September 2020 I gave birth at SJM. I would like to commend the staff, nurses and doctors for being very attentive and knowledgeable anytime I had any questions. As a first time mother, I came prepared for anything but also with my birth plan in tow. The team was more than understanding when I requested specifics about my treatment even when I changed my mind. There are quite a few residents and students but all have the greatest intentions and are kind. Our private accommodations were nice and tidy but not the newest. Very few updates have been made but it is clean. Housekeeping and food staff are very kind and always had great attitudes. I give the facility overall 4 out of 5 stars simply because they could use some updates.
Excellent service.. Starting from the actual hospital tour, to delivering my baby, and all the way to being discharged I was amazed with such great service provided. Every one that took care of us while being there did it with such care, patience and professionalism. I felt peaceful, listened to, and at ease during my stay. Thank you to all the staff for making this such a wonderful experience. It takes a big heart to work in a hospital and this staff definitely has the Love for people and their careers.
I requested an itemized billing statement on behalf of a client over a month ago. They have not produced it, confirmed receipt of the request, or provided any information other than numbers to call that end up being wild goose chases. I am, unfortunately, going to have to report them to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to try and get itemized billing.
The nursing staff in recovery were remarkable. Especially Laura who went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed when my check out was delayed. Everything went well and it was a great day, minus my oxygen level sinking and delaying our departure. Despite that Laura made my day a great one even with just having surgery.
Of i could give 0 stars i would. This hospital is the worse. My brother died after being intubated. He refused to be intubated and they did it against his and my mom's will. Please do not go here. There's a reason why this place is emptymy brother was transferred here from lbj amd for what ? For then to intubate and keep him sedated because every time he woke up he wanted to take off the tubes. My brother called me when they were trying to do it amd he was talking fine he had covid but he wasn't struggling to breath my mom talked to them amd they agreed no intubation. When he didn't answer the phone anymore my mom came to the hospital amd we found him intubated ... they will pay for this. If not in this life God will take care of it. Now im mourning the life of my 27 yo baby brother. Please be careful and of they send you here from another hospital ask questions and don't go alone we should have never left my brother alone there
Had to have an emergency hernia repair. Staff there is wonderful! My nurse was caring and met all of my needs.
This is a Fantastic Hospital! Usually there is not a long wait. The people working there are very skilled and knowledgeable about what they need to do to help and take care of me whenever I come. I always leave with the best medical treatment and good instructions about how to take care of myself when I get home. Wherever I am in the city, when I have a medical emergency, I always tell the ambulance to take me to St. Joseph's Hospital Downtown. I don't want to go to any other Hospital. For the best experience....This is a great place to receive medical treatment!✨️👏🏽✨️🙌✨️🥰✨️💎✨️💯✨️

I am absolutely shocked to witness employees of this medical center displaying such disturbingly unprofessional and reckless behavior online. This kind of conduct severely damages the credibility and trustworthiness of the entire institution. As long as individuals like Zara are employed here, I cannot and will not recommend this medical center to anyone it feels unsafe and deeply irresponsible.
I’ve got admitted and haven’t seen a doctor in 2days all they keep doing is giving me pain meds I need to know exactly what’s going on with me and not a nurse told me anything just laying here in this unsanitary room untill one day a dr come. Don’t recommend
