I came in early in the morning with terrible stomach pain into the emergency room.Nurses and customer service people at the front desk was amazing. They got me in the back right away. Started running tests on me. And as soon as the the Doctor realized what the problem was, they started the pain medicine and X. Rays and ultrasounds and figured out that I had a gallbladder attack with a gallstone. I appreciate everyone involved from the minute we walked in to the front desk until the second day I was released.I am just amazed at the professional and hands on care that I got. The doctor snd nurses were amazing. I stayed that full day and night and my nurses that were on call for both days were totally amazing. They were friendly. They made sure I had my pain medicine and my nausea medicine and my normal medicine that I take daily right on schedule. I give five stars from the moment I walked in that door until the moment I left five stars for everyone.

I had to have emergency surgery and was moved from St Thomas West to Midtown because my fallopian tube had ruptured and I was bleeding internally. The staff at midtown OBGYN ER were so kind, caring, and compassionate during the worst experience of my life. They clearly explained why they couldn’t give certain pain medications because my BP was dropping but once they got it back up they gave me medication to help ease the worst pain of my life. And when the pain caused me to exhale and not inhale, the nurses and doctors would lovingly rub my shoulder and remind me to breathe even though my body didn’t want to. Super compassionate and knowledgeable staff there at the Midtown OBGYN Er. I had heard great things in my research for a future place to go if I ever was pregnant. I can confirm they are THE place to help if you are a woman having an issue with your reproductive system. I’ve had ovarian cysts and ruptures before but when my fallopian tube ruptured I knew I was in the right place to get help. Surgery went great and I was back home after a night’s stay. Thank you to the nurse in pink scrubs and Dr, “Tina Fey” I’m sorry that I was in so much pain that I couldn’t remember your names. Your kindness helped me get through the worst health experience of my life. And thank you Dr. Mali Schneiter and all the nurses, phlebotomists, and even Aisha the housekeeper who were so kind. And the food was also delicious! Food is medicine and they are a hospital that believe it. I wish I could get the recipe for that Chicken pot pie. Haha! Thank you all for your help in saving my life.

Everyone was so friendly and nice and my surgeon was the best! Dr. Barnett was very communicative and caring, and performed my excision surgery wonderfully! He was somehow able to save my ovary with a giant cyst on it. Forever grateful!!!

I had a deeply disappointing and unprofessional experience in the ER today that I feel obligated to share. At approximately 4:00 PM today in ER Room 8, before even introducing himself or examining me, Nurse Travis stood outside my room speaking to an EMT about me. The door to the room was open, and I could clearly hear the entire conversation. This interaction was also likely witnessed by the ER tech who was present at the time. During that conversation, he referenced my past medical history and stated in a dismissive tone that I was a patient they “see all the time” and implied there was “nothing wrong with me,” questioning what my complaint would be this time — all before ever speaking to me or performing any assessment. As a patient who came to the ER genuinely frightened by my symptoms, overhearing a nurse speak about me this way was humiliating and demoralizing. Patients come to the emergency room because they are scared and looking for help. To be pre-judged and discussed in a dismissive manner within earshot of the patient shows a serious lack of professionalism and compassion. I am also a combat veteran, and experiences like this make it even harder to seek medical care when something feels wrong. No patient — veteran or civilian — should feel mocked, judged, or dismissed before they are even evaluated. Regardless of a patient’s medical history, every person deserves to be treated with respect and assessed without bias. Hearing a healthcare provider openly dismiss a patient before even entering the room undermines trust in the entire healthcare system. I hope hospital leadership reviews this incident involving Nurse Travis and addresses it appropriately so future patients are treated with the dignity and professionalism they deserve.

Every single person on the 6th floor had the best hospitality i have ever experienced. I have been in and out of hospitals most of my life and I got transfered to this hospital and stayed for a week and every single person was respectful and made sure I was comfortable. It never took longer than 5 minutes before someone was at my side when id call for a nurse. Id name every single person on here if I could. They where so sweet and never once made me question their care. The only person I did not recommend was a phlebotomist I had that took my blood once. Im not gonna put her name on here but she was very rude and the worst bedside manor iv ever had. She seemed very smart with her mouth everytime she spoke or I said something to her. My doctor was amazong as well, listened to everything I had to say and answered all my questions in detail. Everytime the doctor told me results he made sure I understood before he would leave. I live 2 hours away from this hospital but if I ever need to go to a hospital and can make it. This would be the one id make the trip for. The Chaplin even came by and prayed over me and my family. She helped me look on the brighter side and made my day better.

Starting with visits to my primary MD, through various tests & referrals, culminating in a rather extensive surgery on 6 May 2026 & discharge home 14 May 2026, the care I received at St. Thomas Midtown was wonderful. Everyone, doctors/surgeons, nurse practitioners, lab & radiology personnel were very kind & compassionate. The post-op care from the 5th floor staff was great. I wish I could remember all the names of those (nurses/tech) who took such good care of me but to mention those I can remember: Debby, Stella, Liz, Sienna(?), Frances, Lucky, Coleen(?), Sheila(?) & others I apologize for letting slip my mind. The only thing I would mention as really my own nitpick: whenever the call light was used, someone would answer but as a hearing impaired person, it was difficult to understand what they were saying & then it would take a seemingly long time for someone to come in. Again, this was more of a “me” issue & I always try to remove the aspect of being a retired nurse out of any critique I may have. I would definitely recommend St. Thomas Midtown to any & everyone. They took great care of my Dad before he passed in 2016, both my grandbabies were born there, my own kids have received care there…outstanding place.

I had minor surgery, but it was major surgery to this old 81 year old. The easiest surgery I’ve ever had in my life. Dr. Pickett is awesome and so were everyone in that operating room. I never felt a thing and they were very attentive and tried to make sure I was comfortable. I cannot say enough about the whole team, including the precious lady that took me back to surgery. I Highly recommend this hospital, dr. Pickett and his surgery team!

Everyone was great and so nice. I do suggest one thing is when your breakfast and lunch and supper trays come out, don't have the nurses deliver them to the rooms. The nurses have other things to do to tend to their patients and bring the patients to lunch tray. That's up to dietary. I really did not like that at all. Evidently someone was not doing their job and dietary

I genuinely don’t have words to describe what a great hospital this was to me, I was transferred from my initial hospital because they didn’t have the resources to care for me in tullahoma son lo they sent me to this hospital, mind you I had a traumatic stay at Tullahoma hospital after being there for a week getting told I was good to go home and then being back in the ER and getting told I was worse then when I left. My nurses at St Thomas were all so sweet and understanding with me I spent my birthday in this hospital and they went out of their way to make me feel at home. I was at this hospital for 2 weeks and not once did I feel neglected or forgotten especially at night. All my night shift nurses were amazing but one stood out the most for me because of her compassion and kindness knowing my heart was hurting because I missed my family and that nurse is Marley on the 6 floor. Again I repeat all of my nurses were great but she just stood out. They saw me cry with anxiety and always gave me a shoulder to cry or just listened and I will never forget that, from the nurses to all the specialist I had see I will be beyond grateful always. I have stated if I or any in my household need a hospital we will be going here because I felt secured and listen to.
