We appreciate doing business with Genesee! To top it off, we recently noticed a faint raw propane smell. Jeff Strove was here within an hour of our call for assistance to check it out. After a pressure test of the system and checking each appliance, he determined that the problem was likely incomplete combustion in the furnace. We had been told in advance that he couldn't deal with issues on any appliance. But, given his detailed inspection we now know which technician to call for maintenance. Thank you Genesee, and to Jeff specifically. You are an amazing ambassador for Genesee!
I am editing this review to say that Genesee reached out to me and apologized for what happened. They were very kind and took the time to better educate me on the different plans and how they work. They plan to pump the excess oil out and refund the charge, so I am changing to 5 stars for their responsiveness, commitment to customer service and willingness to make the situation right. Customer service does not properly educate customers on the costs involved with their various service options, which you would think would be standard since most people in this region are not familiar with how oil heating works. I was enrolled on a plan paying $300/month. I switched to another option and was hit with a bill for more than $3000 without warning. This could have been avoided if the woman who answers their phones had invested 2 minutes in explaining that the plan I switched to meant that I would be receiving hundreds of gallons of oil more than I currently need or was prepared to pay for. When I called back to understand what happened, she would not accept any responsibility for failing to disclose the enormous costs of the new plan and instead aggressively blamed me as the customer for choosing this option.
Wow! Great service and care! Mary Ann is terrific! She listened to my concerns and professionally addressed and found helpful solutions for each one. She took all the stress out of my concerns and when I hung up I was smiling and reassured that all heating needs were taken care of. I cannot recommend Cooper Fuel enough! Talk to Mary Ann and she will take excellent care of you and make sure you and your family stay warm all winter!
We have been with Genesse Fuel for over 20+ years and would never use a different company. They are there when you need day or night. We had an issue last year (during winter) and they were out within 2 hours and fixed the problem. I highly recommend Genesee.
