Just walked in to lovely decorated Union Station to purchase coffee for gift baskets for my family. None of the whole bean coffees had prices on them at Parisi. I had to ask for assistance, in order to get some attention as two of the three baristas were engrossed in their cell phones and one was serving a customer. Then when I asked for price information, the pregnant gal obviously bothered by my inquiry replied with a price range. I asked which labels were the $15 coffees? I guess I continued to bother her as she had to look up prices on computer. It took a little back and forth as no one came from behind the counter to assist me. I picked out my coffees $50/ worth with tax, and before I was rung up I asked if they could be ground. The gal who rung me up was a bit more personable. After I paid for my coffee, the cashier just placed the three coffee bags in front of me on the counter. I looked at her and then she asked the others that were mesmerized by their phones if she should grind the bags of coffee or should they? The one who was bothered by my price inquiry, said she would do it. She ground the three bags and then placed them in front of me on the counter. Not even a thank you, no eye contact or anything. I walk with a cane even without a cane, I would think someone would ask if you need a bag when you purchase three bags of coffee. It’s not like you can put them in your pockets. I asked if I could have a bag. Once again she appeared bothered and she walked into the storage room. She came out and said, “We don’t have any.” So I asked another associate who had just come out of the back with a cart full of sodas if they had any bags. She replied, “We should have some brown bags.” She then asked the other baristas if they had bags and the pregnant woman replied, “ No.” If you want holiday spirit to go with the elaborate decorations at Union station, you might wish to bring your coffee from elsewhere. The only reason I went there was to support a local KC business. My holiday gift baskets always include local KC products. Parisi was a staple in those baskets pre pandemic. Guess I will be substituting another local roaster in my gift baskets next year.
Absolutely awful. The guy at the counter was friendly and knowledgeable. He told me that a large cappuccino "for here" came in a round porcelain cup. It matters so that the espresso and milk can blend together and allow for a reasonable temperature. Then the woman making it ruined the entire experience. The espresso was terrible and flavorless, the milk was scorched, the foamed milk was entirely the wrong texture and they served it in a large to-go cup without asking me. On top of the product itself, the woman kept giving me and everyone in my family very rude looks without saying anything. She forgot to make a drink for someone else in my party and failed to actually announce when any of the drinks were done. Overall, terrible. Avoid at all costs.
Great place to grab a Cup and enjoy a breakfast pastry in the middle of u job station they serve decent coffee and amazing baked goods if you don't enjoy sitting out in Union station you can go around the baristas and sit in a very quiet spot behind the cafe where you can get access to electrical outlets. Nice friendly staff happy people. They also have juice and some salad sandwich stuff for someone on the go looking for a quick lunch bite.
#1. I like the fact that it is Kansas City based. "By local, stay local.....when you can." I always say. A bag is in my fridge. This location is sharp, really polished and very moderne. Perfect for our crown jewel of a train station. I have come in and out on many an occasion and always stop for some latte art. Always a nice person behind the counter and always very clean. Nice job!
Grabbed an iced macchiato, great little place. In the must see KC Union Station!
Kansas City is home to a number of remarkable coffee cafes; local, boutique gems with authentic, helpful servers and flavorful pours. Parisi is not among them. Aside from Union Station, this place is dispiriting. The servers are lifeless; responding to your presence like you've disrupted and imposed upon their precious time. The coffee is middling and overpriced with the worst offender being perhaps the Affogato which is undersized, scrawny and meek; akin to eating a ping pong ball out of a Dixie cup. The grand impeccable Union Station is this location's only saving grace.
Had the best cafe mocha I have had in years here. The BEST in years. Definitely 5 stars on that. A great little place to get a quick coffee. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was the staff. The service was alright, but they all looked like they would rather be working anywhere else.
The way they hand out drinks is confusing, orders get mixed up, they forgot to even make one drink I ordered until I reminded them and another drink was supposed to be white chocolate and raspberry flavored but it tasted like nothing until the very end because 90% of the syrup was sitting at the bottom and was undrinkable. The pastries are good though
I love love love the coffee beans here. Smoothest coffee ever and it's my favorite; that's the only reason I keep going back because the customer service is hit or miss. Some days the staff is great and friendly and other days it's like they could care less what you say when you order and when they reply- like having a conversation with a cat's paw. How about even asking our names to call out our coffee is ready??? [Note* They could also use a really good cleaning of the entire little space.]
The coffee generally tastes burnt and/or weak, but the burritos are tasty. Service and atmosphere are great. The beans are probably good, but I'm not sure I want to risk it.
