had a similar problem with groupon. do not book if you don’t make an appointment or if you have a European car. didn’t notice any of this in the fine print, regardless the person working here was extremely rude and didn’t try to be accommodating or advise any other methods…

I don’t often leave reviews for businesses, but I feel obligated to warn potential customers. I purchased a very appealing Groupon for an oil change. It clearly stated that it only covered 5qts of oil and there was an additional service fee. Upon arrival, I was warned that “older cars sometimes take more oil”. My car is a 02 Ford V6. It takes 5qts of oil. I suspected he would charge for an extra qt and sure enough... When I asked him he became visibly frustrated and explained to me that the manufacturer specs are estimates. I agreed, but told him about the oil usage history, at which he claimed "I've been doing this for a long time". Again, no doubt, but doing something wrong for a long time doesn't make you an expert and I didn't appreciate the way in which he handled my questions. It’s only $5 and change but bad business nonetheless. The total cost came out to that of a normal oil change. There was no deal to be had here. Bad marketing. Be careful. Check your specs. Consider a better rated servicer.

Great deal on groupon which is how I found them. No frills but great work & he has a punch card currently for a free oil change after so many bought outright from him. Try him out..

Carlos did my breaks at a super affordable rate and had me back on the road very quickly. We talked a bit about hiking and it was a great experience. Waiting room also has a bathroom and wifi. (:

Carlos is no mechanic! He is a crook! He marks up his parts 100% or more and doesn't have set labor price but goes in flat rate manual price and time guide line. I took him a car with a bad wheel bearing and took my own part. He proceeded to tell me that the car wasn't making any noise with the wheel bearing, every person who has ever riddin in the car the noise was the first thing the noticed but a supposed mechanic didn't hear it? then the very first thing he does is say that the axle on the car is unrepairable and he would fix the wheel bearing unless I paid him 450$ to do axle. This guy is the definition of a shade tree non ethical mechanic. I am hesitant to take my cars to a mechanic as I used to be one my self and he is what gives mechanics bad names! The funny part of it all is that I go to pick up the car after he told me that the wheel bearing was bad after all and that now the car make more and worse noise then when I originally took it to him. There is a reason this guy advertises on craigslist. He can't get repeat business because he is out to rip you off and do half ass work. DO NOT GIVE HIM YOUR BUSINESS. He isn't cheap or good at his job call somewhere else to have them do the work. There are two shops beside him that will surely do better jobs at same cost.

I've known Carlos and his family for many years, I've had several of my vehicles looked at by him, and I can personally attest that he is talented at what he does, honest, and fair in his work. He's a good man, and a great mechanic.

I used Star Automotive to put a new engine in my Volvo XC90. Carl was very responsive and did quality work at an affordable, fair price. It’s great to have my Volvo back on the road. I always recommend Star Automotive to anyone who asks if I know a “good, honest” mechanic.

My experience with this business was unprofessional and rude. I had a Groupon for a oil change. The owner told me that there was oil disposal fee in addition. The Groupon said nothing about a fee to disposal oil. When i questioned the charge The owner refuse my service and told me to get a refund from Groupon. I never ever ever experience anything like this before. Proceed with extreme caution...especially if you are...well I going to leave it like that ....

Very knowledgeable technician at a fair price. He just completed the installation of two engine mounts (on my Infiniti I35 2004) and a freon hose.

Each time I have to call Carl he has not turned me away. He has great customer service and is a very nice person. He will always have my business
