Delicious Italian restaurant right in the heart of Center City. Best service in the city. Staff was so awesome, always asking if we needed anything, spoke to us in Italian. Food was excellent and came out quickly. Shout out to our server Tina and manager Chris.
AMAZING place. We highly recommend it. Incredible food, awesome service, cozy ambiance. It has it all. Affordable food punching far above it's weight in quality too was the icing on top. Perfect mix of fast casual coffee place and gelato bar with high end service for a sit down restaurant too. You won't regret it!
Great experience.Selections were phenomenal and authentic.Servers were warm and friendly. They were happy to accommodate and suggest.Homelike atmosphere, comfortable and relaxed.
WOW! Absurdly delicious! I genuinely was not expecting the food to be as good as it was-considering it’s in center city. But they definitely proved me wrong. Would absolutely come again and again!
Visited here for the first with a friend . We ordered alot of food. Food was amazing!! Our waiter, Bobby was very friendly and informative. For appetizers, we had Burrata with tomato basil caprese (amazing!!!), fig and cheese tray(pretty good), and the Pera salad ( I can eat that salad forever!!). For entrees we had Gnocchi and tagliatella pasta. tagliatella was really flavorful. Their Gelato is really good. I had an amaretto(strong flavor profile) but the pistachio(subtle flavor) was def better!!! Latte and a cappuccino were good as well. The only negative and the reason I took away a star: their bathroom needs to be really cleaned and maybe locks on the stalls would help.
Borro was probably one of the best hosts/ managers I’ve ever encountered in the business. He treated me like family, the rich history of this place dates back 30 plus years the Longo family has some of the best recipes this side of the pond. Authentic old world cuisines with modern day twists. It’s like transporting you back to the early bistro days where one felt at home when you came to eat there. The staff is simply put some of the best in tbe business. I felt the magic of the original Italian bistro there. The seasonal dishes the fresh seafood the mussels red were just as good as the other dishes they served. The linguine di mare red sauce was perfect Al dente pasta literally just melts on your tongue. The buttery gelato flights are masterfully made in-house by authentic Italian hands. The wines by the bottle are moderately priced so have one if you’re going to drink more than two glasses. The tiramisu was made fresh and had some great texture with a signature cappuccino. I didn’t want to leave the place at all but my meter was close to running out. I’ll come back Again’ can’t thank your staff enough for the love I felt right from the door. It’s a hidden gem in mid city that people need to know about. I highly recommend this place , the mercato italiano is an added bonus pick up some wine cheese and gelato or any desert of Your choosing you can’t go wrong with this place. I want to thank everyone for making my experience and first time there so memorable next time I’ll come with a party of 6 or more it’s just worth it!
So today I was with my friend, we were starving and we ordered Spaghetti and a tiramisu. The tiramisu came first but it wasn’t a regular tiramisu, it was a gelato?!?!? After the spaghetti came, it wasn’t tasty at all, cold like they were cooked yesterday, so hard to eat… like more hard than al dente! “The best part” was that he forgot giving us the forks!!! After my friend told the bartender that he misunderstood our order and that she ordered a regular tiramisu. The place was good but expensive, if the food was good, I’d say it was worth it.
Stellar experience at Gran Caffe L'Aquila. I went with a larger group (16) of coworkers for lunch. The appetizer boards were we'll crafted, pasta was fresh, the salmon was absolutely delicious, and the gelato made on site was extremely flavorful. The service staff was great as well. Our server gave recommendations, explained components of dishes, and was overall polite and professional.
Each week the specials menu changes as they focus on a different region of Italy for inspiration. The standard menu is delicious, and I love always having a new option each time I visit. You must NOT leave without getting some gelato!!
The best Italian I've had in my entire life. I've been to maybe 20 Italian sit-down experiences, and this one took the crown. What a jewel. Daniel our server was one of the best servers I've ever had in my life as well. I've had maybe 50 waiters wait on me until now, but Daniel was easy top five. Truly a wonderful experience and delicious gourmet food, without being absurdly expensive
