THREATS OF WITHOLDING PAYMENT WHEN A CARRIER REP IS UPSET. We have previously loved working with Direct connect until we met Kathleen. We agreed to do loads with them for an entire month at 6 loads per week. One day when Kathleen couldn't reach us in the office because our dispatcher is out of the country on vacation, a fact they were made aware of and provided multiple alternative forms of contact. She, gave the load to another carrier instead of trying to call. When we found out we responded "it is what it is, no problem neither of us signed a contract here so no biggie." she responded saying "since it is what it is we will pull the rest of the loads and give them to other carriers." Completely irrational we had said nothing out of line at all. We were just saying, "hey no problem we'll move on no biggie" this lady is UNSTABLE. When this escalated, she got upset and threatened to withhold payments. She said "we have at least 3 loopholes in our rate con" When we first started booking these she told us "we can't keep a good carrier on these" and now I just can't imagine why. This is how we were treated after doing 10 of these back to back with no issues. It is our hope that someone with a little more professionalism contacts us to work this out. We definitely don't want to deal with her ever again but hope to work with Direct Connect in the future this is one bad apple probably not representative of an overall culture.
Our broker Kathleen Hafer is amazing to work with. She communicates very well, offers us great rates on loads and always ensures that we get detention, and layover via immediate revised rate cons when applicable. Perhaps a rarity amongst brokers these days, she’s fair but firm with no bs, just a normal person. These are characteristics we at Gambit Logistics greatly appreciate. She gives broker-carrier relations a good name, truly, truly a joy in this cut throat industry. Thanks Kathleen you’re the best!

This broker’s agents are crooks, they lie about everything ,like the mileage of the load,, they lie about the weight of the load and the rate of the load in order to cheat the hard working carriers. I had a load with three pickups. We agreed that the load has three pickups ,and one drop with 560 miles, and 19,777 weight. The mileage became 635, and the weight became 36000. The pickups became Four which I was told after delivery . We agreed three pickups, and they are claiming the third pickup had two pickups which I was not been told, they hide from me in order this hungry double broker to rob me. We agreed three pickups ,and I picked all the three pickups with extra mileage and extra weight. When I delivered they said the third pickup had an extra pickup which I was not be told or agreed for. After I delivered the load, the double broker agents called me ,and said the third pickup had two pickups while I was told by Zak and another double broker of this broker you have one pickup from each of your three pickups. Second they don’ know their job and their responsibility. When you complete the load with rate you negotiated they deduct the amount they want. Never pickup a load for this broker,! Especially one of their agent called Zak. This broker’s agents are double brokers whom are in some in Europe. And they hungry to Robbing hard working carriers . Take care! I told you!
This company is attempting to build a data center larger than 3 countries in Clinton county, Indiana, do not work with companies willing to fund ai data centers
Terrible company. They do not communicate and will waste your time. Do not work with these people. Wasted a whole day at a shippers waiting to get a load out to stay running through 4th of July weekend. Come to find out this loads a work in, appointment was last Saturday, which was not communicated til I was already 25 hours into it. Took 16 hours waiting to get in a door hoping to get out of this area. After 9 hours in a door not getting loaded broker calls and admits it’s a work in and to be patient. I left. Broker never answers calls or emails and keeps robo texting if I got loaded yet. If they do this kind of stuff before getting loaded imagine trying to get paid after delivering the load?
It was a great experience working with this company. It was the first time, but it was so easy. I would highly recommend and love to work with them again.
