The entire solar contract and install experience was great! Working with Matt on the sales team, he went above and beyond to support any issues I had and working with us to find the best financing option for my wife and I. He also explained the hardware and equipment that was going to be used and provided brochures for everything! He wasn't push, was very fun to talk to, not a pressuring sales person, and had some great "dad jokes". Their formal proposal had milestones with dates and activities that were clear and helped us understand all of the milestones of the project. Megan on the project management team always kept us up to date on changes to the permitting, the status of project milestones, and city approvals of the project. Jamie did a great job of letting us know the who, what, when, where of the install. He was present the first day of the install and attended the post install inspection with the local city official. The install team did a great job! The panels are square to the roof, they were all polite, easy to work with, and very helpful when answering questions. They did a pretty good job of picking up any pieces of wire or scrap, they all wore their appropriate PPE, and they were extremely fast! The install was initially quoted at 2 days and they were a little quicker than that. Again, I highly recommend Astrawatt for any solar installs! The people, the service, and the equipment are all top of the line!
Astrawatt installed a battery backup system at my home. Install was prompt and professional. The site evaluation was also handled very well. Chris was patient to answer my questions and kept me informed thru the process. I will definitely call on them again when I expand the battery capacity. A Big Thank You!
Astrawatt has been nothing but helpful and responsive through the entire process of our solar project. We were having a hard time finding a company who would accept the job of removing 37 panels from our roof, trench over 250ft and install them on a ground array in the back of the property. Desmond, Chris and his crew were punctual, knowledgeable and hard working. They completed this job in less than a week and had us back up and running immediately. This project happened in February of 2024 and a few months later we needed an upgraded Solar Edge inverter. Adam Houp handled this upgrade and made it happen in a timely manor. Fast forward five months, we had an issue in our junction box off of the inverter that killed our production for half a day. I reached out to Adam and he was there that same morning to fix it and get us up and running again. He has exceeded expectations twice now. I highly recommend Astrawatt for all your solar needs.
Astrawatt Solar: My Impressions and Why I Went with Them I started with the solar company I planned on going with because they had done two of the houses in my neighborhood. I toured one of their installations, and it looked like they did really good work. The salesman showed up on time, and he was smooth—a natural salesman. The kind of guy you could hang out at a baseball game with. He laid out what he thought would be a good system for us and showed us the pricing. I called Astrawatt Solar to get a second opinion. The salesman for Astrawatt was a completely different kind of guy. He’s not a natural salesman. He’s a solar geek, if you will. He answered every question (and that’s saying something because I’m not about to spend this kind of money without understanding the full process). I wanted to get at least four bids, so the next company was OK, but they were busy telling me what they thought was right for me. The system they recommended was made up of various manufacturers, and I was more looking for a system from one manufacturer where everything would work together. The last company was run by a truly nice, genuine, older gentleman who was a one-man company. He didn’t have any regular install crew but just used whoever he could find. He had a guy who worked odd hours and might use his car headlights to finish the outside. His son-in-law would configure the system. His price was extremely low, but we were concerned about warranty and service after the sale. His panels weren't as efficient and would have required more on the roof. I went back to the first company and asked them to bid me a system comparable to Astrawatt. Their price was roughly $20,000 higher. When I called them to tell them I was going with Astrawatt, they asked me to wait a minute. He called back and said they would match Astrawatts price. It really is the wild wild West when it comes to solar. Astrawatt uses premium materials, they use their own crews, they have a person dedicated to service, they listened to what I wanted and we worked through multiple revisions as I continued to research and learn. and they gave the lowest price the first time. I signed with Astrawatt, and waited. Installation day was a little tough because their supplier was half a day late. The person in charge pulled extra people in and got the system done on time. You can tell they’ve done hundreds of installs. Everything installed on the side of the house or downstairs was done with a level. The system worked the first time without any issues. The installers were super friendly, asked me how I wanted things, and worked with me as I ran an Ethernet cable instead of using Wi-Fi. They even took the time to refold the hand towel in the bathroom. They were constantly cleaning and sweeping as they went. I was especially impressed when the guy from the utility company came to shut off the power and recognized some of the people from Astrawatt, so he gave the installers permission to pull the meter and reinstall it when they needed so we didn’t have to be without electricity all day. Reid was my salesman, and Megan was the person in charge. I would ask for them. There's some type of referral program where you'll get a bit of a discount and I'll get something if you mention me. Your welcome to tell them to add my amount to your discount. Solar costs a lot of money, and I would encourage everyone to do their research, but this has worked out really well for me.
