Hidden gem! This delightful little tavern's down a cobblestone (well-lighted) alley and while the menu's limited (not a full bar), what they do offer is top-notch. I had a Pimm's cup, made fresh, and it was utterly delicious. Ambiance is cozy and the place is usually full of longtime locals. Seating's a bit limited due to space, but this means you'll likely have some great conversations with your table mates, or you can just sit and listen. All in all, this place is great and well worth a visit.
This is my secret favorite bar in Seattle. The owner also makes the beer, wine and other. He is alway bartending or managing and they actually stay open until 2am. It's a great date bar or unique place to bring friends. I can't recommend it enough!
Cute exterior. Inside is like stepping into an old English pub. Everything is $5. Friendly bartender. Cool spot!
The service was good but I was disappointed on the beer. $12 for a can which is organic and stuff but it’s still just a beer… if you are going for beer, might as well go next door. I can’t comment on their rest of the drinks but we were disappointed. Also, you can’t drink it outside by the door. It’s not about the price of the beer it’s more like the place does not compensate for such prices. The place was pretty empty and we still could not find somewhere to sit.
Super cool place. Owner is very friendly. Stiff drink!
Tense atmosphere, below average food, location sucks along with parking.
Seattle’s White Horse Tavern in Post Alley is just one block up and parallel to Pike’s Market. Our recent visit here was an experience I will tell stories about. It was opening hours and the owner was behind the bar. In addition to being very friendly and engaging he provided excellent service! The dark interior of the tavern is filled with comfy seating and random objects hang from the ceiling and walls. There is so much to see on display that you could spend hours looking at it all. As I was doing this I was handed a piece of paper with a list on it. It was a scavenger hunt inside the tavern! As we sipped whiskey, my family and I were kept entertained by the game. We had such an awesome time and highly recommend stopping by!
what a special place! I’d hang out here all the time if it weren’t all the way downtown. will definitely be back.
I almost don't want to review this because it's the best kept secret in Seattle. It is the most reliable place to wind or unwind. The playlist is amazing. The atmosphere is indescribable. There's just a sense of comfort and welcoming when you walk in. For non-alcoholics, the fresh-squeezed lemonade is the star. Some of my former friends think this place is boring. Hence "former" friends.
White Horse Tavern was oozing atmosphere when I swung by during the week. Dark, intimate, and oddly inviting - the bartender was helpful giving me the lowdown on how things work. The menu isn't huge and the beer I tried wasn't my favorite, but I want to come back to explore more. Neat spot for sure.
