Cornish Pasty Co

My first Cornwall Pasty, went with the Oggie (steak and potato) and it was excellent. This place is a bar with a lot of beer options. If it weren’t so pricey I’d eat this every day!

Oh. My. Goodness. Ate at the Cornish Pasty in Phoenix for the first time and it was incredible. I had the French Dip Pasty—roast beef, onions, Swiss cheese, and horseradish sour cream—and it was loaded with meat and flavor. Also tried the loaded oven chips (aka fries) with cheddar and bacon, and I asked for a side of sour cream to smother on top. Delicious. Our waiter was awesome too—wish I had caught his name. It was Friday at lunch, so hopefully he gets the credit he deserves. I’ll definitely be back!

Could've easily been a 4 star visit but our server/bartender lacked any personality. After one sip of the lemonade which wasn't sweet at all but extremely tart, we asked to switch with a coke. She charged us for the lemonade which is only a dollar more, but it was the principle of paying for something that wasn't consumable. She also looked upset that I was requested the coke. I drink beer, my daughter thought the lemonade would be refreshing but it was nasty..that lemonade needs a bunch of sugar. I simply reduced the tip by the difference, this lady want approachable. If there was a cordial and inviting personality working there, I would've just asked for a correction. The Chicken in the Caesar salad wasn't great but my cottage pie was amazing. Smiles go a long way. This was the first time at the downtown location, all other experiences in Scottsdale and Tempe have been 5 stars. This lady was so disinterested, we felt like we were a bother. I definitely won't be returning during the day when this lady is working. Maybe she was having a bad day but we don't need to be made to feel that we're the cause of it by coming in.

I had a really disappointing experience here. My cousin asked for a glass of water, and it appeared to have what looked like a shard of glass in it. When she politely asked what it was, the employee immediately got defensive instead of addressing the concern. Any customer would be alarmed if they thought there was glass in their drink. She asked to speak with a manager, and he dismissed the concern by saying it was “nothing to be scared of.” When he returned with another glass of water, he slammed it down in front of her and claimed he was the manager. Moments later, another employee came over saying he was actually the manager and that the first employee was just a barback, but he was just as rude and unprofessional. To top it all off, as we were leaving, staff flipped us off. We’ve never experienced such disrespect from employees over a simple and reasonable question about something that appeared to be in a drink. Mistakes happen, but the way customers are treated is what matters. The hostility, lack of professionalism, and complete disregard for a legitimate safety concern made this an experience we won’t be repeating.

This review bums me out. Cornish Pasty is one of my FAVORITE restaurants! I’ve been many times to many of their locations, but I hadn’t been to this one in years. My husband and I came on a Sunday afternoon. The front desk was empty when we got there - someone begrudgingly came to help us - told us it would be a wait, probably a half hour. The whole interaction was unfriendly, but I guessed maybe they were slammed and understaffed? We gave our name and phone number and decided to stop into another cool spot nearby. After a half hour, we came back and it’s as if they had forgotten about us, others who had been behind us earlier were already seated (we were never texted) the same person as before said there were some tables available but they weren’t clean yet…but we could sit there if we wanted. We said no problem, went over to the dirty tables, cleared the plates and glasses ourselves, waited for them to come wipe it down, they never did. We got our garlic fries (top tier), but they were out of the one thing I came here for, The Pilgrim! Devastating! I regrouped and asked the waitress what she recommended, again, she seemingly answered me begrudgingly, but I decided to go with one of the options she mentioned, the Hatch Chili Burger…this was the only saving grace of the whole experience. It was amazing! I finished the entire pasty. I won’t come back to this location again. I have even more recently been to another location and the experience was wonderful.

Very nice place to hang out and grab a drink. Had a classic pasty with a beer, and I enjoyed it very much. It was my first time having a pasty, so I have nothing to compare it with. It was good to me. There was a special wine based gravy that it came with. That was good too.

Best atmosphere and absolutely amazing food. This is my go to pre-show hangout.

Ok this place is a must 🙌, very unique, there is little bit of everything but most importantly, these people care, about your experience, the quality of what they put out on the table for what you pay. Just awesome!. Thank you. 4 stars because: I know it's a rustic ambiance but I would just recommend cleaning the tables and benches better. We were the first in the restaurant when they opened and I had to clean our table and bench from left over food stuck on them.

It is such a fun atmosphere! Of course the quality of people you are with makes it 100x better. It was so fun with how many pool tables they had. The staff was friendly and attentive! My friend and I shared the fries to nibble on, they did take a strange long minute to come out and could’ve used more salt, that’s just my preference. Also had a few beers and cocktails, neither disappointed! I would recommend to go here for a fun evening, better than going to the clubs!

My father and I were charmed by Cornish Pasty Co. He had the rueben pasty and I had the balsamic portobello pasty followed by the Banoffee pie. Delicious. So glad we went and us Floridians would gladly return if given the opportunity.
