I Didn’t see any gluten free options in the bakery section. And there was no staff there to help. I asked someone in a different department to call a staff member which they did but no one came quickly.
The grocery stores in Philly leave little to be desired, but the Acme on 40th and Walnut is the worst! Today, I was walking through the produce aisle looking for shallots. At first, I couldn’t find them. A male Acme employee walked near me and I said, “Excuse me, Excuse me!” Trying to get this man’s attention to ask for help. He saw me and proceeded to walk past me as he was digging in his eye. Terrible customer service!
Why is this store selling expired snacks that went bad in September of 2025 to me on April 15 2026?? DO NOT BUY WOWZA KRISPY RICE BITES from this store! and CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATES. Also the solution offered by customer service was "you can return them if you'd like", after I've already eaten them and they tasted like paint, which prompted me to check the date.
I absolutely loved this market. Fresh food and great deals. Want to thank Ashawna in the seafood dept for helping me and my daughter, she was extremely kind. The entire staff was very welcoming and polite.
I came in today to buy a few items. While at the self-checkout, one of the items was $16 which is way more than what the shelf said. So I went back and to make sure it said what I thought it said and then I called over the self-checkout attendant. She went back and saw it for herself and would not honor the price even though there was multiple of that item on the shelf. She said that the item on sale was for another similar item.
Nice little store with super helpful workers! Always a pleasure shopping there. I don't think ive ever waited in line for more than 2 or 3 minutes either... I hate to admit it, but I always seem to forget this store is here, I have for years. It's a shame, cause it's a great place to shop!
Overall Good. The cold hoagie section does not have good tuna hoagies. They cost too much for the amount of food items provided in the tuna hoagies! Many other items are alright to eat. Prices are generally high, but when have they gone down since COVID!?
Ofc a bit more expensive than Aldi but generally well priced. It's tight up and down isles and can get quite packed when busy. At times can be difficult to find what you're looking for. But once you get it down, it's a fine store. Clean, well stocked most of the time, most staff are awesome and kind, nice central location for us.
Good evening Google Family. This place saved me today. I was thank goodness, able to get money for my Lyft driver. I believe in always tipping them in addition to the tip on the Lyft app. God is so good and I persisted. I walked to 4601 Walnut hoping for a Citizens ATM and that was a lost cause. Then I went to 7 eleven, no Citizens ATM and I asked the employees if they did cash back. They said no and then I left and went back to the Cinemark Movie theatre. I had to get $20.00, I only needed $5.00, but you have to get the money in increments of $20.00. So then I decided to get change from the Acme employee. He was looking for something but he was nice and gladly gave me change for $20.00, a ten, five ones and a 5. Just what I needed. I was so happy!!! I am so happy that I persisted because my Lyft driver that took me home from the Cinemark movie theatre was named Alpha and he was so so nice!!! I am so happy that I was able to give him $6;.00 in addition to the tip on the Lyft App. God is so good, he always comes thru. This reinforces for me that if you keep trying and never give up, God will always help you. Thank you Father God. I had an enjoyable Lyft ride home and thank you Acme markets for allowing me to get my money from the Citizens ATM so that I could tip my Lyft driver, Alpha. Have a great night Google Family, workout, be healthy, Fit and Fabulous!!!!!
For a small local grocery store this place has everything you need and then some. During my first visit a cashier went out of his way to quickly sign me up for savings even though there was a line of people waiting to pay for their groceries. Great prepared food section as well.
