We go there whenever we have car trouble. They treat us like family and are honest and trustworthy. I’m sure that they are reasonable with their prices or my husband would be checking out other establishments. It’s good to stick to the same place as they know the history of your car.
I usually go to this place for my oil changes because thay are close and more affordable than other places. Recently I went ther because my car overheated twice in 3 weeks. They had me drop it off and checked it, drove it, and who knows what else. They called me in and didn't find anything wrong with it. Didn't even charge me for the inspection. I was stunned. The dealership and many other auto shops would have at least changed me for the inspection, if not made up something ro charge me for. I appreciate an honest mechanic and an honest shop.

Hi this is my second visit at Oaklawn Auto. George and the other guys are very friendly and professional and they do excellent work. I only got an oil change today. But they have done Tire End Rod work and fixed Oil leaks etc. I stop going to the other place I was getting my Jeep service at. I only go to Oak Lawn Auto now . And you should too Lisa C
Went in because my car was dying out and check engine light was on. George told me he would look at it and call me. George called me and told me I needed a cam shaft Sensor it would be $500.00 including parts and labor. He told me the camshaft sensor is $175. I told him no that’s too much money. The sensor is only $60 at auto zone, this guy is a complete rip off artist!!!! ******BEWARE *****

Update: 1July2026. I have since brought George and John work on: 2012 Ford Fusion 2018 Mercedes Benz 2025 Ford Mach E They run a honest, reliable auto repair shop with competitive prices. They treat each customer with dignity and perform high quality work. It took me a while to realize they could save me hundreds of dollars by not taking my car to "dealer" mechanics. And, I know their work is better. They are excellent mechanics and good people. Recently, they had a quick turnaround on my Benz during a power failure that shut down Oak Lawn businesses; And, today, they installed after market equipment on my Mach E - in 15 minutes - and refused payment. Who does that? Oak Lawn Auto, that's who. Take every car you and your family own to Oak Lawn Auto. You will not be disappointed. Thank you! I own a 2016 Mazda CX-5 that I bought from Napleton Mazda in Oak Lawn. I am meticulous about its maintenance. After my last two routine service appointments at Napleton, I took my car (around the corner) to George at Oak Lawn Auto. Both times he has been able to save me several hundred dollars. He’s honest, friendly and doesn’t waste your time or hard earned dollars. If you need an honest, quality auto repair shop; look no further than Oak Lawn Auto. They are outstanding!
Looking for honest mechanics? This is the place to go . My mom recommended and will definitely use this shop for any and all of my future needs . I called around a few places and went from 3000 thousand to- no you need a new car.. Oak Lawn Auto said “ no problem “ and issue was solved like magic ! You don’t feel like you are being bullied into service you don’t need or service that is ridiculously expensive. For a widow, this place has taken so much stress off my mind ! My mom and I miss having our 2 family mechanics who have passed away .. but they taught us how to spot a snake . None spotted here. Thank you Oak Lawn Auto !
With being a woman… we are often taken advantage of because of not knowing the ins and outs about cars…. My boyfriend referred me and Wow Both George and John are amazing!!!! They run a great staff Kudos and more Kudos!!!! I’m never leaving them and referring others!!!
Had my son's Jeep in then my truck a few days later. George and John are great to work with. Have been going to them for years. I recommend them every chance I get!
