I was in a jam and after calling around to a whole bunch of dry cleaners, I found Alba. Lumi is a gem and perfectionist (and maybe the kindest and most charming person in NYC). 100% I have a new dry cleaners.
This is by far the best tailor and dry cleaner I’ve ever been to. The service, pricing, quality of work, and turnaround time are truly unmatched. Lumi makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in. He doesn’t just hem or tighten clothing, he designs. After losing a significant amount of weight, I brought all my clothes to Lumi, and he made them fit better than anything I’ve ever owned. He is a true tailor of a bygone era. Absolute perfection.
Great service. Needed same day wash and fold on New Years Eve. These guys hustle. It was picked up and delivered in a total of 3 hours. Couldn’t be happier to have clean clothes after 2 weeks away. Highly recommend this place.
The quality of work and level of service is unmatched. I have tried many places across the city - no longer. My boyfriend dropped off 4 pairs of pants to get tapered, hemmed, and the waist taken in - all for only $100. After picking it up, he realized he wanted them a bit shorter but needed them in only 2 days time and we were not thinking it was possible. He called and they were happy to take them back same day, and had them ready 2 days later done perfectly - FREE OF CHARGE. Highly recommend!
This is probably the worse dry cleaners I have ever encountered I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy He not only lied about how long it would take but he then misplaced my coat and I received it back 4 days later once I received my mackage back I realized he ruined it and damaged both emblems off my mackage coat, ripping the inside of it the stitching inside and on my hood as well as fading the color of my coat & instead of him being compassionate & taking accountability he continued making excuses about the condition of my coat that was his responsibility to clean and still managed to blame everything else I also noticed a bunch of customers coming in complaining about him irresponsibly giving them someone else’s clothing I urge everyone to stay away from this company & would not recommend sending any high quality designer clothing to them even if they said they could do it.
Yelled at by owner for forgetting a pen in my laundry bag - in front of other customers while watching him together in disbelief. Shouldn’t that be my own responsibility? Highly recommend to stay away.
They’re amazing!!!! Lumi is super sweet and quick. He’s an expert! I had a last minute alteration need and thought I was out of luck until I called them. They were able to fix my dress within a day!! I’ll def be coming back! Alterations came out perfect too
Owner is so kind and generous and helped me quickly assemble some re-upholstery items same day and next day. Amazing service and fantastic product he’s won my tailoring business and dry cleaning business going forward. He said he was happy to help and liked building relationships in the neighborhood, unmatched attitude in the hustle and bustle of this city.
Service is terrible and they damage items if they don’t outright lose them. I took two new and expensive pants for alterations and they returned them damaged and stained. A simple alteration that was supposed to be done in one day ended up being over 2 weeks and multiple visits. As I was waiting for my pants, some woman came to get her coat back which was missing for 3 months! Next week when I went back to the store again she was there and her coat was still not there. Given the $40 price per alteration and the fact that the damaged my clothes and returned them with wrinkles and stains, I don’t recommend this place. You can see some of the damage to my brand new pants; they did a terrible job of the stitching too. Oh they also didn’t return the hangers that I handed in with my pants.
I’ve been coming here for years and have always appreciated their great work with hemming and cleaning. Unfortunately, this time, Lumi lost one of my shirts and hasn’t taken responsibility for it. I’ve been back at least five times, and each time I was told to give it more time. I believed him because I liked and trusted this shop — and I really liked that shirt. I understand the shop is busy and that everyone works hard, but it doesn’t feel right to be misled as a long-time customer. I hope they handle these situations more honestly in the future.
