Got my dress custom-made here for a summer trip and really enjoyed the experience. The staff were really nice, helpful, and accommodating throughout the process. They took the time to make sure everything fit well and were very attentive to my preferences. I’m really happy with how the dress turned out and would definitely recommend them.

I chose The Tailory to create a custom bridal jumpsuit after being assured they could replicate a specific design, provide 5–6 fittings (or as many as needed), and deliver the finished garment well before my Memorial Day 2026 wedding. The plan was to recreate the top of a dress I'd tried on and pair it with wide-leg pants. I first met with them in October 2025. Unfortunately, the experience was defined by delays, broken promises, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. At my first fitting in January, the test garment looked nothing like my reference photo. I was told that once the corset structure was added, it would match. At my March fitting with the actual fabric, the top still looked nothing like the reference, and I was again assured the next appointment would make it look exactly as promised. Throughout the process, appointments were delayed, and whenever I expressed concern about timing, I was told we were on track. When I returned in May, with my wedding only three weeks away, virtually no progress had been made. Work I had specifically been told would be completed—such as lining the pants—had not even been started, and no work had been done on the top. Looking back, the multiple fittings served little purpose because the top was never developed correctly. At every appointment I was told it would match my reference photo at the next fitting, but meaningful progress never happened. At what became my final fitting, seven months after my initial consultation and just weeks before my wedding, I was told that the employee working on my garment was no longer with the company and they were starting over on the top from scratch. Despite having the exact reference photo I'd provided in October and repeatedly being assured they could recreate it, I was suddenly being asked what I wanted the garment to look like. During the appointment, Shao cut off one of the straps to completely reshape the top and used Sharpie markings across the front to indicate future changes. I was also told that the low-back design I'd been promised would require fashion tape or a tie across the back, despite their original assurances that it could be recreated as shown. When I expressed concern that my wedding was only weeks away, I was told this timeline was normal. Dylan and Shao also told me that they had been away, contributing to the lack of oversight. Yet afterward Dylan claimed in writing that "we've had multiple conversations throughout this process regarding timing and progress." In reality, I had not spoken with Dylan since my initial consultation seven months earlier. The next fitting they offered was almost two weeks later, leaving no margin for error before my wedding. I had paid in full based on the promises made during my consultation. None of the key assurances about the design, timeline, or fitting process were provided in writing, and when problems arose, I was directed to terms of service buried on the company's website. With two weeks until my wedding, it was looking like I might not have anything to wear, and I was forced to find another outfit off the rack. The Tailory refused to release me from my contract or issue a refund. After a thorough investigation, I ultimately recovered my money through a Visa chargeback, despite The Tailory disputing my claim. At no point did The Tailory accept responsibility or apologize. They treated me like my expectations were unreasonable, and I was to blame. Afterward, I spoke with multiple bridal professionals about the situation. They listened with sympathy and horror. While acknowledging that unexpected issues can arise with custom garments, they consistently told me my experience was not normal. Several said that in those situations they work around the clock to deliver the finished garment with at least two weeks to spare. Even if some of the problems stemmed from a former employee, my contract was with The Tailory, not that employee. They failed to deliver what they promised and left me scrambling to find something to wear for my wedding. I cannot recommend them.

I came to the Tailory to find something that would inspire me in terms of an outfit for my wedding. Dylan and his team were able to work with me to develop a custom jumpsuit that I felt beautiful in. They walked me through every step of the design process and I walked away every time feeling confident in my choice to work with them. I recommend that you start working with them as early as you can so they can have ample time to make a quality piece that you will cherish.

The Tailory New York helped me create a stunning suit for my dad’s wedding. Their measuring app is incredible and so easy, taking up to 20+ different ones I didn’t even know they needed! They have SO many fabric choices, which was the only part that overwhelmed me. The team also communicated so quickly throughout this process making me feel assured that my suit would come out exactly how I envisioned it. Definitely coming again for more casual suits!

The best custom tailoring experiences I’ve had. The team is very professional and really helped me design the perfect wedding suit. They continued to refine it until it was just right. Unlike experiences at other custom tailors where once they started tweaking things kept getting worse, the tweaks here made the right adjustments to have the suit fit me perfectly. My experience with the Tailory was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Every person that I interacted with was helpful, responsive, and kind. I got a beautiful suit for my wedding, and have never been happier with any purchase in my life. I would recommend them to anyone looking for beautiful custom clothing.

The Tailory is AMAZING. If you're a woman who wears suits, you probably know how difficult it is to find an off-the-rack suit that fits. The Tailory eliminates that problem. The suit and shirt they made for me fit better than anything I've ever owned or tried. Also, the fabric and pattern of the suit are gorgeous--I had a ton of options to choose from and the combination I found is professional, yet hip. The staff is knowledgeable, kind and disarming--I had no idea what I was doing going into this and they made the process easy and fun. The suit was ready when they promised it would be and I've already received tons of compliments. Paying a little extra (although it's not all that much extra!) for a custom-made suit is absolutely worth it. I no longer regard having to wear a suit for work occasions as a chore. I really can't recommend the Tailory enough and I look forward to working with them again!
