Had to enter through ER to visit a patient brought in earlier. Rude, ER lobby had vagrants in and out. Staff was helpful when they thought we were family but they kept our church member in pain, gave her little help with pain while they reset her ankle and released her only to find out that she did indeed have a fracture and having been trying to navigate on it had only hurt it. Not recommended!

The employees were great buttttt the building is old and needs a serious deep cleaning. The bed I was in was horrid it has some nasty looking dried crap on it I immediately had my husband scrub it, the bathroom sink was not thoroughly cleaned so I scrub it myself the door frame had what looked like something dripped and dried there and the floor edges and baseboards need attention. My overall care was great excluding the food quality.

Never thought I’d leave a review for a hospital, but I was genuinely impressed with how warm, attentive, and friendly everyone was—from reception all the way to surgery. Every staff member I encountered was kind, patient, and reassuring, which made a stressful situation much easier to handle. I wasn’t a patient myself, just someone anxiously waiting and hoping for a successful outcome. Even as a visitor, I felt well taken care of, and it was clear that the people here truly care about their patients and their families. One small tip: Bring a fleece pullover or a small blanket—it gets pretty cold inside!

Emergency Room- Very unfortunate visit. (EMS took he to closet ER to my hotel) I was in town for a conference. Just awful. Ignored. Left in treatment room without call light. 4 hours before my dislocated finger was treated. FNP that treated me was great. And the original nurse was attentive, once shift change I had to walk to the nurses desk to ask for help. Dispo room is a supposed to be faster it is not!! Dirty, ripped curtains in treatment room and call light once I found it hanging on the wall did not work. Not to mention never once asked my name before giving meds just scanned my bracelet.

Why does this hospital have 4 stars I was certifiably sick with a stomach ache I had that caused me so much pain from throwing up every 15-30 mins.i couldn’t even hold down food. it got so bad I started to throw up bowel. I didn’t know what was wrong with me these people kept me in there hospital for 3 days not knowing what was wrong with me neither . The nurse I receive gave me a IV and She didn’t even insert it right in my arm all day I received no fluids because the IV had stopped when another nurse came in and she said the cord to the machine that controlled the I’ve was not plugged in ! My began to become swollen not only I wasn’t receiving fluids but it was inserted into my vein improperly. Then within those 3 days of misery in this place the nurse kept coming in the door every 5-6 hrs asking me was I ready for my meds which was freaking Morphine. I asked when will I see a doctor and nobody could tell me when. These people drugged me for 3 days in a row with morphine to the point I refused meds and decided to be discharged. When I asked for my papers for my nurse name they wouldn’t give it to me. They did nothing to help me I left in pain but could not bare another day there. As I was walking out someone was screaming out that the place is misery and they haven’t seen a doctor in weeks. Honestly if I can sue these people I would. All the nurses there look like they were on drugs moving so slow without a doubt. I do not recommend this hospital. I went to a hospital in Pearland and was treated right away they figure I needed something called a GI drink it was the cure to my stomach problem. Don’t trust st Joseph I’m telling you far the worst hospital I ever went to.

From the point of check in to check out I had a great experience. Everyone so kind and helpful. The wait time was long but that was not a reflection of the hospital, I believe that it was due to my doctor. My procedure went well and it was a great transition. Everyone in the surgical was very friendly and each person that walked by greeted me with the exception of my doctor that was performing my procedure. 🤔 imagine that. The person that took me into the room where my procedure was done, was very kind. It was a pretty awesome experience. The recovery room nurses need some training on respect, kindness and politeness. My nurse never asked or informed me about the bathrooms. After having a colonoscopy I believe every patient needs to go to the bathroom due to the air and the pressure, she said just go ahead and pass gas don’t hold it in. It just seemed as though she wanted me out. Get dressed and out you go. No compassion or friendliness that I had experienced everywhere else in the hospital. Ideally that would cause a loss of one star but because my experience was so awesome I could not take away a star. It was a great experience!!

I want to give a shoutout to the staff at SJH for the wonderful care they gave me prior to and after my recent back surgery. Prior to surgery, Athena in pre admission was wonderfully kind and helpful (and efficient!) at getting my work up done and answering all my questions and calls, always with a smile. Following surgery my nurses were very helpful and kind, treating me as their own family member. We had a VERY loud patient on our floor, and my nurse moved me to another room, never once acting as if it was the slightest bother! High five to my 5th floor nurses, Bernadette, Nelly and Erica! You made a world of difference in my stay there! (The only reason for the 4 was the broken hospital bed I was moved to—still better than the screaming patient, and the yicky food. And I actually usually like hospital food!!)

PLEASE don't come here - I was unfortunately sent here due to the horrendous recommendation of CareNow Midtown and it was the biggest mistake of my life. The staff are overworked and neglect their patients. After an extensive stay in their ER (because they would not listen to me) they FINALLY listened to my needs and was admitted to the hospital for follow up surgery. My initial room was without AC and I had passed out due to the heat. After being moves, they postponed surgery with notification only MINUTES before the scheduled time which caused me to be without liquids or foods for almost 48 hours. I was severely dehydrated . It was taking on average *2 hours* to receive water. By the time I requested pain medication - it took over *4 hours* to receive - not due to any medical need - just sheer negligence. I had 4 different members of staff come to me insisting to know about my insurance information and ability to pay BEFORE seeing a surgeon. I drove myself to the hospital and my vehicle was broken into during my stay and was still charged over $50 for parking by the hospital. Over the course of my hospital stay, their staff blew out 4 of my veins. The only kind nurse that helped me (Jonathan, a complete hero) was able to set up my IV with no issue. The surgeon, Dr. Garza, was the only other bright spot of the stay as she was professional, heard my concerns and had an admin meet me so I could relay all the difficulties I was facing. I felt my stay was just too long and by the last day I had stopped eating, drinking or MOVING I was just so defeated and feeling tortured. Don't send your worst enemy here. I know I was sent here due to proximity - but I implore you, take the time to go ANYWHERE else.
