We got a latte with caramel syrup, the bacon/egg melt, and breakfast burrito. Sandwiches were microwaved which was a bit disappointing, but still tasted good. The coffee was average, nothing mind blowing (but coffee doesn’t always need to be). What stood out was the atmosphere, and friendly service. We liked seeing all the backpacking and skiing gear around the cafe, as well as all the classes/events hosted! Parking seems like it could be difficult but we were able to find street parking at 8:45 on a Tuesday.
i’ve been to gearhouse a few times to work and drink coffee and it is always such a delight! tonight i went to the wilderness women’s happy hour and had such a wonderful time talking with like minded women and getting to know more of the seattle community. gearhouse is a perfect place to create community!
I just had a child and have been having the wildest cravings for a super spicy chai. I came to this place and was so surprised at how nice the staff were. The music was great too The chai was just as spicy as I wanted, and the barista (I think there bame was Tony?) was so sweet and complimented how cute my newborn was. I made an account to leave this review because I don’t use google but I wanted to say thanx!
This is by far my favorite coffee shop in Capitol Hill, and probably all of Seattle. Perfect work area. Amazing food. Lovely people all around. I tell everyone new to Seattle to visit Gearhouse Cafe.
It was incredibly lovely! I had a matcha latte and and it was pretty yummy! There is plenty of room to work or study in! :)
After being stranded in Seattle for two days following the great March Snowpocalypse 2026™️, my partner and I stumbled into Gearhouse Coffee in a pseudo fugue state, looking to revive our souls and kill time before relunctantly retreating to SeaTac. And behold, what lovely vibes we encountered! Friendly baristas and visitors of all kinds, some setting out (or coming back in) from their mountain adventures. My carefully crafted americano brought me back to life — flowery and balanced with measured acidity. And my partner’s mocha was gone instantly, a compliment to its chocolatey comfort. Thank you Gearhouse Coffee for giving us a very calming moment in the middle of our own “adventure”. Cheers! ✌️
Absolutely loved the atmosphere here!! It was so peaceful to sit at the beautiful wood tables amongst beautiful plant specimens. The kombucha on tap was AMAZING, Lemongrass flavored, strongly recommend. The mocha had good espresso but it was too sweet for me. It kind of tasted like drinking chocolatey lucky charms. Those with a sweet tooth, enjoy!
This place has a cool atmosphere and possibly is a decent coffee shop. But man is this the worst food i've had in a LONG time. They should be ashamed if this is their standard. The croissant was just about as good as the bulk croissants are at Costco. Possibly it was those. It had a nearly frozen and dough-ey center that was unsettling to bite into. The breakfast burrito was clearly the same thing you get at a roadside convenience store and was taken out of plastic with a nutrition label attached. Looked like something out of the frozen isle at best. They just shoved in a panini press before serving. The exterior of it tasted so bad. Almost plastic-ey like the way a new water slide or inflatable mattress smells. Plasticky fake and inedible. If your passion is not serving food then don't serve food. This brings down the whole brand to me to an intolerable level. Spending nearly 20$ for this absolute crap has my whole day going the wrong way. Edit: I reported this to staff which I normally wouldn’t do. They handled this nicely and got me a refund. They also said they would talk with their vendor. The burritos seemed fairly popular so perhaps this was just a fluke.
I loved this little place great spot but there service was awful our waitress only seen her once from the start of our breakfast never came back to even refill our coffee didn't even bring our condiments. They're prices were ridiculous would not recommend not friendly n customer service sucks.!!! Was not satisfied at all with there hospitality. Give it a 2 star.
Food was amazing ! Americano cinnamon is a must order but add lavender . Sean was very friendly and received us kindly. Bless his amazing work and wonderful coffee ☕️
