I hate to say it bluntly but we had an honestly horrible experience. Hostess said it would be a 2 hour long experience, which we were looking forward to and were ready to relax. Random flickering lights in old colored wine bottles made the atmosphere feel dated and unkempt. Sat at 6:25 to a dirty table. Server gave us water and didn't show up for >10 minutes. Alerted the host and they took our order instead of the server. Didn't see the server for another 10 minutes. Arrived with food and scurried off while in the middle of me asking to order a drink. Ordered it from the bartender. At this point I knew that I was sitting at table 23. Food portions were hilariously small. Had a 4 course dinner and I'm still hungry. "Entrees" contained about 7oz. of meat. $6 summer sausage portion was two thin 2" diameter sausages cut into 8 pieces (picture posted of this in review). I could order double meat at Subway and get far more meat for less. Ordered a Coors Light, waitress never picked it up. Saw it at the well on the bar and asked the bartender if I could just run it for her and confirmed it was mine for table 23. Got to the table warm and it tasted flat. I general manage a bar and drink Coors every day. This one was gross. Dinner for 2 = $185 with drinks. On the vast amount of places you can eat for that price in Portland, The Melting Pot is an absolute scam. I feel dumb for trying it honestly. Literally go to Fogo Dr Chao next door. NEVER again. Terrible service, outdated in a bad way atmosphere, small portions, not worth its price range.

We made the reservation with the lovers package. Upon arrival, we were very happy with the setup: the bear with the handwritten card for our special occasion. Our server was very attentive and cheerful. If you ever come here, please get Ollie because he will make sure you have a good time. I noticed the lady serving the table next to us not up to Ollie's standard. Don't let the "wrong" server ruin your special night.

Such a cool experience! Visited here with my bf and we only had the dessert portion because we mistakenly had a huge lunch prior. Definitely coming back for their 5 course meal! Also the service was awesome and shout out to Haime, his service was the best!

Had a 7:15pm reservation. Got seated at 7:25pm, at 7:45pm we still hadn’t been acknowledged at all. Restaurant was not busy. Three servers passed multiple times and never spoke. We walked out. Very sad, I was really looking forward to our meal.

As soon I walked down the stairs to this underground restaurant and opened the door my nose was filled with the aroma of what I assumed was the AMAZING food I was about to consume. This is not just an order and eat establishment. This is an entire experience that I wasn’t even expecting. It was my 30th birthday and our table was decorated and my husband and I got our picture taken. Our server Stacy was so helpful. She kept our drinks coming, along with the 4 Course Meal for 2 that we had ordered. She gave us all the tips and tricks from dipping our fondue to special cooking tips on our entree’s. She was so sweet and the entire staff was helpful and eager to help my birthday be amazing! The food was high quality and prepared beautifully until we dug in and devoured almost everything. The courses were spaced out nicely , courtesy of Stacy. The best part was our amazing array of deserts to dip in the Banana Foster fondue. Stacey lit it on fire and caramelized it perfectly! Needless to say my husband and I were extremely happy with the entire experience. We were there for almost 3 hours. It didn’t feel that long because we had a blast and an amazing meal!

The Melting Pot is such a treat! Our server was Darius and he was wonderfully attentive without being overly so, Madison checked in on us as well. Both staff members were kind and friendly. We throughly enjoyed our entire dining experience. The booths are comfortable, the food delicious and fun, and the atmosphere inviting.

I came in at 8:15pm, so I understand service may not be optimal. That said, the food and atmosphere were not up to the standard one would expect at the price point and for a Melting Pot. The dingy, liminal lighting with flickering bulbs and the cramped booth seating area leaves you yearning for any other chain restaurant. The cheese and chocolate were okay - skipped the entree based off of the other reviews. While the cheese felt somewhat reminiscent of high quality, the sides felt like someone ran to Trader Joe’s and threw bagged snacks into a manual food chopper. The beneficial part was the experience of fondue… but I would have just gone to Szechuan hot pot if that was the sole reason I came here. The only saving grace was our waiter. Bless her for offering to refill the sides, especially the desserts. She did seem pre-occupied but understandably so being near closing time, although I did call the front desk and ask if that was an issue before coming in. With that being said, every table around us had a different waiter, with different waiters randomly dropping by ours. From my point of view, I’m surprised tables weren’t sectioned off per waiter. Having to scoot by multiple waiter tables in a small lane was quite awkward. I still left a 20% tip, so I didn’t feel too slighted I suppose.

I took myself on a date here and had the whole Package for one. It was amazing and the staff was so nice to me. I absolutely loved it. Such a fun environment and great food. Amazing mocktail list was two pages long

What an absolute amazing experience! My husband made reservations online and opted for the romance package, at least that's I think He called it, I loved it! No special occasion other than a date night. Rose petals around the "stove" chocolate treats, keepsake picture, and a privacy curtain! Service was wonderful and food was the same. We ordered "The Big Night Out" for $119 and was so worth it. You get a true experience doing it this way. Come hungry! We also ordered beer and a bottle of wine. Perfection! We made it a wonderful experience, we enjoyed our time and spent 3 hours there. Don't wait book and go!

Took our daughter and her 4 teenage friends to dinner here to celebrate her birthday and was throughly happy with our entire experience. Started off with some cocktails and mocktails that we were all satisfied with. Moved onto the star of the show, cheese fondue (A la cart), we sprung for the loaded baked potato, and I was more than thrilled. Next, we ordered our entrees and again were satisfied with my selection. By this point, we were all too full to even order a dessert, but we were given coupons for free dessert fondue on our next visit! For everyone in our party. 7 of us!!
