This has to be one of the worst Customer Service Oriented Companies. Every interaction leads to several emails and endless calls. Im looking to get one of my inverters replaced-- I asked to speak to a manager -Got "Chris' on the line and she assured me someone would get back to me by day end. As usual, No call back or progress report. I have sent "Juan several emails with no response. As you wait on hold, they have a communication that states they are committed to Superior customer service-MIS INFORMATION. Horrible Service -
"Absolutely avoid this company". I have been dealing with a solar related roof leak since February . This is probably the sixth solar related leak I have had on my roof. Each time its another adventure to try to get Astrum or Direct Energy Or Omnidian whatever they are calling themselves now to fix anything. Customer service is horrible they just constantly give you the run around. Then to top it all off they want you to front the money for the internal repairs. Don't Make the same mistake I did avoid this company like the plague
I have a warranty plan with Omnidian for about 5 years now. I had an issue with a microinverter not reporting so I contacted my installer which I have done in the past. They contacted Omnidian and were told that the homeowner needed to call to start the process, so I called. All communications with them was done through emails in beginning of January 2025. Keep in mind that I am already about a month into this by the time I was informed that the homeowner needed to call, and the issue was already happening for a couple month which is also a problem because they are supposed to be monitoring the system and send a technician when there is an issue. My first contact was Holden who informed me he would monitor the system for a few days to see if it would correct itself. Four days later (Jan 6) I received another email letting me know that there was an issue and they were waiting for a manufacturer review to replace the part. I was also informed to place the part in the house when it came and not to open it and notify Omnidian once it arrived. At that point they would send out a technician. On Jan 24 I received a reminder email to follow up with Omnidian which I did immediately. On Jan 27 I received an email from Holden letting me know that according to Enphase the part had been delivered already but to the wrong location and they were trying to resolve the issue. On Jan 29 Holden emailed to let me know that Enphase was preparing to ship the part again with my instructions of what to do once it arrived. On Feb 6 the part came and I did as instructed and emailed Holden to let him know. I received a reply the next day Feb 7 stating that they have assigned the job to a company I was unfamiliar with and they were waiting acceptance. After not hearing anything I responded on Feb 17 to holden stating so and that I would actually prefer to have the installer come to replace my part since I looked up the company they were going to use and the reviews were not good. I also haven't heard from anyone at this point. On Feb 24 I got a response from Rhyan stating they were taking over my case and that the original company had already ordered the parts and were waiting to schedule, even thought I already had the parts at my home and Omidian was informed of this. I immediately replied once again that I had the parts and would prefer my installer to do the work. On Feb 25 the Rhyan emailed me to say the company they chose had already accepted the job and would be reaching out, even though I requested to use another company well in advance of this company accepting. I responded the same day requesting the information of a supervisor that I could contact because I was very unhappy with the way this was handled as well as the length of time it was taken. I Then got a response from Devin stating the delays were possibly from technician availability and supply chain shortages, once again I already had the parts in my possession. Devin also stated again that this company that was going to do the work would be reaching out to me. There was on information for a supervisor. I responded to Devin once again letting Omnidian know how unhappy I was with the whole situation as well as a short outline of what had happened. I called Omnidian and spoke with Pedro. I filled him in on the whole situation who scheduled a call to me with a supposed supervisor Kris. The time for the call came and went and there was no call. This was because of confusion about the time because we were in different time zones. I called Omnidian back and asked for Kris and was told I would receive a call by the end of their day. What I got was an email from Kris letting me know they had to leave the office unexpectedly and would contact me the next day. I was contacted the next day and explained everything but felt there was no real concern about what had happened, just a bunch of "I'm sorry this happened, this is not the way we handle things" I explained to Kris that I would be writing this review and the response was " that's the only way for change to happen"
We have been dealing with Omidian for two years due to solar panels on our roof, which are not working. They refunded us in 2023, but now are not willing to refund us for 2024 and continue to tell us they can not find the proper microinverters to properly fix the problem. We have a lengthly feed of poor customer service response to our situation. Next step is we are filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
I am unsure how Omnidian gets an almost 5 start review. They do not practice transparency when it comes to service and resolution of issues. I have solar panels on my roof. As the result of hurricane Beryl I have significant damage to my roof causing a terrible leak. I have been dealing with Omnidian for about 4 months now trying to get a quote for the cost to remove the solar panels and then replace them so my roof can be replaced. In the interim I continue to have damage to inside of my home if the winds are high and a bad storm comes through lifting the tarps on my roof. As well my HOA is now hounding me to fix my roof but this can’t be done until the panels are removed! I’m told they are the middle man and don’t have access to the schedule of the company they use to remove and replace the panels. Why use a company that is unreliable for service? It makes no sense that providing a quote takes 4 months. I can only imagine how long it would be to schedule removal! I was also lied to by the previous representative I spoke to when she stated they not have the contact information of the solar panel company, when I asked if I should call them myself. This is not good business.
