Dorothy's Diwntown was outstanding. My wife, ordered the fried chicken with red beans and rice and andouille sausage. She said that it was the best she has ever had. I had the baked crab cakes, BBQ shrimp (new on the menu), and a house salad. The crab cakes were loaded with crab. Of course, we had the beignets....Cafe du Monte now has competition for the best. Excited to give their brunch a try next.

You are definitely paying for the experience. Food was ummm nothing special i had the Mac and cheese more like an Italian pasta dish. Crab cake was very flavorful but small. Drink was delicious!

So between the southern creole soul food and the waiter who was able to take our complete dinner order for six without writing anything down what an impressive place. The food was top notch and so was the service

We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the menu. My concern is that our server disappeared after our food was delivered. I wanted another glass of wine. She didn’t check back to see how things were. Apparently it took her *the whole time* we were eating our plates for her to make drinks for another table. No bartender? If other servers knew she was occupied taking care of another table’s cocktails, why couldn’t they have checked in? Prices should balance food and service.

Brunch at Dorothy’s Downtown was absolutely amazing! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming—perfect for a downtown brunch date. I had the lamb chops and grits, and they were cooked to perfection—flavorful, tender, and beautifully presented. My husband ordered the short ribs, and they were just as incredible—rich, savory, and fell right off the bone. What truly made our experience stand out was our server, Ayanna. She did a phenomenal job walking us through the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations, and making sure we had everything we needed. She explained the dessert menu so well that we couldn’t resist—we ended up ordering THREE desserts to go! Her energy, knowledge, and attention to detail made the entire experience feel special. We will definitely be back—highly recommend for anyone looking for an elevated brunch experience in Jacksonville!

I'm sorry for the delay, but....Honey this spot is a TOTAL VIBE. It was my first time here and I was celebrating my birthday (myself and family). From the point of walking through the door and speaking with the hostess who was so beautiful (I'm sorry I didn't get her name) to us being seated and meeting our waitress was just totally awesome. Deidra (Dee) was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave recommendations to die for. She took our orders w/o paper and pen..with every order being correct. For Dorothy's to be the sister restaurant to The District...They without any doubt in my heart OUT SHINE their sister. The atmosphere, the staff, and menu completely WON ME over. This is a DEFINITE RECOMMENDATION. Hurry and Get there.

Went here recently for a friend's birthday dinner. Such an amazing spot! The aesthetic and vibes of the dining room are upscale and fun, great music. Drinks and food were delicious. Miriam took very good care of us. My favorite part of the experience was the tableside banana fosters! Such an immersive experience thanks to Ashley. Mind you, this was my experience on a rainy day, but I imagine it's even more fun on the rooftop or patio!

The food was not good. The last batch for the deviled eggs made the eggs horrible. We had to send them back as well as other items. The staff was amazing and understood. I was advised the cook was leaving so it was one of them days.
