Grace Loves Lace - New York

🤩 I only came in to try on some gloves for size ahead of ordering. When I emailed, Seth replied immediately and it worked out that I was able to swing by after work. He was SO helpful and lovely and went out of his way to explain the options to me. I regret not getting my dress there. I would 100% recommend, and the gowns are sensational. 🫶

We had a terrible experience. I received the dress on a Saturday and on Sunday I contacted them to say the wedding was canceled. It was a ready to wear dress not even out of the shipping box that they refused to take back. It’s not a custom dress so there shouldn’t be an issue. That 7 day return policy is only a store credit, which doesn’t work if you are not getting married. And the sales person don’t tell us that was the case. Terrible customer service once we said we wanted to return. Didn’t respond for multiple days saying it was a holiday. Believed the sales person that she told us the store credit policy. Shame on them. Ethical they are NOT.

So I did not get my dress here… BUT my experience is worth telling…. Callie is devine! I was late to my appointment (I did call) and she was the kindest to my girls while they waited for me. She started by popping some champagne for them and made us all comfortable. Her personality is great and she was not over pushy which is so important. As all of the dresses I tried were literally so comfortable, fit like a glove and SUPER cooling I really thought I was going to choose one from them…. I love the sustainability and everything about this designer and brand. I think I just saw too many brides and advertisements on IG featuring the dresses I chose. And even though the dresses were beautiful…. I wanted something a little different and more out of the box for me. Despite, my reasoning for not choosing a dress here, I seriously believe everyone should experience their level of service. It was probably my favorite experience at a wedding dress store ever (and I’ve been a bridesmaid several times, have been to dozens of bridal boutiques and have been to Kleinfeld’s). Grace Love Lace topped them all! Thanks again Callie! You are a GEM!

Go see Gabi!! Truly, I had SUCH a good experience here from start to finish and highly recommend! Everyone there was so kind and d friendly and even the stylists/managers that weren’t helping us said hello to our group and were all kind. Gabi listened to what I liked/disliked and pulled out the perfect dress as a suggestion based on what I had already tried on.

I have mixed reviews of my Grace Loves Lace experience. I still had to give it a 4 because of how my actual dress itself exceeded my expectations. My very first experience with Grace Loves Lace was also fantastic. I went to the appointment last November/December with my two close friends and Nova was our stylist. She took amazing care of us, and pulled the dress I wanted to try on, as well as a couple of others, just in case. I am a curvy bride and despite offering inclusive sizes, they do not have many samples in the store above a medium or large (which is probably a regular size small or medium). I have heard people say this about bridal shops and amazingly it had not been my experience at all before GLL. I had my heart set on this dress since before I was even engaged, and it did not disappoint. My friends and Nova were all excited for me, Nova brought me a veil to try it with and we celebrated --- but did not purchase it then and there, because I did want my mom to see it before she bought it for me, so we made another appointment. When I went back for the second appointment, they had just changed locations and their stock had changed. I had a different stylist, whose name I don't even remember, because the appointment was very impersonal and she seemed completely disinterested. I had initially scheduled for this appt to be in NJ but when they told me they did not have my size of the dress in the floor samples but that New York did, I changed the appointment to New York. However, they did not have my size sample in stock, which completely defeated the purpose of the trip -- I would have just showed my mother the pictures we took with Nova, rather than have her see me in two unflattering dresses and tell her I'm buying a different one. The stylist also told me I would have to buy a "Ready to Wear" dress which has a more limited selection, and I reminded her that my wedding was in 11 months. At this appointment, I tried the dress I picked out, two sizes smaller than I previously tried. It fit on without an issue but was definitely less flattering. I was curious about whether I should purchase the dress in a size between the two, rather than larger one I'd tried. I went with the middle size and panicked later, called customer service, and we discussed the order and measurements. They told me that my measurements suggested that I would be an even larger size, which was shocking to me based on my regular clothing size measurements. Ultimately, I went with the larger one, knowing it would be easier to take the dress in and almost impossible to take it out, if somehow I was wrong. The dress was not tight in any places when it arrived and had to be taken in a little bit here and there, I kind of suspect that the middle size might have only needed to be altered for length and not taken in, but in the grand scheme of things, I have a dress that fits beautifully and I am so glad to be out of the stress spiral that occurred from December until the dress arrived in July. So, in short --- a lot depends on who your stylist is. Ask all the questions. Double check with them via phone that they have your size/style available and not just through the online appointment scheduler, if you have your heart set on something or are larger than a size 8. And, from everything I've read, do NOT buy a custom size because they way they are made, they likely still would require alterations. BUT the dress is beautiful and comfortable and I do remember that first appointment with Nova and the magical feeling of trying on the right dress -- and I try to take that experience with me, and leave the rest.

