What happened to the fresh daily, made with love, sushi counter!? Now their sushi is from a company called Sushi Maru. I used to get 10 rolls for $8.99. Now you get 8 rolls are $8.49 and they are heavy on the white rice with a little sliver of avocado. The poke bowls are sad too. They used to be packed to the top and came with avocado and seaweed salad amongst other veggies for $14.99. Now they’re still the same price, but the poke bowls have significantly less food inside of them and don’t come with the avocado and seaweed salad. Just fish, rice, carrots, and cabbage. It’s all giving skimpy and a rip off. THEY ALSO GOT RID OF $6 SUSHI ROLL SATURDAYS. I’m so disappointed in you Acme.
Pretty good deals friendly staff I like the clearance area in the back good deals
Customer service that is attentive and polite is difficult to find these days. Mr. Gavin is a young man who does a great job whenever tasked to help with self checkout. Typically the people tasked with this can be abrupt as if they don't want to be bothered or as if they are buying your act. They probably figure a one or two dollar discrepancy. Just pay it and don't bother them. So balancing out Gavin's 5 with the typical 2 or generous 3 brings me to the score of 4 out of 5 stars for Walnut Street Acme.
This is the smallest Acme I've ever ventured to and a lot of selection is at a minimum it gives more of a Trader Joe's feel in selection. The snacks were plentiful and so was all other junk items however in terms of personal care items very minimal selection amongst other things I couldn't even get a large bottle of onion powder.
Only one lane had a cashier, the rest were self check out.
I like making lasagna, baked ziti, and pizza at home, which require mozzarella and ricotta, but I’m lactose intolerant and so is my spouse. Nearly every single grocery store only carries vegan cheese, not lactose-free animal-milk-based cheese. Vegan cheese is not a good substitute, it tastes like sadness and is even worse when reheated. This Acme is the only place in the entire city that has lactose-free mozzarella which is a godsend! But for some reason, they don’t carry the lactose-free ricotta that most other stores carry. This store isn’t located anywhere near those other stores so I have to shlep all the way to Acme at 40th from Giant at 23rd to finish my grocery trip, and even then I only buy the mozzarella. And I’m not alone. This neighborhood is full of other Asian people that are lactose intolerant too. I’d be willing to shop only at Acme if they just stocked both products, which are even made by the same company, Galbani. That would definitely earn five stars from me!
This place has a sushi bar run by a 3rd party which used to be Yummi Sushi and they had consistently decent meals (not restaurant quality but good all the same). Sadly they replaced that company and the quality of the food took a significant nose dive. The meal I ate felt like punishment, it felt like I was paying for abusing my own taste buds. I will never buy another sushi product from this store again
Great service, very competent staff, I recommend everyone!, congratulations Acme.
Clean store but u need to hire more people to restock your shelves on the weekend Also please clean the milk and eggs selection if the product is sold out . Also u guy need to close the self checkout when the store is busy and let people use the cashier ,so less back up and people moving out faster . Your fruit selection is very nice and fresh, so keep up the good working .
The bread part needs upgrade. Some brand are empty and some have short exp date
