I love yards, always have. I’ve been here a few times and the food has improved with every visit. Yards would definitely be a spot I would bring someone if they were visiting the city.

Food was amazing..... Peyton our server was amazing, she was so nice and attentive. She helped me surprise my wife with her bday gift. She gave good advice on food choices, beers and deserts. The atmosphere was on point. Overall a good night and looking forward to going back

Food is always the bomb with changes happening to the menu each season which is great! Great drinks - make sure to ask for Ed!! Such a positive attitude you can tell he loves his job. Very insightful about both the food and drink menu. 10/10 would recommend

Mike was amazing, He is funnier than alot of standup comedians out there! He’s very knowledgeable in his field and his humor is outstanding. My cheeks hurt after 1 hour of the tour, which by the way went super fast. We lost the track of time with his fun banter. Highly recommend! Mike if you’re reading this, you will see us so often.

Liam, our server went above and beyond. I have never had a similar experience in Philadelphia or anywhere for that matter. Thanks yards for hiring such a great individual

Stopped by Yards because they had a parking lot. That was honestly our selling point. I'm glad we did. Kelly was our server and she was absolutely amazing. She walked us through the menus, letting us know what was her favorites and what was the favorites of the regulars. We had the wing phlight and the eggrolls. They were honestly better than I expected. The Sriracha ketchup was divine. The portions were huge. I enjoyed the bowl of chili and the cornbread. I have no complaints and would definitely come back.

Go for their on-site produced beer, it's pretty good. Typical micro-helpings of happy hour fare that was unremarkable. Upkeep of outside area along 5th Street needs attention. Felt like a beer hall for an Oktoberfest. Bar sight lines were too wide-open. RE: atmosphere > seemed like the private party area was having all the fun. Thought about tabling at their caged, primitive outside area on this cool spring day, but I didn't want to go there. I might return sometime, but with different expectations.

What an uncomfortable experience for young families… and beware of auto-gratuity on your bill! My family decided to visit Yards on Saturday. The place was crowded because of the game so as we had done previously, my family decided to go upstairs to enjoy a calmer atmosphere with our young children. We had a stroller with us, so we found an employee to ask where the elevator was. She told us where we could find the elevator with no mention that the upstairs was closed. When we headed up, the lights were on but the space was empty. There was nothing indicating that area was closed so we remained upstairs where our kids had some more space without interfering with other patrons’ experiences. My husband made several trips down the main stairs, passing several employees with no mention of the space being closed, no sign, and nothing blocking the staircase. While upstairs, two staff members came up, looked at us, and said nothing. While upstairs, we made sure our children were respectful of the space and nothing was affected by our presence. After over an hour of being in the space, a staff member came up and said the area is closed. She wasn’t the kindest in her tone, and lacked understanding. We apologized and began to put away our things while telling our kids to push the chairs in. I told my daughter that we need to go on the elevator and pointed her in that direction while the staff member say “yeah, that’s fine. I won’t make you carry your stroller down the stairs.” After staring and making us uncomfortable while we were packing up. We exited the elevator and my husband walked over to one of the MANY open tables (it had since cleared out) to sit down with our family only to be asked to move again. We obliged. We moved to an area with a pool table, darts, and a tv. My two oldest children wanted to play pool. We were nothing but respectful of the space and monitored our children the entire time. But apparently we missed the 3 inch sign that was placed on the wall stating that only people 21+ could play pool. The same staff member that approached us upstairs came over to tell me we weren’t allowed to play pool. We obliged but at this point it was impossible to enjoy our experience so we left. When my husband went to pay the tab, he realized that there was an auto-gratuity of 20% added to the bill. While we were already going to tip 20% because the bartenders were good, the tip should be the decision of the customer. If the bartenders know they are getting a 20% tip no matter what service they give, what is their incentive to do well? And while highlighted on the bill, many people would miss this item on the receipt, especially when drinking or socializing. If missed, one may unknowingly add an additional tip. It’s an ABSURD practice and feels like a failing business tactic. While we have no issue with the upstairs being closed as it is a private event space, we didn’t appreciate being made to feel like absolute delinquents when the company should have made it very clear that the space was closed and they did not. It shouldn’t be up for interpretation. The approach could have been handled better in each situation and that was our biggest complaint. And while they had an extremely small sign posted that those under 21 can’t play pool, it could have been handled more kindly. There was absolutely no kindness coming from the staff member. She could have said “I’m sorry, I know it’s probably frustrating but we have had issues with children at the pool table previously so we have decided to make it an adults only space.” Just handling situations with kindness and empathy would go a long way. And frankly, I wouldn’t be wasting my own time making this poor review if these situations were handled with ANY kindness. We would have bought beer to-go but we refuse to pour another cent into a business with mediocre beer and a ton of local competition. As a family, we go to breweries often. Making young families feel unwelcome is not a good business practice in an industry quickly declining with breweries closing left and right.

Mike Hans gave me and my friend one of the best brewery tours I have ever had! Not only was he conversational and informative but he was also absolutely hilarious and made the experience feel like your best friend was showing you around his favorite place on the planet. His passion for the work he does can be seen in every step of this tour and I highly encourage anyone interested to participate. If you like craft beer and want to know more about how its made and the history behind Yards, a tour with Mike Hans will give you a new perspective on the ins and outs of the business! To top it all off the beer and atmosphere of Yards was absolutely incredible and I plan on being back in the very near future. Thank you Mike and thank you Yards staff for an incredible Friday afternoon!

What was good: The staff were extremely polite, friendly and fun to interact with. On-point and helpful. The overall environment is inviting with good space for large groups. The French fries were amazing. Selection of beers of course was great. What was NOT good: The food we ordered (except the fries.). The grilled cheese was nothing more than a bread sandwich that looked lightly toasted rather than grilled; the hamburger was terrible: just some small dry patty that looked like it was cooked for an 8 year old. Completely disappointing.