We love Michelle! She cared so much about making the fitting a group experience for the Bride as well as everyone involved. The dresses were ALL beautiful and the service was quick, thoughtful, and so so exciting. We wouldn’t have wanted to spend this first experience anywhere else. We tried over 7 dresses and they were all unique, and Michelle truly put so much thought into each one- listening to critiques about lace, fit, etc. Mother of the bride also wants me to add- GENUINELY PRICED! truly, a great time. Absolutely stunning bridal boutique with an amazing experience from start to finish! Grace Loves Lace New York has a beautiful, elegant showroom with a very calm and welcoming atmosphere. The dresses are breathtaking — modern, high-quality, and incredibly comfortable. The staff were incredibly kind, patient, and professional. They truly listened to what I wanted and helped me find the perfect dress without any pressure. The fitting process was smooth and very well organized. This is truly a dream place for any bride looking for a special and memorable experience. Highly recommended!

I was so nervous when trying on dresses because I'm not the most confident...I was especially nervous because most of the GLL models are so tiny. When I went the first time, I had a different salesperson, Victoria (who was also amazing, but I was informed she left). When Emily took over as my salesperson (sorry I'm blanking on a better term), she was so unbelievably incredible throughout the entire process and fitting. I INSTANTLY felt comfortable with her and not ashamed of how I looked at all. She was so down to earth and kind, and made everything feel a lot less scary. I truly don't think I would have proceeded with a GLL dress if not for her. (And that's not to say I didn't LOVE the Nathalia dress, but I was for sure nervous I wasn't "skinny enough" or "stereotypically pretty" enough for it). She helped me to feel so beautiful when trying it on and I'm forever grateful for her for that! When I met with Emily the 2nd time to say YES to the Nathalia and do my last fitting before ordering, again, she was just absolutely amazing. She has such a kind soul and nurturing way that helps people feel seen! GLL, I've dreamt since I was in HS of having the Inca dress as my wedding dress, and although I ultimately obviously went with the gorgeous Nathalia, I couldn't be more excited to wear a grace loves lace dress on my wedding day! (in a little over a month!!) Thank you to the company and staff for the excellent communication, and the ease of making appointments. Thank you for accommodating my 2nd fitting after I had surgery and couldn't take more time off work and had to come on the weekend! I thought dress shopping would be dreadful, but you guys made it amazing. Emily especially!! So if you see this Emily, you're the best <3 Ps. I'll update with pics after 11/5 :)

I had such a wonderful first bridal appt at Grace Loves Lace with Lilly. She was so welcoming and offered complementary champagne to my full group upon arrival. Lilly took the time to sit down with me and discuss the vision I had for my gown and wedding, and selected gowns she thought would complement my vision and body. She was so patient, kind, and made the experience so enjoyable. Their website allows you to browse their unique gown selection and see past brides wearing their gowns before your appt. The NYC store location is absolutely gorgeous, that is large enough to receive individualized experience with your stylist. I highly recommend any NYC bride go visit Lilly in SOHO. Thank you, Lilly!
