I don't see how a company can lose so much stuff. Mine being a pallet with Leaf Springs that can't be located. While your sitting back and making $ I'm not Saia. So it would be great if yall could locate my springs. After that investigate (like yall told me) your employees and train them better.
Not shipping problems but we live next door to a facility in Austin and they have an alarm that goes off on the weekends for hours on end. Morning or night. Today (Sunday dec 31) in fact is on of those days. Why have an alarm and not respond to it? Somebody is probably over there trying to steal stuff and I suppose the alarm is supposed to be a deterrent but it’s just disruptive to those around the facility. I wish I could include audio because it’s still “woo woo woo” ing as I’m typing this out. I’ve lived next door for 3 years now and it’s not the first weekend this has happened. My mom hates staying over when she visits also due to the lack of sleep she gets. Guess anybody who gets to read this knows there’s a free for all over at Saia on pernell because nobody cares to secure the place because ain’t nobody coming to check or stop these alarms. ***Edit-this is a bit delayed but thank you Saia for responding to my complaint and taking action! No continuous alarms for like the past idk how long but thanks and keep up the good work. 5 starts for giving a crap about the concerns and complains y’all receive I have seen many reviews were others had some issues but you’ve guys went the distance to make it right. I feel that’s rare these days thanks again!
Did not look at reviews till after the fact. Took off today from work awaiting a piano delivery. I was able to select today. I was told to be at my home from 11-7 which was not an easy thing to do since I needed to be at the office working. I called at 3:00 PM and they confirmed delivery today by 7PM. It is now 8 PM and obviously not going to be delivered. They are dishonest or lie how ever you want to look at it. They have no understanding of the time and work commitments of professionals. They also never called and gave me any heads up that delivery was delayed or not possible. They are also impolite or rude to their customers with this lack of courtesy. Their other reviews are low. This is accurate. Do not use this company to ship. Do not accept this company as a shipper.
Been waiting 8 days for a shipment now. They called yesterday finally to schedule a delivery today.. stayed home ALL day today because they said between 8-4. Nothing shows up. Call and come to find out it never left Dallas which is 2 hours away. I asked why I didn’t get a phone call and she said they didn’t have time to call me yet and the schedulers left at 4. It’s friday and now I have to wait until MONDAY to even reschedule an appointment because of course they don’t work weekends. This company is total BS. Unorganized and terrible business. I paid almost $300 to ship our front door. I bet it shows up broke too.
My company has partnered with Saia to move freight for years. They've consistently been one of our top carriers and I would recommend to any business in the area looking for LTL carriers to ship with.
Jeremy came by to pick up a large damaged item that was being returned to a Power Equipment company. There were several mistakes made by the original company (not SAIA). Jeremy was so kind and patient while I called them to fix the situation. He checked and ensured my new item was not damaged and was very helpful. Jeremy deserves a raise!
So...I get a call from Dwayne, a scheduler (truck driver on light duty) who schedules my shipment this past Wednesday....for Thursday after 3 pm....no show all day Thursday! Call SAIA-LTL terminal at 5 pm...the guy says he doesn't know why it was scheduled for Thursday...they only run to Llano,Tex Mon.,Wed,Friday!...ok, so I wait all day Friday for my shipment that never comes! No calls...so I call back and get Dwayne again...no apologies...no explanation and they can't even guarantee my shipment will be on the truck for Monday(today). I just called and the lady confirmed it is on the truck today. Their online tracking is not updated until the next day! I have never used SAIA-LTL Freight...and at this point...I hope I never have to again. Bad first experience. My business depends on equipment getting delivered when it says. I would think SAIA-LTL would as well.
This was my first time using SAIA and they crushed a $10,000 scanner. It was bubble wrapped and shipped on a pallet to a customer. It arrived with a big crack on top and was obviously crushed. After filing a claim, they wouldn't accept since the receiver (my customer) didn't notify them directly. Why does my customer need to be involved with a scanner that was shipped to them? Will never do business or recommend SAIA to anyone.
In the last two weeks I have had 3 shipments to Austin with SAIA. One was severely damaged and 2 have been reweighed and upcharged. The reweigh on one was almost 300lbs over my estimated weight. I have been shipping for over 5 years and I have never got hit with weight charges and this week twice! I am not doing anything different! I have been upcharged for all kinds of charges in Austin. Most trouble there then any other hub with SAIA. Time for a freight company change!
