Avis Car Rental

I would give a 5 for friendliness but since they did not have our category of vehicle that we reserved and downgraded us without adjusting the rate, this will be my last AVIS rental.

At the Avis at the Hilton on 3rd in Charlotte, nc . Veronica was amazing . She went above and beyond to help us in a tough situation. The best customer service and Attitude . She truly cared and sympathized with us . Veronica and Tiffany just made our day better . Thank you all!

Absolutely rude and unhelpful i have ever seen. Had no reservation or a car. Offered no solution at all. I would not even bother. Ben Azzouz the General Manager is complete tool. He should be allowed in the kitchen flipping burgers and not being a car rental company manager. Highly recommend not to rent from this place!

My wife and children need to rent a car to get home after their flight was cancelled. The owner refused to rent the the car that was reserved. Employees confirmed the car was available. When my wife questioned the Owner he degraded and yelled at her. He proceeded to yell at her in front of other employees and my three small children. Do not rent from this Avis.

Just said they only had an electric vehicle which isn’t fully charged. It’s my fault for being an hour late and they rented my vehicle. Employee said I’d have to pay an upcharge for a different vehicle even though we selected a non electric. Plus the vehicle wasn’t fully charged but I’m required to return it to them nearly full. Terrible customer service that it’s my fault for using their location and they don’t have stock.

Found on my CC statement that I was charged extra for gas when I returned the tank full and was told all was well by the person checking the car in. Should have taken the 5 mins to walk inside to get my receipt, or they should be able to print one on the spot like everyone else. Called and was refunded but this was nonsense and I won't return.

These folks are here to take advantage of you. Booked a car few days ago and went to pick up and they claim none available and I am stranded. I guess it’s their common practice when they get someone who book with higher prices later, done with AVIS. Update: finally booked a flight to get back home, never book with avis, you have a better chance winning a lottery than getting a car after reservation at avis

This was my first time renting a car, as we needed one to travel for our wedding. The team at this location was fantastic, very accommodating and the car was a brand new Ford Escape! Avis is a great option and they even had a pre-pay rate which will save you some money.

So, I don't usually write reviews. Here is why I took time to do this one. I have been renting on and off from this location for past 5-6 years. This time I rented a SUV that I returned at this location. Later in the evening my friend who was visiting me from India told me that he forgot his wallet in the ouch behind driver seat. I called avis but the office was already closed. So, I called them next morning and Nicole picked up the call. She immediately asked for car information and told me that she will call me back in 30 mins or less. She called me 20 mins later and told that Ben had found the wallet and has kept it in a locker. Now, this wallet had most of my friends debit and credit cards for his upcoming international trip next week. It also contained his international driving license and 1100 dollars in cash. I was speechless when we returned 2 hours later and got the wallet with everything in it. We tried to offer Ben some money but he politely declined and said he was only doing his job. This attitude makes difference between satisfied customer and delighted customer. Ben - thank you! I have been an avis customer for 6 years for my corporate travels and I am never switching to any other company coz I will remember this gesture. Cheers!

I wish I had the option of selecting 0 stars. I reserved my rental two days in advanced. I received a phone call at 10am the day I were to pick up the rental which was scheduled for pick up at 4pm. I was told they decided they were going to close at 1pm that day. I explained to Brenda that I couldnt pick up the rental by 1pm due to me being in class which was why I put a 4pm pick up time. She informed me she will look for another place I can pick up the rental at my requested time for 4pm. I waited for a return call until 1230. I left class early and rushed to get to this rental place before they closed at 1pm like Brenda stated. Upon getting there I asked Brenda why I didnt get a call back. Especially with it nearing 1pm. She then states it's because she decided to stay open later. I was highly upset because she could've simplied called me and stated that which would've prevented me from having to leave class and rush to the rental place. After the paperwork was concluded she hands me the keys and walks away. So now I'm assuming she wanted me to go search for the car I was renting. Mind you this rental place is in a hotel. Her poor customer service skills was something and to find out she's the manager. Now about the drop off. It was fairly smooth. It's two days later and I've been charged damn near $150 extra. I called the main number and was told this rental place has "pictures" of me smoking in the car. I'm confused as to how is that because for 1, I dont smoke and two are they insinuating they have cameras in the car invading privacy? I won't ever rent from this place again and I think the manager Brenda should take a course in proper cust omer service and attitide.This was the worse experience renting a car I've ever had. I don't recommend this car rental place at all.
