Wow! Since the last time I was in the neighborhood and this store, the place has changed--and for the better! I'm not sure why Acme bought out this Fresh Grocer, but I'm glad they did. First, this Acme has an older, more mature staff who knows how to handle the store flow and customers. Secondly, they renovated the floor design to a far brighter and more organized place. Yeah, the aisles are still small, but that's due more to the limitations of inheriting a space than the poor planning of it. Acme did a great job with what they got-- and I *love* it!!
An armpit of a store. The prices are far too high and the selection leaves much to be desired. To add insult to injury, they are too cheap to fully validate your parking. It's a better deal to go to whole foods.
Great selection of meats, vegetables, fruits, soft alcohol, and anything you can really need. It's always bright, clean, and well-organized. 95% of the employee encounters I've had have been pleasant and helpful.
security guard is so racist it's actually unbelievable. we got to the store at 10:45pm and was right behind a white man, who the security guard let in, but he would not let us asians in. when confronted, the guard would not tell us why he let the white man in but not us. do not put up your hours as closing at 11pm if you're going to not let people in. more importantly, don't hire racist fools.
Very good selection of high end groceries but like all Acme locations their prices are Higher than other markets. I found the employees eager to help, ready to be of assistance, courteous, and motivated to give customers a worthwhile shopping experience. I only buy their bargains or when there is no other alternative because I have to watch my pennies.
They have beautiful flowers, although their prices have gone up; it’s still a go-to place for all occasions.
Multiple staff members were unable to assist me when the self-checkout overcharged me. I was first told by the attendant that no one could help me since the customer service desk was closed for the day, and told me I needed to return the next day. When I asked for the manager I was told they were busy. I did not have the chance to speak with the manager directly as one of the attendants was acting as their go-between. Calling corporate did not help either as the representative did not understand my problem and repeatedly tried looking up my rewards account.
We came here mostly for the parking garage, which is free for the customers up to a time limit (I want to say 2 hrs but I’m not sure), however, there is also paid public parking there, not showing up on Google Maps as stand alone Parking, which we used for a few hours on Friday afternoon, and it was relatively empty and felt safe. The ACME elevators taking us up and down was a good perk.
I don't know if the store manager has changed recently at this location but my recent experiences both in store and with my online delivery order have been the worst. I'm a FreshPass member for several years and an ACME shopper for decades in Philadelphia. I have lived in this neighborhood for over 40 years even before this was an ACME at this location. First, I use the app to plan out my shopping list to make sure I have all the coupons and deals clipped and the exact amount my order will cost because I'm on a tight budget. Second, I always use self-checkout because I can check to make sure the prices are correct as advertised and that I'm getting my discounts. I usually have only between 15 - 20 items each shopping trip and I'm out of there in under an hour. I know that store and how to use those self-checkout better than the associates. I have never had any issues until recently. The associate refused to let me use self-checkout claiming I had too many items and wanted me to wait in line for a cashier. There were empty self-checkout kiosks and no one behind me waiting to use them while I would have to wait in line for a cashier. When I politely asked him to allow me to check out, he went and got the store manager. Now I know the manager's new because I haven't seen him before and he also refused to allow me to check out myself. So, I politely went and returned everything to the shelves, which took me less than 5 minutes and left. I ordered everything I needed from Walmart with my Walmart+ membership with free delivery. Now for the past couple of years I have mainly shopped ACME online every 2 or 3 times a week because I don't want to deal with the associates at the store. Before, I've had very few issues with my orders. Everything has always been delivered on time, with only a couple of instances of missing or damaged/expired items. Those were easily resolved and refunded within an hour of being reported through the app. Until my last online order. First, I scheduled my order for 12pm-2pm delivery and received a text at 9:51am to confirm my order was received. Then I received a text at 11:53am to say they were shopping my order. Now that means my order wouldn't be delivered by 12pm, but I was fine with that as long as I got it by 2pm. My order wasn't big, just 12 items, with multiples of some of the items. It would have taken me less than 15 minutes if I went to the store myself. Now I'm constantly checking my app for the status of my order. Then I get an email at 12:24pm with my receipt stating my order is ready for delivery. So I'm waiting for the text ACME sends out when a driver has picked up the order and is on their way, but I get nothing. And on the app it just keeps saying "Ready for delivery". Well, at 2:02pm, ACME texts an apology saying they're still waiting for a driver. But, then Door Dash texts saying they were waiting for my order at 2:39pm. So, I called the store at 2:48pm, and the man who answered was rude, didn't even ask about my issue, just said call Customer Support and hung up on me. I called Customer Support and they called the store, who told them my order was picked up at 1:27 or 1:57pm (couldn't really understand her with her strong accent). If that's the case, why did they text me with an apology at 2:02pm for the delay because they didn't have a driver? Also, their normal procedure then would be to text me that my order was out for delivery and I would then be able to track the driver on the app. But the app was still showing "Ready for delivery". Now they refuse to give me a full refund and just keep telling me they're investigating my case.
I don’t typically shop at this location but I was in the area & figured it would be nice to see if your grocery store offered better quality meats. There’s a lot of empty shelves as soon as you walk in but that wasn’t the biggest issue. Checking out, your employee was beyond rude! I asked for a supervisor assist but she’s way too busy on FaceTime to really fix any issues! Groceries are expensive, so I can take my money elsewhere.
