Once Upon A Child - Leon Valley

The store itself is fine. I have been to several Once Upon A Child stores across the country while traveling and this store is the average experience, except the toy section was somewhat lacking - with what toys they do have being generally more damaged than I would feel comfortable paying their prices for. However, Alissa was the worst employee I have ever encountered from one of these stores. To highlight the general experience of dealing with her: 1. She cursed, “where the s**t is…", while looking for something under the counter. 2. She lied about being able to apply a military discount 3. She stated our points had inexplicably expired from a purchase less than two months ago, yet couldn’t answer how long points were valid for, or provide any other details than “they’re expired”. 4. She began to give an attitude during the conversation, and when I began to give one back she became straight up rude, even going so far as to tell me to write a review. So here is that review, Alissa. I can not recommend a store that employs such people - especially one comfortable cursing in front of kids in a store explicitly for kids. This visit was around 5pm, on July 2nd, 2022.

Excellent selection of clothes and shoes for children. Toy selection isn't usually very stocked. The location leaves a lot to be desired but once you're inside the clothes are all clean and well put together, Boys and Girls.

I love the selection they offer. Almost every item of clothing I bought has been in like-new condition. If they spot any imperfections during checkout, they show you and ask if you still want it! One lady found a stain on an item I was purchasing & pointed it out - I still purchased it because she pointed it out & asked if I was okay with it (it was a baby outfit, my daughter would stain it anyways). The pricing is very affordable for all the toys, clothes, and gear! I hardly ever have a problem finding $100 worth of clothes for my children & that lasts them a whole season or more. They are well organized & friendly.

They make it way to difficult to drop off anything. Needs to be in a certain size bin, no bags, boxes, etc. Very rude and difficult to work with these people. Seems like they just make up rules as they go along. So i guess im supposed to go buy a bunch of bins with a very specific size just so they can give you 7 bucks for some toys and clothes? What a joke.

Love coming to this location. Susie is amazing at what she does and has wonderful customer service. All the ladies there have wonderful customer service. Store is always so clean and organized. They have a variety of things and I just love the clothes. They never disappoint . Two thumbs up!! ❤️

Absolutely love Once Upon A Child. Great clothes for great prices. But customer service is the worst at this location. Not just once, but several times I've walked in and all employees behind the counter see me, yet no one will so much as say hello or welcome me or even smile. Today i went in to sell some items, the cashier looked at me and smiled, then turned away. So i stood there for another min before another lady turned around and asked if i needed help. She then tells me that they no longer accept items in bags, which i knew, but now apparently they will not allow you to transfer your items to one of their bins, according to corporate. I'd really like to know if that is even true. If so, then that's really sad. And very poor customer service in my opinion. I've never made a review anywhere, so you can imagine how these ladies made me feel.

Been coming here for YEARS as a purchasing customer, each time spending hundreds of dollars on two kids. Today was the 1st time I ever wanted to bring in items & was so severely verbally mistreated as soon as I opened the door. They have the junkyard watch dog "AMANDA" manager on duty barking at people as soon as they come in with stuff. Completely night and day experience if your in there spending money vs. trying to turn stuff in. My little girl was shocked at how that lady was yelling at me. You can tell she's overwhelmed in her position so she goes yelling at people. Big whoop, you don't take wall art, cool, all that has to be done is we take it back to the car with us, no sweat. My goodness, such a theatrical show for something small, don't sweat the small stuff. Anytime i was about to say something she was ready to charge and come out with something else to say, super negative mindset. Note before I brought my stuff in I talked to an employee (not Amanda) about what I was going to do& she was so nice& helpful. The only reason I'm writing a review is so they can get wind of how this lady is mistreating people, another customer leaving even told me she was sorry that I was yelled at like that, totally uncalled for. Taking our back to school, summer, winter,special occasion shopping elsewhere. The crazy part is, I was taking my daughter in to do back to school shopping& check out the yellow tag sale as well, we would have spent a couple hundred, but she doesn't need our stuff or our money according to her. Respectfully put a muzzle on that one.

They are so difficult to sell to. They change rules constantly. I arrived today after driving far to be greeted by a new rule that hard containers need a top now. Just for this week?? But it’s always something. They also always explain it rudely too like you’re supposed to know. Save your time and go to Kid to Kid. They pay better and no always- changing rules.

I used to love this store but seems like they are beginning to get greedy! I’ve seen a lot of used clothing for the same price at retail stores for brand new, and you guys are a rip off when it comes to buying our stuff,sold them a bassinet in really good condition they only wanted to give me $8 couldn’t even just give me the extra $2 and then find it for sale on a really high price, like how are y’all really helping the community smh! I should’ve just given it to someone for free.
