It was the first time shopping at uptown cheapskate it will definitely not be my last. The staff is unbelievably kind and generous with their time. I’m so glad they’re right in my neighborhood if you haven’t been go.
I already loved this thrift store, but Angel takes it to another level. If you struggle with styling outfits or don’t fully know your style yet, he’s the best person to help… Ask for Angel he has an amazing eye and makes shopping so much more fun.!!
The store is very well kept and organized and I really really enjoy that experience when shopping, Especially when I’m searching for specific pieces. They had great selections and even better prices. The staff was very helpful, and had great energy. I’ve been to many cheapskates and I don’t live close to this one by any means, but this is definitely my first pick!
If I was just rating the clothes, it’d be five stars. They are pretty good at picking clothes that are nice and I always find something I like here but right now the rating is for customer service. There’s this girl in a brown hoodie with glasses and a ponytail that just doesn’t seem like she wants to work there. this is a customer service position and if you don’t want to be in customer service, then there are definitely other jobs where you don’t have to talk to people. She was rushing around the store and rushing us out and being rude over all. someone was on their high horse today acting like it was that important of a job to be checking people out and hanging up clothes. Everyone else is pretty nice. Some of them also don’t seem like they want to be here. I just don’t understand why some people come into customer service positions and don’t do their jobs correctly with customer service. The gentleman staff are always polite and very nice. I haven’t had bad experiences with them but overall just disappointed because it’s one of my favorite stores and I’ve been coming here for the last five years.
This is a really nice place. Speaking on their women’s section: They have a ton of really nice dresses, tops from a HUGE variety of styles, and pretty darn cool pants. I ended up snagging way more than I planned to. I don’t go to thrift stores often, as I rarely have the need for new clothes, but I just could not pass up on those prices! Uptown Cheapskate is definitely the place to go to for fashionable frugality!
If you are a parent of a teen, take there discarded items here. After raising 3 boys I finally learned to have them clean out their closet before buying new clothes. In the past I donated these items to Goodwill. This time I took the items that were not too worn to Uptown Cheapskate and browsed while I waited for my offer. The process was quick, I found a super cute summer dress, and got a fair amount of store credit. I walked out with the dress, a necklace, blouse, jacket for work and a super cute purse, all paid for with store credit!!!
I’m a frequent buyer at uptown cheapskate I always get great service on all Dallas locations, it was the first time going to the Addison location and the customer service was so horrible, he seemed forcefully nice won’t be coming to this location again. Get better employees! It was a tall guy with a face mask !
The customer service at this location is lacking. I’ve never sold or shopped with this company. Interacting with the buyer and worker on duty was unpleasant. They appeared to be forcibly nice and assumed I knew the process. I live near this location, and I was hopeful, but I will not be returning. I will visit another location. The one positive is that I found a CAYUTE jacket.
I love this place! I go here for date night dresses and tonight I found 3 interview dresses I’m very pleased with. I’ve also bought workout tops here in the past. I’ll be going back soon to look for jeans. When I try on pants I have to dedicate the whole time I’m there to trying them on. I’ve also sold here several times. They’re picky about what they purchase but they’re friendly about why they don’t purchase an item if you have questions. I usually take a few items in a bag or box (won’t look at your items unless they’re in something even if it’s one thing- per policy) and I like to do store credit and save up for my next purse or dress. I’ve bought two beautiful handbags here too! I can always find something here. Staff is friendly and dressing rooms are cute and clean but a little small. They do have full length mirrors and good lighting though!
This place is what you'd expect from a seller of used clothing. If you sell clothing here, keep in mind that you are required to join their database and agree to certain terms--you also must present valid identification which they enter into their system. I sold five men's Banana Republic polos and two women's Banana Republic shirts here and they gave me $24. Keep in mind that all shirts were like new--this is what to expect.