Chris and Chris installed my backup battery system. Throughout the process they have been friendly, punctual and knowledgeable. They answered questions as I asked them and never gave me the impression that I was inconveniencing them. They worked fast, were considerate of my time - asking before turning off the electricity so that I’d have time to save files and prepare to be without. They made sure they had everything ready to go so that the time without electricity was extremely short. They were very conscientious of my home and the placement of the battery - leaving it as clean it cleaner than they found it. I could not be more pleased with their work.
Our solar installation has been up for about four months now. Our latest Evergy bill was $7.40.Thank you to Astrawatt for having patience with my many, many questions. The professionalism of your Sales Rep, Rhody, your Manager, Project Manager, your Electricians, and your Installers was top notch. We tried to work with four companies before settling on Astrawatt, at a time were everyone and their cousin is trying to get into the solar gold rush. It truly came down to Astrawatt and only one other reputable company. The only feedback I might have is making it clearer how the inverters would produce versus the peak power of the panels and nominal conditions. Also, for weeks after the install, some screws, washers, and cables blew off the roof, but that's because it was ungodly windy on my install days. I'm sure the crew did everything they could to keep the site organized. Everything is working fine and I was impressed with how considerate and tidy the install crew was during that phase. I'll recommend people to Astrawatt for sure, and I'd encourage them to be patient with the process and to trust the team. We're very satisfied customers.
I am now as of today able to finally write this review because my solar system has finally been turned on! I wanted to wait until it was active to give my full honest opinion of this company and the whole process. Astrawatt from the start was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Throughout the whole process (which is lengthy) I was kept in the loop about everything that was going on from their end. From drawing up the plans, to reaching out to the city of Eudora (my utility company), to scheduling the install. On the day of the install, the team showed up right on time and got right to work. I want to give them a special shout out because it was unfortunately one of the hottest days of the month, and they got right to work and got everything installed by about 1:30. The only hiccup in this process was after the install, the city of Eudora was not quite satisfied with a certain part of the system. They kept insisting that there be a transfer switch, even though the system comes with an automatic rapid shutdown in case of emergencies. Alex, the master electrician from Astrawatt went to bat for me and reminded them that the system was completed 100% according to the plans that THEY approved, which included this rapid shutdown deal. So I give Astrawatt an A+ for dealing with that and finally getting the city to approve it and pass the inspection. Unfortunately (through no fault of Astrawatt) it took almost another month and some back and forth with the city to get their solar meter installed. Overall this was a great experience and I highly recommend Astrawatt for their professionalism and communication. I plan to expand my system in the future by adding a whole home battery backup, and I will definitely use Astrawatt for that. Great job Astrawatt! You have another satisfied client!
Sun solar installed our system and I had no problems. Upon selling my house Astrawatt Solar has been useless can't even find us in the system. Look by name, address and phone number. The new to be owners are trying to get a new roof and so need to find out about the panels being removed then replaced after and the warranty information and this company has been nothing but worthless. They do not return calls.
New ownership of Astrawatt Solar in K.C. by Fidelis Renewables did a remarkable job of helping me correct loose ends left over by the previous owner, who had a good organization until a few months ago. Not sure what happened then, but Dan Fuqua is now managing and doing a superb, reliable, dedicated job to taking care of business and has been very responsive, which is an outstanding attribute. Thank you!!
Astrowatt installed the incorrect micro inverters on our home. They installed the cheaper, less efficient inverters, when we paid for the more efficient inverters. My spouse noticed the difference and brought this to the attention of Astrowatt months ago. Astrowatt has made no attempt to correct their mistake and does not communicate with us, in fact they avoid our calls. I suggest any home owner use any other solar company and I caution all current Astrowatt customers to verify the correct micro inverters have been installed on their homes. Highly disappointed with this company.
