Once Upon A Child - Leon Valley

I have been to both locations and the kid to kid in San Antonio and this one is by far the best! They are so well organized, friendly, clean and so well stocked. I usually hate shopping consignment but this Once Upson a Child organizes the clothing where it makes it easy to be in and out. This store has become my go to shop for all my kids needs.

Th employees are biast and rude. If you annoy because you refuse to take a price they offer you. They will refuse to take anything you bring.

Did a drop off with a brand new pair of shoes in the box. When I went to pick up the offer I noticed the shoes weren’t in the options that were being bought. I checked my bin and they were not in there either. I asked the girl and she found them in the employee work area. I was told they were going to have to check the video and investigate how that happened and I would receive a call back. Two days later I received a text my order was ready. I then called to find out more information as to what happened and was told the employee accidentally separated them from my order. I was not offered an apology or anything and merely told I can take the offer they provide for the shoes or go back to pick them up. I have never checked my containers before in prior drop offs but as I knew I had a brand new pair of shoes, I checked this time. In another recent visit, I too was told they would take 15 minutes to give me a sell back price for a big toy I brought in. This ended up taking over an hour and once again was not offered an apology or anything. I have now lost all trust in this company. Beware and keep an eye especially on the more expensive items you bring in.

I used to be a customer long before I worked at OUAC and while sometimes you can tell the cashiers were going thru it they were usually great when I had my son with me. However last month we parted ways. I went to the store like a week or two later for a prize for my son doing great at school, and Dakota who always says hello to kids and has always said hello to him not only ignored him but I also got the great pleasure of hearing her and the store manager talk about me behind my back. “Why is she even here” and a few other things. Completely unprofessional and as I took my son to the car he’s sad because “why didn’t the nice ladies say hi” thinking he did something wrong. Completely not okay when he’s waving and saying hi to them and all excited. I’d rather go somewhere else if my kid is going to be reduced to tears just because of their personal problems

Staff lacks on communication skills and are not friendly. They expect you to know how things work there when selling/exchanging items for the first time with them. They will raise their voice at you if you do not follow their orders. A congested girl gave me a phone call with attitude saying that I needed to wait in the store, didn’t know it would be a problem I had left to run one more errand and then come back. Didn’t know it was a law at this store to wait until they were done Have only been there twice and was already accused of not following their instructions several times, again, only been there 2 times. I had called the first time I was there to let them know I wasn’t going to make it in time and if it was ok to come back sometime that week and was told it was ok to pick up later in the week since I couldn’t make it back the same day of taking some clothes to sell/exchange, guess they didn’t communicate that with each other and I got a pep talk from one of the staff members Really inconsiderate Again, only been there twice, and last time as well

If you’re a DAD don’t take your resale here!! My wife brings our son’s clothes her; always getting a fair price. My first time doing to drop off, brand name clothing with tags still on them. Only given $1 per item! My wife was is shock once I showed her. Feel completely taken advantage of just because I wasn’t a woman. You can bet I’ll be sharing this on all available platforms.

I’m giving this place a 2 star because before this review I really didn’t have any issues but today took the cake. I took a brand new play mat and I let them know that and told them to not put it on the floor because I seen how dirty the floor was. When i got it back i realize the bottom of the mat was dirty because they put it on the floor. I told them that they dirty the mat and they told me that it will wipe off, that wasn’t the point. They were rude about it and they told me that the can spray some cleaning spray on it. I told them to clean it back to how it was. The lady sprayed the mat and got that spray all over my feet and not once did she apologize for it after i told her she is spraying my feet.I could have had a skin reaction from it. I had to literally to go a store and wipe off my feet with a wet towel. I will never step foot in this place again

Customer service horrible from Amanda, not welcoming at all as directed once I arrived at store to set bin down then sign in. Once finished signing in ticket printed and she explained they would text when ready. This was my first and only time visiting store. They ask that items be layered flat and don’t return in same way. My bin top was returned bent and scratched. Leslie asked for me to go to register two when I arrived at store atmosphere tense and not welcoming. Amanda was at register two and did not acknowledge me and advised other sales associate to help on register three. I asked for a receipt for cash out offer and other representative asked Amanda for receipt then Amanda explained she could not give me a receipt as she would have had to known prior as not store credit. No thank you either for business.

I've been coming here for years , to resell and purchase and have always found this to be a great establishment. That last few times I've noticed the service declining. However that hasn't stopped me from coming. Emily today was by far the most rude person I've encountered here. Because of her I will never be returning. I don't know what makes people get customer service jobs if they have no customer service skills. No smiling. No kindness. Don't speak to people nicely. Unkind. It's not even the fact that the decline to purchase anything. It was literally she took the stuff out of the container. I had time to answer a text message and I already was called to say my bin was complete. 124 items , complete in less than 3-4 minutes ?! Halloween costumes , brand new shirts with tags, brand new Jessica Simpson leather jacket , and many other good condition clothing . I get that not all items will be taken, that's never been an issue. But she had a personal issue with me from the moment I walked in and took it out on me by declining any purchase. I see the reviews that people are unhappy with the service they're receiving these days. May want to teach you employees happy faces , kind spirits and customer service skills go along way. Hope the service gets better. Not everything was in these picture but Pictures to show everything was prewashed. Sorted into like categories. And laid flat. Probably should have take. Pictures of how she disrespectfully through everything back in. After leaving I went to two other resale shops don’t generally go to because of pat issues ( which was the reason I put all my business with y’all originally). They bought over 40 items ... and took time to look at the items and have friendly conversation and at the bare minimum they said hello and greeted me. Unlike Emily or the other individual at the counter at yours. Lastly I’d like to mention Emily called someone over and had them come smell the pink formal dress I brought in , first off that was bought and never worn but still had washed it before coming in , either way if you think something smells or isn’t of standards to your store , move on. Don’t embarrass customers. .

If you follow where they ask you to stand to wait for cashier, you will stand there forever. With 4 employees behind the counter, three looking in your direction while they all just chit chat (which is fine) but standing there with a screaming toddler, waiting for a cashier, then having two people walk directly up to the cash register and being helped prior to you, and never being asked to come up to the register, with a line forming behind you. The employees don’t care. Then once I decided to walk up to the register and put my things on the counter, I was informed half of my items were misplaced and they unable to sell them to me. What is the point of even shopping here if you’re just going to be told they can’t buy the items in store? This place was cool the first time because I’ve never seen such a large consignment store. But I’ve come back three more times and it’s been awful experiences. Definitely don’t recommend here. You can get the same prices at Walmart. “Support small business” but when you try you end up with experiences like this. (The three other times have been awful too, I chalked it up to rough staffing issues, bad days, off days, etc) now I’m learning it’s the store itself.
