seemed very concerned and were going to check into it and they would call us back. No call we just thought they would like to know of the worthless warranty they are selling their customers!! I guess they all work together. Please don’t purchase your auto warranties from First Extended Sevice Corp (Their other name is Assurant) and they are worthless, look at their reviews yourself. When you spend a lot of money you expect them to come through but we paid over half and they paid maybe less than half, very disappointed!!!!!! Update a few hours after my post, they copy and past most of their responses which mine was and have some kind of link to get back to them through Facebook, instagram etc. Yea that seems like a real professional way to reach out to appeal an Insurance claim. Once again people this is a horrible company and make sure you get your car warranties through someone else!!!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Avoid this company. They refused to pay for the repairs on my Can Am. I purchased this (comprehensive) extended warranty from the dealer but they denied to pay the dealership claim for the repairs. They refused to pay for the faulty wiring harness of my vehicle. The dealer that I originally purchased the service contract from felt so bad that they refunded me the contract purchase price to help me with the bill. They deserve "0" stars.
First Extended Service Corporation and Portfolio RV extended service plan has no interest in helping thier customers and are an extremely unprofessinal organization. I have been on the phone for hours getting transferred from customer service to senior claims review, back and forth stating that I need to speak to the other department that they are unable to assist. After hours of this and asking for a supervisor, I was given all kinds of excuses that they were not available to take a call. Please understand, a supervisor is never "available" to speak to me directly so I can explain the stiuation. Finally after going back and forth, I was asked to submit my request for review in writing. After my service providor submitted thier notes documenting thier labor time to properly diagnose a very complicated electronic failure which included the manufacturer's technical support team, we recieved an email response that we would have an answer in 48 hours. After not receiving any updates on day three, we called back and was told it could take five days for a response. So we patiently waited and gues what, at the end of the fifth day, no response. We called in and gues what, they stated my request was declined. I requested for this request to be put in writing in response to my detailed request and nothing. I am now left with the expense of 11 labor hours as First Extended/Portfolio only authorized ONE HOUR. My service provider followed the proper factory diagnosis as instructed instead of guessing and throwing parts one by one at the repair. This is unbelievable and I will be escalating this concern as there must be laws to protect the consumer in this situation.
