Very cozy, service is friendly and the vibe is immaculate. I'll be back next time I'm in town! :)

Food is mediocre, coffee is decent, but service is beyond awful. Incredibly snobby staff, every time I go here the person taking my order acts annoyed that they have to do their job. When I walk up the counter, no matter who’s working that day, they always ignore me for several seconds before greeting me with a barely mumbled “hello”. Never once a “thank you” when I pay or get my food, or god forbid a smile. And I’m always polite to them. Maybe I’m asking too much, but I just think basic manners are essential in a service role (I say this as a service worker myself). I always leave this place feeling like I’m not welcome. Incredibly off-putting. Won’t be going back any time soon.

Loved this place! The coffee was excellent, the staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. Perfect spot to grab a drink or get some work done. Highly recommend Gearhouse Coffee Shop!

Never had a bad drink here!! The turmeric milk and pumpkin spice latte and apple pie latte have all been great! it’s quite expensive but that’s Seattle. Good place to work too lots of outlets

Very nice cozy feeling place to have a cup of Jane, read, work and chill. Staff is top notch! There are a variety of events and activities to attend. I joined as a Summit member for all the perks and offered chances for community in the outdoors. And the classes they offer like backpacking 101, how to put chains on your tires etc,… (bc I didn’t grow up in the PNW those things were new to me) An opportunity for growth might be to offer more chance of deeper connections within activities offered.

Do you live in the city and dream of the outdoors? You will like the vibes here. This seems like the right place to connect with the outdoorsy crowd of Seattle.

The overall best coffee shop in Capitol Hill, even if you don't care about skiing or outdoorsy stuff. Though some others have slightly better coffee (Vivace, Analog), Basecamp takes the trophy in atmosphere, interior, and community. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The interior is roomy and spacious and cozy, with diverse seating options. Basecamp regularly hosts community events: presentations, music, trivia, boardgame nights, and private events. Vertex couldn't have chosen a better business to full the post-covid first-floor retail vacancy. I like the place so much that I've signed up for a membership; I pay a monthly sub so I can get free coffee and tea, and I come here often enough for that to pay for itself. The only downside to Basecamp is that it suffers from its own success. Space is at a premium on Capitol Hill and there's no other cafe that has such a cozy, spacious interior. Consequently, it stays busy at all hours with folks working on their laptops, and sometimes finding a seat is tough. Their recent Wi-Fi changes have made it slightly more difficult non-members to spend long stretches of time in here, but a receipt still gives you 4 hours of WiFi access.

The owner is poor in spirit. I have spent countless hours, money, and time at this establishment. The baristas and products themselves are great, but the owner will trash talk customers for “sitting here too long” despite bringing in revenue. Don’t have a coffee shop if you are against coffee shop culture! Taking my business elsewhere

For how expensive the drinks are, they shouldn’t be getting my order wrong 9/10 times. They don’t always say whose order is up, just place it out and then you have 3 of us staring at each other wondering who it’s for. The food is prepackaged and mid. The attitude of the baristas is “I’m here because it’s a job”. Analog coffee is right down the street yall don’t do this to yourself.

Very cool concept place that offers monthly memberships to get people connected though adventures. Weekly hiking, biking, boating meetups. Membership includes tons of perks, including gear rental. Or just come in for a relaxed place to work and have a coffee, make friends.
