I had wonderful experience giving birth to my daughter at St Joseph's. The doctors and nurses in the delivery room for really helpful. I came in and delivered my baby within in the hour. After I delivered we were both admitted and the level of care I received was absolutely excellent. My baby was born a couple of weeks early so she had some health issues and she was admitted to the NICU. I can't thank the nurses in the NICU enough. Tiffany, Michelle, Lana, Bean, Sarah, y'all are amazing.
Having my first pregnancy here was a very traumatic experience for me. Being uneducated about the way hospitals work for first time parents, we only wanted to the best our soon to be daughter. We ran so many tests that were not needed and that only benefited them financially. My doctor, Rhinehart, was so detached, the way she treated me made me want to cry. She had 3 children so I thought she would know how much of a big deal this was for me. She was absent for half of our appointments, even though we paid her upfront of course. Her assistance were doing more than she was and a lot more personable & empathic. On my delivery day she did not show up until I was 11 cm but that is not all. I told her countless of times, I wanted a natural child birth. I lived a block away so I planned to stay home until my contractions got worse. She scheduled me to get an induction without notifying or communicating that to me. When I went to the hospital to talk to them, they were trying to hold me against my will. Mind you, I was perfectly healthy during my whole pregnancy and so was my baby. I was also one cm when arriving to the hospital. They said she was growing fast and if I wanted a natural childbirth, I needed to be induced which makes no sense. She scheduled me to get two different methods of induction, one of them being a Foley Bulb, which, in most cases, causes C sections (something I also told her I did not want to do). My sister got a C section and lost so much blood after this same method of induction. They said they wanted to limit the times they go into my vaginal canal in order to avoid infections but their actions said different. I was really scared and if it wasn't for one nurse secretly telling me the do's and don's, I feel like they would have messed over yet another person of color. Others may have a different experience but I would not recommend this hospital, especially for first time parents. Even during my postpartum period, I had to go to another OB to get the proper after care I needed. The way she examined me hurt, and they prescribed me medicine that said BOLDLY on the front, I can not take while nursing. I feel like I was scammed, and robbed of what was supposed to be the best memories of my life
This hospital service was mediocre . I went here to the emergency room for poison and their service was wack. I didn’t receive the proper care I needed. They was more focus on their coworkers singing then really seeing about their patients. This hospital need to do be with care of the patients that come in the emergency room. They assume I was having an anxiety attack and gave me a pill for that when I just told them that I had poison blown in my face. They told me they couldn’t do much for but orders me an inhaler. Lied to me about ordering me pain medication for my headache. The nurse here was very inexperienced. She didn’t know what she was doing but the doctor in charge let her get away with it. Please go to another hospital if you want great service because this hospital don’t care at all inside this emergency room.
My brother had a major stroke and other complications been ICU since Dec17 2023-Jan. If you ever need ICU these nurses and doctors are the most professional, courteous to patients and family members, attentive and caring. We felt assured that our family member was getting the best of care!
Recently delivered my daughter here & had the absolute BEST nurse there, Mrs. Lisa J! She was amazingly helpful & made me so comfortable. Was the sweetest & so caring towards my daughter, myself & all my concerns. On the other hand, the night shift was horrible. My room was right across the nurse station & for just giving birth I got no rest, they were extremely loud, unconsiderate & wouldn't answer when the nurses button was hit. The heat/ac was not working in my room as well as others so me & my daughter were stuck in an either very hot room or an extremely cold room. If it wasn't for my amazingly sweet nurse the whole visit would've been a nightmare but she went above & beyond to try to make things better & for her in grateful! Proving some people still put their hearts into their jobs!
My girlfriend had a surgery done at St Joseph's and the nursing staff at the women's center they were amazing. Melissa and Ruth they are very caring, attentive, and one of the main reasons I will give this hospital a 5 star rating. They were there to answer our questions and they also kept her as comfortable as they possibly could. We had seen a lot of bad reviews, but the women's center is very nicely kept and maintained. They also had a pullout part on the couch that also made my stay pretty comfortable. Keep up the good work ladies!!
If i could give this hospital 0 stars, I would. After my third night admitted on the 4th floor, I woke at midnight to ask for water. Instead, the nurse called two more nurses into my room to administer medication. The two nurses yelled and told me that I was not supposed to be out of bed then lied and said that the doctor ordered a tranquilizer to help me sleep. After the first dose, the nurse said that I needed another dose to make sure I went to sleep. The second intravenous dose was the overdose that damaged my internal organs. My heart went into cardiac arrest several times before they released me without treating me in the emergency room. It is now over 6 years later and although I have survived, my heart is enlarged and it was found that the left atrium or mitral heart valve was damaged causing regurgitation that can lead to heart failure. Mitral valve regurgitation is curable only by replacement of the valve through bypass heart surgery. I also have an early onset of sciatica that is believed to be caused by the injuries suffered from my visit to this hospital. Several cases of medical malpractice have been reported and investigated at this hospital. Avoid this hospital during any kind of routine or emergency care if at all possible.
It was such an amazing experience & shout out to all the nurses from L&D team. They are beautiful inside out. They are caring & make my stay very comfortable during my delivery process. The security guy was helpful also.NICU nurses are wonderful at taking care of my newborn too.Thank u all so much for your hard work .U all are true hero for my family. Will recommend highly of this Hospital to others. Note:(I wish that the ER lobby is alittle big bigger in the future, It was crowded & not much chairs or space for the patients.I understand it's a pandemic time but it just feel so small).
I wish I could give more stars…… I had multiple nurses that were ✨AMAZING✨ But one stood out. All I got was her name was Leigh-Ann I don’t have her last name but she was our day nurse for two days that we were there and she was beyond amazing. She made sure both me and my newborn son were taken care of and she was super knowledgeable and caring. It was a scary experience of having my first son and she made everything less stressful. If I could leave a review for just her I would. I hope she sees this and I hope any other moms get her as a nurse .
I went for an x-ray two weeks ago. No results! Ridiculous!
