Our experience here was definitely nicer and quicker than our previous visits to the few other brands operating in Boston. Yet, this is a small and busy office, which makes it not as quick and efficient as you would get in the newest Alamo locations nationwide (where I always use not the auto-kiosks and never wait a sec).
Was told fuel level was half. Reality was fuel light was on with range of 13 miles. When I left Boston on a Friday afternoon there was stop and start traffic on the freeway while I desperately looked for gas and a way to exit the freeway. I gassed up with a 4 mile range. Also tire pressure light was on. Avis rents cars that are not maintained properly and exposes customers to an unsafe situation needlessly.
These guys are the absolute best. I have used many other rental car options in Boston however since discovering Alamo/National I will not use anyone else: -Great inner city location -Professional staff -Cars are great and very reasonably priced -Easy to use app Highly recommended!
I experienced excellent customer service at this location. Fast service, immaculately clean car, very pleasant person at the desk. Highly recommend.
Whilst the staff in this location were very helpful and we had no issue actually picking and dropping our car off, Alamo themselves allowed us to book a convertible that they did not have. which does not quite fall into the "or similar" category. But this is a Alamo location was good.
Alamo service always great but two things make it hard for me every time: 1) I don't have a credit card and they insist that they have to take one for the rental. 2) Every time I get charged the admin fee ($14) for going through tolls (without booths) which I can't seem to avoid because I cannot pay them off directly to the toll people. If anyone can help with these problems then i'd love to know!
I received an email from Alamo asking me to right a review. The service at this location is typically sufficient. However, I get remarkably frustrated with Alamo because they are the one rental car company that can't figure out how to get my Delta rewards to work. I'm out almost 10,000 in points because they can't figure out how to connect my account to Alamo even though I have spent over an hour on the phone with the company and have done everything they have asked me to do. There is an issue with their system and they blame Delta for the issue.
Exterior windows and rearview mirrors weren't clean and I had to do my cleaning under minus temperature to ensure visibility. Wiper blades was ok doing its job but due for a change. For some reasons the Avis location wasn't using the reference booking # and rates I reserved upon car pickup. Though it was resolved at the end it gave me nervousness (2.5x more in price).
Car rental in Boston, drop-off in Manchester, NH. We usually rent from Hertz, but their drop-off charge was insane, and Alamo offered a reasonable rate. Good car (not brand-new, but in good condition), fairly convenient location in downtown Boston (they only drawback is shlepping your luggage since the elevator is far from the location), great return location in Manchester. Will consider them in the future - good value and good service.
Pick up the car and return the car location is very convenient, in the green line cover. There are many models to choose from. I rent a nissan this time. The car performance is good, the space is spacious, the price is also moderate, and next time I will choose this car rental. I hope there will be some discount next time.