I need a new roof or I will lose my homeowners insurance. Omidian is dragging it's feet with getting me a removal date and at one point in time I was essentially told in corporate jargon to shut up and stop asking questions.
Don't waste your time paying extra for this monitoring service. They don't do anything that your installer can't do for free. Taking a look at your app takes 3 seconds and if there are any issues, the app tells you. There is literally no need for a 3rd party monitoring service. Total waste of money. It's not like they service your system. If there is a problem, they are going to call your installer anyways. Just find a reputable installer and stick with them.
This company cares only for the power companies.....it feels like they could be in bed with as well as the public utilities commission as there two seem to be working together. This company had placed my battery on loan to the power company to drain my battery as they need it, without contacting me before stating it was ok since they are the owners of the panels. If this is true they should pay my monthly payment i don,t care much for this company and the way they operate. Customer is definitely not job one
Complete and utter trash company to deal with. If I could give less than a star, I would. It took them 3+ months to respond to my request to remove the panels because my ROOF IS LEAKING. We now have internal damage due to this leak and their customer service still does not seem to care and is dragging their feet. DO NOT GO SOLAR!!
Wow! Talk about unhappy! 2 1/2 years ago, I made a deal with Swift Energy. I should have done something different! Swift started to install the solar on my roof the very next day. No way they could have had a permit overnight. They also promised to return a contract copy shortly, which never happened! Additionally, within 30 or 40 days, Swift Energy went Bankrupt, Chap. 11, with no notification and I had no working solar system. I called the Bank holding the loan papers, and they were extremely helpful and immediate in their response. I then worked with Omnidian, which hooked me up with Empower Solar. I only asked one question: Please keep me informed about your progress, as I am paying $3,000.00 a year in addition to my other Solar bill with Sunrun and a small amount to SCE. I was regularly told that "They were working on it", which was not what I had requested. They made repeated trips to my home, with something new every time. The final straw (almost) was that I was told that there was a PTO (Permit to Operate) in place with SCE. I waited more and finally called SCE. They told me that there was no PTO in place, and they did not even have an application for a PTO. Sometime in the not-too-distant past, the contractor (Empower) stopped talking to me and would not answer or return my calls. Finally, Omnidian stopped returning my calls. I may have raised my voice over the lack of attention, but never did I resort to foul language. My conversations were all recorded; check those out if you care to. And then, without telling me, they canceled my contract. However, the bank notified me of their actions, and today, I was notified by Omnidian. I am a 100% Disabled Veteran, and regardless of that, I am 85 years of age and do not deserve to be ignored or taken advantage of for any reason. Neither Omnidian nor Empower has done any work I can see toward keeping me informed. My suggestion is that if you ever consider getting solar, try not to use either of the preceding companies. They are slow, uncommunicative, disrespectful, lying, dishonest, misleading, badly organized, and incompetent. Most Sincerely, Thomas Bircumshaw
