Once Upon A Child - Universal City

I haven't dealt with the selling items side, Karen, and that seems to be your problem. I've decked out my upstairs landing with tons of great toys, LOTS of books, tents, chests, etc. and we are so happy to have found this place. The girls at the front are sometimes arrogant and a little rude- but great store and presence despite. If I were you, I might have an option where you can leave discarded items for donation- but only if you had the room and could arrange for a weekly pickup from a vendor (Salvation Army, goodwill, etc.), then attach like a 5% off coupon on anything purchased that day. I understand the pain point you have to deal with of people putting difficult values on their own items- this might alleviate some of that, and drive up same-transaction sales to cover the 5% discount. Diverse and clean interior aesthestics- great selection.

I would have to spend hours in this store to be able to see everything. Although second hand the quality doesn't reflect the quality of their merchandise. Reasonable prices, unlike Goodwill, who sells their second clothes and goods at original retail prices, I walk out with 3 full bags of clothes for under $50

This hidden gem is heaven sent. The store has an enormous selection of baby clothes ranging from preemies up to kids. You will spend pennies to the dollar for mint condition second hand clothes. I spent less than $50 for a dresser full of baby clothes. There are small carts for your shopping, and plenty of employees to assist. This place doesn't just sell clothes, there's a generous amount of shoes, toys, blankets, pacifiers and furniture. A must visit for spoiling all the babies you know on a budget.

I gave 3 stars only because the organization is a little frustrating, on both occasions of me being there i was looking for something specific, when i asked a staff member i was it could be in multiple places however no one was willing to help... or show me, just told by this or that. Also the used toys... alot are priced more than i would spend to get then new.. which defeats the purpose. I LOVE getting great deals on cloths for my kids but these were issues i had

I like the deals here. I do admit sometimes I wish they had a little more on sale. Sometimes the line can be a little crazy and the last time I went I did get overcharged but the line was so bad I didn't want to go back. Overall I think it is a great place to go check out and you can get some really good affordable deals. I have yet to sell my stuff there but I will try that soon.

Customer service was horrible! There were at least 4 workers at the counter when I walked in with my baby. None of them greeted me, which was ok, until they all stared at me (as I came into the store). I was there shopping for my three children. There was a worker who kept walking past me (at least three times), without eye contact or saying a word. Other customers entered the store and were greeted. The cashier who did my check out didn’t even speak back when I greeted her. She spoke of my rewards, expeditiously, as if she wanted me to leave the store. I felt completely un-welcomed. I absolutely, love Once Upon a Child; however, this specific location has rude and prejudice workers.

Very pleased with the quality and selection of their slightly used items. They are always fully stocked and their $1 day sales are amazing! They have a great selection of toddler shoes at very reasonable prices. As a single mother everytime I go I always end up buying so much adorable and inexpensive clothing. Lol. Thank you once upon a child so glad I found yall. ☺️ Thank you for having a return policy as well. Alot of thrift stores once you purchase you can not return.

Well I had previously posted a review giving only 1 star. This was because of 1 particularly rude employee who to me seemed like she was in charge in some way as other employees seemed to follow suit with how she acted towards myself during my prior visits to this location. I swore I would never go back to this location however I decided to give them another try. I was surprised at how differently the employees seemed to be towards me. They were all polite and I had absolutely no issues whatsoever. However what I did notice was that that 1 particular employee was not there at that time. Anyway I have been back now 4 times since then n am happy to say I haven't had any issues at all. I was almost certain that rude employee was no longer employed there but to my surprise she is still there as I seen her during my last visit. I didn't see her speak to anyone the entire time I was there, not even the other employees, which is probably best for everyone lol. I will b returning as long as this location continues to keep up the good work n keeps the good attitude.

Today I decided to visit the UC location, however I left very disappointed. Initially, when I dropped off my items earlier this morning, the two employees that checked in my items informed me that it would be two hours, maybe even less. They shared with me that they go through items in the order that they were received and that there were FOUR in front of me. I explained that I don't live nearby and that I would be back in two hours. My daughter and I ran some errands and we came back two hours later. At this time, a different employee was at the counter and I asked if my items were ready. She expressed that they were not ready, and that they had not even started on mine yet. I told her that I had been informed that it would be ready in two hours or less.....she asked, "Well who told you that?" I explained that it was the girls who checked in my items. She then said, "Well I don't know why they would have told you that, there are still tubs from yesterday that have not been gone through yet." She then explained that she could not go through my items at the moment......so I requested my items back. I shared with her that this store needs to have better communication between their employees. It is very disappointing knowing I drove 35 minutes there, waited around for 2 hours, and drove 35 minutes home for nothing. I will take the tub of Ralph Lauren and Baby Gap little boy clothes, along with the tub of boutique girls clothing, and the tub of toys (several which were brand new and still in the box) somewhere else.

The store is very organized and clean. They have a lot of variety and a nice selection of Melissa & Doug toys. My only complaint is that the woman who did my buy, Stephanie, was extremely rude to me at drop off and pickup for no reason. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location based on how I was treated.
