Kind of super irritated at the fact that 15 minutes before close i sent my wife to get 3 things. She got them all but could not find the ranch, she was trying to be courteous and get out as fast as possible, so she asked an employee and they said “idk, guess we don't have it” then walked off while she was still talking. Which is actually ridiculous considering its ranch, they do have it. And the rude employee couldn't even give her an aisle number or direct her to a PIC? Hector I know your seeing this. Train your employees to have some respect and actually do there jobs please. P.S. tried calling to ask the aisle number and the phone was ringing for over 15 minutes before i finally hung up. Oh and apparently she got shrugged off by your self checkout attendant and then they proceeded to walk away and not help her. And please for the love of god i don't need an automated response saying your sorry, please just train your employees.

As far as Safeway's go, this one has much more quality produce than what was expected.

The short version is avoid this location if possible because they have such stringent loss prevention measures in place that it makes it hard to buy things from them. The long version is: Last time I was here half the stuff I wanted (toiletries) was in a restricted section cut off from the rest of the store, so I had to make separate transactions. That is a major annoyance that no other Safeway I have been to has had. Today I needed a few things so I stopped by again after preparing a route through the store to try not to have to backtrack in and out of the restricted section. Outside a homeless person was yelling at me. The security guard told me I had to leave my backpack at the front. My backpack has my work laptop, it's not my property and I can't just leave it sitting by the entrance where anyone can walk out with it. I have no belief that the security guard would put their safety on the line to protect my backpack (and nor should they!) So I went somewhere else instead. There are a lot of other convenience stores around here, and the farmer's market on Saturdays. I would try either of those options over this location of Safeway any day.

One entrance with 5 security guards crowded around it, supposedly due to shoplifting risk. The only available checkout is self-checkout, the highest risk for shoplifting, and no personnel funding went toward operating the real checkout lanes. Is management stupid, or do they have an ulterior motive that's not really about store safety? You decide.

There are very few products on the shelves, the inside often smells of urine, and there’s constant fights and drug use outside. Go to literally any other grocery store. Update: I stopped in for the first time in a while. Zero improvement, still very few products on the shelves, still smells like urine. They now have a policy where you're required to leave any bags or backpacks upfront. While the security guards were polite about it, I didn't feel safe leaving my belongings upfront. The bags are all in a pile right by the entrance, anyone could just run in and steal them. I am officially done with this Safeway for good. For the last few months I've been going to whole foods and new seasons and I have a much better experience at both places.

Very small Safeway compared to others. Rude staff, rude third party vendors. Security is inattentive

Told me they would hold my groceries while I grabbed my money from home which is ONE block away. Came back and they had already put back the groceries that took me over an hour to purchase (I have a very strict budget) and just shrugged at me when I asked why. Honest to god they don’t give two craps about anyone in that building

I like using Safeway because they have the fresh pass but they also have it to where if you can't afford the fresh cuts every month they have it where you can have your groceries picked up by someone else and they do the shopping for you and if they are out of stock of things that you put on your grocery list they will keep in contact with you and ask you to keep in contact with them so if if you say you want to have substitutions they will look for the store or look in what they have and see what best comes close to what you ordered and they do ask you before they do the substitutions that way they know it's okay and that way you don't get extra charge without your knowledge.

I’ve never left a review on any establishment before, but I am now due to how badly I was treated at this store. I’ve only been to this location once (& my last) a few months ago, so I can’t speak on what the rest of the store or staff is like, but the one employee I interacted was by far the rudest anyone in customer service has ever been towards me (so the one star is specifically for this employee). I work in customer service myself, am good at avoiding and handling conflict, and am always very kind towards workers. And even with that, the employee (I think their name was Whisper?) was so unnecessary blatantly rude and aggressive. I ran in just to grab a bottle of contacts solution real quick and, as I had never been to this location before, I wasn’t familiar their system that you have to buy items from a specific aisle from a specific designated check out. I was walking to the self checkout area when this employee literally yelled “LOOK!!!” at me, and I was so confused because surely they’re not talking to me, what could I possibly be doing wrong right now? but I turned toward them and they just aggressively pointed at the sign in the middle of the aisle that essentially says that items from that aisle have to be bought at that specific check out (which I would like to add that the sign has like a full sentence on it and I feel like if you’re trying to get customers’ attention and make sure they understand what the sign’s saying, then make the words a little more concise lol. like something like “STOP- items from this aisle must be purchased here” or something). And I will say I have ADHD and am aware I can be very tunnel vision in situations like this and not paying attention to things around me to notice a sign like that. So when this employee put me on the spot I was already apologetic, but WOW I still cannot believe how insanely rude they were to me. I was like “Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that!!” and they LITERALLY rolled their eyes at me, like right in front of my face, and in the maybe 30 second interaction that was them checking out my item, they managed to be continuously so rude to me and sighed at me when I was literally nothing but nice to them. Maybe they were just having a bad day, which I can definitely have some sympathy towards that, but I can’t imagine under any circumstance being THAT aggressive towards a stranger, especially a nice one, and ESPECIALLY when you’re working in customer service and it’s literally your job to just be nice… and also over such a minor, honest mistake… one that I’m sure lots of people make. There would’ve been absolutely no issues if they had just said something normal like “Excuse me! You have to pay for that here!” or quite literally anything other than how they chose to act. The whole situation was so confusing, upsetting, completely unnecessary, and again, never in my life has anyone treated me like that as a customer. Again, maybe they were just having a bad day, but regardless I truly do not think someone like that should be working in customer service. If you’re doing a job like that, you need to be able to keep your frustrations controlled a LITTLE better than that and not openly taking your anger out on customers and being terrible rep for the store as a whole.

I don't usually shop brick n motor for groceries as I do not have a car and do not live close. I was here about 5:30pm and the place was packed. I was impressed with the efficiency of the line management. Between speedy checkers and an abundance of self checkout stations, I waited maybe five minutes. It was an all together enjoyable experience to actually pick out the fruit and veggies vs delivery being at the mercy of the order picking agent. Even at this busy hour, nothing seemed out control, and being handled by someone
