WORST experience of my life. To put it nicely, customer service here is TERRIBLE! I asked an employee to cancel an item for me and was responded to with a disrespectful attitude. As someone who also works in customer service I WOULD NEVER treat a customer the way I was treated today. If you don’t like your job DON’T take it out on the customers.

OK, it’s about time I Reviewd this ACME . I’ve told the Employees it’s the Best in the City and I think better than the suburbs. The people who work there have been there for awhile and are Very good at their jobs . They know where things are and Will actually help you, clean bathrooms , efficient cashiers and you don’t seem to have lousy drivers entering and exiting the parking lot. Great Deli and Fish counters, a special shout out to Mike behind the deli counter. He’s a real solid South Philly guy. I enjoy talking to him every time I go in and the guy who’s in Fish department. My only complaint is that ACME is now doing what GIANT has been doing for a long time. You have to buy multiple items for a good discount and Digital Coupons really piss me off but this Supermarket is a Winner. I just hope this Albertsons/ Kroger merger doesn’t spoil it

A woman with black hair at the self-checkout refused to honor a coupon from P&G, claiming to check with a Manager. I took my business to Giant. Giant accepted it with no questions. Get rid of her.

This has to be one of the worst and dirtiest markets I have ever seen with the highest prices in town. The pricing is out of control. The place is filthy. Specially the parking lot and their carts. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s constantly always has trash in it’s carts when you go to get one, half of them, don’t work properly. This place really needs a pricing overhaul and management change.

Love the huge free parking lot at this Acme location near the Passyunk neighborhood. The employees are friendly and the store is generally well-stocked. Use their JustforU app to get weekly savings rewards for $ off your trip. My rating is because their produce department is not as good as the 2 other local Acme stores. Not as well stocked, and the produce is not quite as fresh. It's across the street from CVS and close to other local stores if you need to do a multi-stop shopping trip with free parking.

Pros: they sell beer, they have some vegan/vegetarian options (though they’re placed randomly throughout the store), pretty quick to pay and leave through self checkout Cons: be careful with sale prices - they’re often not applied during checkout, they’re often out of stock - especially produce, for some reason they have a giant suburban parking lot that’s almost always 75% empty and only two very small sidewalks to walk to the store front despite most people walking there, they don’t have baskets at all and the carts are often in pretty bad shape.

Security guard intimidates and curses at customers if they don’t sell him Pokemon cards they buy from the vending machine. He physically blocks the machine and checks it before you walk up to it to make sure it is empty, and if it isn’t, he will buy them himself in front of you. If you do get anything before he is able to take it, he will try to make you sell it to him and if you refuse, he will get angry and start complaining about you to other customers and employees. I have no idea why this store allows employees to harass customers and solicit them for his side hustle while on the job, it is ridiculous. He is particularly condescending to women. When my wife said she wasn’t interested in selling to him, he got animated, started waving his arms around and yelling at her, and went to another employee to yell and curse about her. How is this guys still working here???? There are so many reviews from different people about the same thing, this guy is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Hello. I have been at this Acme and some fellow Pokemon collectors have experienced incident with this staff when trying to use the Pokemon vending machine. Some Pokemon players have felt intimidated by security guards there. They talked to a manager that didn't seem to care. We think the staff here is hostile to us Pokemon players/collectors. We have a right to use this machine and they're making it difficult for us.

I was impressed with the Acme on 1400 Passyunk Avenue. It’s a lovely supermarket with great produce as well as a great selection of everything from kosher for Passover products to pasta! It seems to be the only large supermarket in this neighborhood!
