Brought in a bin full of great quality and name brand clothes and was not offered a penny! I live 40 minutes away and told us to come back in 2 hours and just to tell my husband they don’t want to accept anything because they are very selective about the clothes. When I went in there to see what they are so selective on the type of clothing the clothes are basically all SHEIN and shirts have HOLES in them! Was my first time ever visiting and definitely my last. Was just a very big waste of time and disappointment.
I honestly left this Plato’s Closet with anger. I dropped off a box of clothes to sell. Honestly, the cardboard box was worn, but I had taped it securely and made sure everything was folded. All of the clothes were clean, straight from my closet. About an hour later, I got a text saying my items had been “processed,” so I came back, not expecting much. They told me they couldn’t take anything because of pet hair, which frustrating because its literally from my closet, but okay sure. I have many pets so there is probably some pet hair on it. HOWEVER, the part that really shocked me was how they gave my things back. The box was completely destroyed. Not even taped together anymore. They just handed me a pile of clothes in a collapsing box and expected me to carry it out myself. It is no one's business, but I have heart disease, and I physically struggled trying to lift and drag that heavy box across the parking lot while it was falling apart. The employee struggled when even lifting it up to hand it to me to give it back. Clothes were literally spilling everywhere, and not one employee offered to help or even acknowledge how difficult it was. I had to pull my car up to the door and wrestle everything inside, then have my family help me unload it at home. It was humiliating. I don’t care that they didn’t buy anything. I care that they treated my belongings with zero respect or me with basic human decency. I will not be back.
They are very picky on only what they want. Even if the clothes have tags on them they don’t tend to buy them. They low ball you on majority of the items. It’s best to sell your items at a garage sale or selling app. A few of the clothes I tried on had a very bad smell of cigarettes. No restrooms to the public or customers. So if you plan to go through everything go before or just DON’T shop there at all. Long line for registers and it’s hot inside the store. At this time July 2023, they are only taking one bin.
I dropped off two bags full of barely worn, clean clothes and shoes for them to sort through. Within 30 minutes, I received a text stating they were done. The only thing they took is a pair of old ADIDAS sneakers and they gave me $14. There were clothes from Zara, Old Navy and a few other brands in the bags. I am not sure what they are looking for or what their process is but they don’t seem to offer good deals or have good taste judging from some of the actual clothes for sale in the store. What a waste.
Took items yo sell and the lady was just cold. They say they can't take your items because they are worn or not in style well let me say that alot of the items in that store are not the latest looks and also look worn. Not worth taking your items there unless you plan to get rid of your new clothes. Very disappointed and discouraged and will never return to that store.
Terrible girls to pick the clothes no idea what is in style or not. I had clothes from Zara that they said was out of style just bought the end of 2025 new clothes I had the same problem before didn’t even check the clothes because they assumed the clothes were mine and send me to Menthor to old ladies clothes . I had clothes from my teenage daughter Alter State expensive dresses this means that they don’t even check the clothes.
I had an amazing experience at Plato’s Closet, all thanks to Brandy! Even while working the register, she was super attentive and didn’t hesitate to help me find specific styles or offer great suggestions. Her friendly attitude and genuine willingness to assist made my visit so enjoyable. I’ll definitely be returning!
This is a higher end thrift store. Mostly women's clothing, but a small men's section as well. The store is organized well by size, and the fitting rooms are spacious. Employees are friendly and helpful.
Maddie, Margo, and the rest of the team was awesome! Super friendly and helpful. Plato’s West is the best Plato’s location I’ve been to!!!
I was really disappointed with my experience at Plato’s Closet. The staff was not very friendly and seemed uninterested in helping. They didn’t accept many of my items even though they were in good condition, and the payout was much lower than I expected. The store was also messy and hard to shop in. I probably won’t be coming back.
