I kept seeing this place all over Facebook and then decided to make the drive over to check it out. It's such a great store! Staff members are very friendly and everything is kept neat and clean, no clothes laying around or items scattered on the floor. Dresses and clothes are separated by size and plenty of clearance items throughout the location, I walked out with a large bag stuffed with NB-9Months assorted clothing and walked out spending only 45 dollars. Items ranging from 2 dollars to 10 from what I've seen on clothing, you can't beat it. Such sweet little dresses for a steal of a deal! They carry strollers and bassinets as well, very nicely priced. Shoes... hats... bows... toys... as you can tell, I'm very pleased with Once Upon A Child and I will be coming back without a doubt. Maybe it *wasn't* a good idea for me to check them out... solely for the fact that I'm definitely going to be driving down from New Braunfels more often! ;-)
It has been awhile, but I figured I'd make a review in case i can save others some time. I had taken a bin of clothes to sell and the turn around time was 24 hours (which was fine). I got one text notification the following day, which was Saturday. I had forgotten about it until I got the text notification again I believe it was Monday. When I went to pick the bin up, they told me they had cashed me out at store credit. At the other locations, they call before doing so and I did not receive such notice. Annoying, but it is what it is. However, they failed to notify me that store credit expires within 3 months. The communication between employees and customers at this store is severely lacking.
Not really a fan of how they low ball you. Then price it at almost new.

NEGATIVE 3 STARS Completely unprofessional! Save yourself the drama! Going here just cost us time, money & our peace. I ended up giving my mom the $12 they offered me for her gas money, as she had made 4 trips in the past 2 days. They made the mistake of giving my mother the wrong bin (they went by HER last name, rather than mine). When I called to ask why my bin wasn't returned, they had just found out their mistake. The ACTUAL owner of the bin was there & was rightfully upset. So they ask if my mother could return the money ($27+) & items... (she lives on other side of town & I was out of town, due to their 24hr pickup slot, I was not able to finish the transaction). We asked for compensation in form credit at the store or gas money due to amount & cost of gas for just one way 35 minute trip, ALONG WITH INCONVENIENCE THEY CAUSED. (McDonald's gives you a cookie for handing you the wrong order, right? Well we drove off to the other side of town before we realized the wrong order) They denied any form of compensation. So my mom asks "so then there's nothing keeping me from keeping the clothes & money?" (Not her intentions) & they respond with "if you want to be like that" & threaten to file a police report for THEFT - when they were the ones who HANDED my mother the clothes. They refused to any offer type of aid in resolving this problem, it was all on us to fix this, as if we had intentionally taken the wrong clothes. Long story short, THE MANAGER was completely unprofessional, she bullied my mother & did nothing to make up for her employees mistake. I actually had spoken with a hourly employee, I believe it may have been a Jasmine or Desiree, she had a much better mindset & attitude to be managing the store. (Look into giving her the management job, seriously!) I will be sticking with Kid to Kid & garage sales - I don't even want to try another Once Upon A Child store, as it seems their systems aren't properly functional.
When I went to sell my clothes, the employees there were rude as can be. They refused me service because they already had too much stuff to look through from other people. Not to mention when I tried buying stuff from them my husband purchased something before me and they asked him if he wanted to be in the rewards, and I was buying stuff right behind him and she didn’t even ask me. That seems a little hypocritical. I’m very disappointed in the staff and the way they communicate to their customers. All we are trying to do is get clothes for our babies and they want to ruin our day. Will NOT be going back there
I was there earlier today to sell some items including a bassinet. The bassinet was rejected because the warning label was cut off. As I was looking around I came across a bag of Bunchems being sold for $10. Ya'll realize those toys are on a list as dangerous toys. Parents complained that the balls would get stuck not only in a child's hair, but on carpet and pets too. No parents in their right mind would buy Bunchems, especially at $10. What's wrong with you? You won't buy a perfectly good bassinet all because of a missing label. But you're willing to sell a potentially dangerous toy! 🤦 What's the deal with the ridiculous policy that everything needs to be in an 18 gallon container? Reusable bags are much better. They take up less space and they are not heavy. I didn't see any employees rushing to help me keep the door open while I struggled to bring the container in!
I visited Once Upon a Child recently, and my experience was very mixed. Outside the store, I was warmly greeted by Aidette (I hope I’m spelling her name right). She was incredibly kind, polite, and helpfulshe even carried my bin inside for me because I had my hands full with my kids. She also told me she’d let the person at the front know the bin was mine when signing in my clothes to be sorted for pricing. Unfortunately, my interaction inside the store was the complete opposite. As soon as I walked in, a woman (I didn’t get her name) looked at my bin and immediately said, “We can’t take that,” in a harsh and unfriendly tone. There was no greeting, no attempt at customer service. She explained my bin was “too big” and that they didn’t have space for it, even though my clothes were in bags inside the bin and the amount I brought was reasonable. She did offer a “loaner bin,” but her tone and demeanor made the whole exchange unpleasant. She seemed more interested in complaining to another co-worker than helping customers. This was disappointing, especially for a children’s store where you expect a friendly and welcoming environment. My mom has also had a similar negative experience with the same employee. Because of that, I probably would not recommend this location to others. The only positive part of my visit was Aidette nkindness she’s a great example of how customer service should be done.
I always find stuff for my son and nephew. Everytime I go the staff is kind. Good variety of items as we've even gotten my son a training bike from here. When we do sell items we know it may not be same day we hear back, but they're helpful!
Its like Gamestop but for baby clothes,old dont fit? Trade in for credit,all kinds of baby stuff not just clothes
