The location is very convenient however it's very hard to sell at this location. The store looks completely overrun and I think they need a lot more staff and an overhaul. We've tried dropping off 2 weeks in a row but they are at a 2-3 day turn around for your items.
Came with my disabled daughter and her service animal. Manager came over and refused to allow us in because of the service animal. After being kicked out my daughter began to cry out of embarrassment from the interaction. Would definitely not recommend this establishment.
I love shopping here. There is always a great selection. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I love that I can shop for kids clothes on a budget. Kids grow so fast and before you know it, your kid's favorite outfits no longer fit. Thank you for bringing this much needed type of store to our area.
Don’t waste your time even coming here it’s a billion people in the store but the wait is always 2 hours or more for buy backs and they are always a day behind. One day I called to see if they were doing buys she said yes have clothes unfolded flat and no larger than a 28 gallon tote I came 10 minutes later they said oh it will be 2 hours you can wait in the store because your tote is too too big it was a 25 gallon and it wasn’t even full 😂 I said I literally called 10 minutes ago and the girl says well that’s always been our rule she said they were busy doing other things and it could take longer again the tire wasn’t even full 😒 and she also said I had to stay in the store and wait if I did want them to look at it
Was told 3 weeks ago we needed a bin to donate clothes here. Ok that’s fine, had to wait 3 weeks to come back due to my schedule. I took the time to organize and put clothes together in their sets, washed everything of course. Just to drive 30 minutes for them to rudely tell me the bin wasn’t the right size. Why didn’t they tell me this 3 weeks ago? Not going waste more of my time coming back just for them to tell me they won’t accept it again but this time for x y or z reason. Very rude staff and no consideration of other peoples time. Took it to goodwill instead.
This place is awesome if you're a parent! Lots of cool kids clothes to choose from. Really like that everything is colored coded & how the store is organized piece by piece. Customer service was great! I'm satisfied with my time spent at Once Upon A Child.
Great saving ! Update 11/2025 - so far deals are great but there store credit policy sucks. I was not notified that you have use it now within a certain time. Me not living in San Antonio just coming once in a while. Wish there was like post of something or email ? Just honestly take THE CASH I lost $80 that I could’ve used. So it’s in my account just hanging out but can’t be used.
I normally go to a different location but this one is closer to where I moved to but I think I will be traveling across town to have nicer staff and service. I came in with a laundry basket (which the sign on the door says they accept) and was turned away and said it has to be a storage bin. So went the next day and purchased a storage bin and went back but was addressed rudely. I wasn’t even done checking in when a lady opened my bin and said it needed to be taken out and laid flat. The pants were only folded once on the top. Which I understand needs to lay flat but she could have come at the situation with a better attitude. Fixed the clothes and then was shoved my receipt. When I returned later to collect my bin the person that checked me out just didn’t seem to want to be there. Overall the staff was rude and I will go to the other location across town.
This is a clean, beautiful, well organized place to buy gently loved items from premie to big kid size 18. The staff was attentive and helpful without being pushy. They sell mostly used, but some new items. A discerning shopper is sure to find some treasures at reasonable prices.
Got a low offer for my items last time I went even tho I had 3 brand new shoes in the box and another new item. They processed it quickly tho and the store is always clean. I did wait at the counter about 5 mins while employees saw me standing there and talked to each other instead. Other than that its usually a good experience.
