Nice coffeehouse in Cap Hill. Also sells food and has a fair vit of vegetarian options.

Love the idea! They're in a cavernous, modern space and have melded outdoor gear rental with cafe offerings quite well. A great hangout spot. I'm not involved in the outdoor activities, but I'm more inspired to after having gone. They only serve coffee/tea, beer, and baked goods. Would like to see some savory options.

This place not only has amazing coffee and matcha, and a very cool and comfortable vibe, it also has some of the friendliest staff we have met in Seattle, especially the barista Michael!

I randomly stopped by Gearhouse Coffee Shop in Seattle around 6 pm and honestly did not expect it to be this lively on a Wednesday evening. The place was packed as they were having a board-game night. It was actually really fun to see everyone was into their games, chatting, laughing, just super good vibes. I ordered a lavender latte and it was amazing. What really stood out is that this place is way more than just a typical coffee shop. It feels like a community spot, the kind of place designed for people to hang out, meet others, study, or just do their own thing. I noticed they seem to offer memberships and different activities, which I’m definitely planning to check out next time. If you’re in the area and want great coffee & a genuinely warm, community-driven atmosphere, definitely check this place out.

Place is amazing. Seating is great. Food was also great. There are books to read. The only problem: Coffee wasn’t made professionally. Milk wasn’t stemmed properly.

Super friendly vibe. Others commenting on how not Seattle it was. Did was toasted pre prepped paninis. Didn't suck, but... And no other options. Coffee excellent, fun spot.

I love this place. I have been coming here for 3 years now, and when anyone I know comes into town, I always give this place a recommendation. Reasons why this place is awesome 1. immaculate vibe -especially if you love outdoor stuff. Tons of reading material, maps, and good inspiration for any outdoor trips 2. The coffee is incredible!! Tastes amazing and importantly comes out at a temperature that one can drink it and not burn yourself on. Shoutout to Tony for making the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. 3. The Gearhouse community is awesome and even when I wasn’t a member I still throughout enjoyed coming here. No pressure, just good vibes. If you do join as a member though, there’s a lot of good information from beginners to advanced, and you may even make some friends going on trips 4. Last but not least, as an outdoor guy myself, I hate going to shops for questions on gear as i always feel pressured to make a purchase. However not here! I have asked questions on all types of gear to get information on why I should buy and when/where I should get it. Long story short, if you haven’t come here, come here. Brown sugar soy latte came out to ~$8 after tax. Coffee is a little sour but very smooth. Overall a nice ambiance for reading and sipping coffee

I've been coming here since they were called Basecamp (which was a much better name than Gearhouse)...anyway, I used to love it here, even though the coffee has always been pretty bad (it really depends on the barista, but 9/10 times, it's burnt or watery). But, since they started cracking down on the WiFi usage, the vibe just feels uncomfortable and surveilled. They've tried a handful of tactics to keep customers buying the bad coffee, including only giving the WiFi code printed on a receipt, printing the most ridiculous tiny slips of paper for 1-time, 4-hour usage that you only get when you make a purchase, and now, they have a ridiculous sign that says if you plan to hunker down, order every two hours. Look, I'm all for respecting a small business, and keeping their doors open, but Gearhouse isn't going bankrupt. They have lively game nights, craft nights, and happy hours where the lines are long, and they're selling alcohol. Not to mention, their members are paying $39-$195 a month for memberships. Seats always open up even when it's crowded or folks are "hunkering down" in what is meant to be a community space, so there really is no need to police the WiFi. I will always purchase a beverage when I come in, but every two hours? That's so unnecessary, and again, the product isn't worth purchasing every two hours. Oh, and the revolving door of baristas is a testament to the culture. Several of them have mentioned being unhappy, over worked/having to do things outside of what they were hired to do, and are there for nothing more than the paycheck. So why do I come back? The tables are big, there are tons of outlets, and it's close to my home, but honestly, I think I'm going to switch spots, because Gearhouse has lost it's charm, character, and class.

If I’m basing off of coffee alone, it would be a 1; I ordered lavender coffee and it was so overpoweringly sweet I couldn’t drink it. There was also no milk art (bad frothing). For $8 that was really disappointing. I can make much better coffee at home. The only redeeming qualities are the interesting vibe and some ski rental section, but I would not come here for coffee
